Place: Garland USA Comments: Jack, anytime Bruce hears that someone is doing renovation, he always wants to offer a hand. I hope he didn't call at a bad time! Karen Hughes, I sent you an email over the weekend. Any chance you have read it? I would appreciate any information you all might provide.
Place: 66erville Comments: OK, Don, I'll bite. What's a HD TV upgrade?? Are you replacing old analog TVs with new (big Screen) HD Digital ones??
Place: LV, TX Comments: OK, Y'all - Either I'm disconnected or there hasn't been a post in 2 days. I know some are awake out there because they've responded to e-mails. C'mon - Stir something up, trash somebody (not necessarily in our class), or post a good link. Anyway, I'm doing an HD TV upgrade - 1 down, 1 to go. Happy Sunday! ![]()

Place: Lago Vista, TX Comments: Good Morning, Lydia - Welcome back!
Place: Peachtree Corners, GA Comments: First time visiting the website-great job! Brought back lots of happy memories! And thanks for the invitation to the reunion -Lydia
Place: FW Comments: Sandy and Don, thanks for the tips. I'll start deleting long lists of email addresses from now on. I would hate for people to stop sending things. I get some real laughs out of some of them! But that spoofing thing is a real headache to deal with. And so embarrassing!
Place: LV, TX Comments: SNL - Thanks for chiming-in on this. There was also a related incident where Rod Savage rcvd an angry e-mail from a 'nut case' who went-off on him like a rocket. He (?) apparently rcvd one of Rod's Redneck jokes from someone else in a multi-forwarded e-mail. This guy unloaded on Rod, Rednecks, Republi-Nuts, Jews (whose asses we saved), and anyone who believed in God, adding they probably believed in the Easter Bunny & Tooth Fairy also. BTW - the subject line of his e-mail was 'Confused' - nuff said.
Place: Richardson Comments: You are so right Don! I get a lot of forwarded emails from this grp & they will have several long strings of email addresses. I think the same person who hijacked David Mitchell's em also got Georgene Capps bec I've gotten the same weird msg from both & both have the subject as " 3". Of course the bad emails are never signed & have a one sentence msg asking me to look at the url. Collectively, ALL of US need to be more diligent in what WE click on & what WE SEND or Forward! Email privacy is why I switched to this GB about 2yrs ago. If you type in your em all that shows here is the word Email in blue as mine does above. If s/o clicks on it they can send you an Em but will never see your em. You can choose to respond to them or simply delete it. They can not get your Em address unless you reply to them. This site is safe, but I can't say the same for the crap I get with hundreds of forwards from people I don't know. It's kind of like practicing "safe sex", you never know where that email has been! ![]()
Place: LV, TX Comments: I’ve mentioned this to some of our folks already, but it’s probably time we alerted all our g/b viewers about e-mail attacks that are becoming more frequent.
Besides David Mitchell, Susan Sunde, Bill Byrum & Buddy Capps, plus some of my other family & friends, had their e-mail addresses “spoofed” & contacts raided recently.
I've noticed the subject lines on these bogus e-mails often contain that person's e-mail address, something out of the ordinary, like a number, or it's blank. The links within the text direct viewers to websites for online purchases of vitamins, sexual enhancement supplements, bedroom ‘toys’, etc. (Easy, Jack!)
Besides having decent anti-virus software, it might help if we all get into the habit of clipping off multiple addresses of forwarded e-mails & using the ‘Bcc’ line when we send to large groups of addressees.
This will not rid us of these attacks completely, but should help cut down on the frequency.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Always hate to hear any news of another classmate passing. I knew Raymond, but didn't run around with him. He used to stop by Dobb's (formerly Nicks) drive-in grocery store where I worked, corner of Overton Rd. & Ramona Ave., and have a coke & a smoke while we BS'd a bit. Prayers go out to him & his family. BTW - David Mitchell used to work across the street from Dobb's at V-Macs drive-in grocery. It kept us in smokes, cokes & gas at the time.
Place: Sachse Comments: I didn't know Raymond very well but it is always sad to lose one of our classmates. God bless him and his family.
Place: southlake Comments: My email contact list has been hacked. If you receive an email from me that doesn't look like something I would send delete it.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Sorry to hear this. Raymond was a nice guy at SOC. |
