We're all working trying to make enough money so we do die under OBAMA...Jack, I resent your and Sam's comments regarding my employees...they are strong young men with all GPA's above 3.5 and have a future in the cleaning business if they want to continue....LOL !!!!

We actually got some rain here - lots of lightening and thunder that I could have done without but the rain was really welcome.  Cooled everything down - we will still have to pull out boat out of the lake next week but it would take about a week of rain to stop that.

J.D.  Jack is right on about this. When our son Brian was at Baylor University, he would bring home his laundry once per month for Sarah to wash and dry his clothes. Brought home 10 shirts, 10 pants, socks and 4 pair of underwear. When Sarah questioned him about the underwear he replied he wears one pair 3 days, turns them inside out for another 3 days and none on Sundays.

We visited him and his roomate one Saturday, open the closet door to hang up our clothes and there was a mountain of worn clothes on the floor.

Ahhh such memories of college days.

JD - There's a fine line between employing young folks for residential cleaning jobs and hyping the hard-body, shirtless, 'extra-curricular activity' angle for a cut of their take.

So long as you keep your family man SUV and don't trade it in for a bright red, long-body Caddy with wide whitewall tires, fancy chrome wheels & trim, fuzzy, plush interior, and deafining boom-box 'music', you may be able to retain the title of regional employer instead of neighborhood pimp!

Watching your back - I'm just sayin ...

JD, I love your scheme. I do find one tiny flaw in it. Assuming that these guys are suppose to do SOME cleaning, that is the end of it. Every kid I know or ever heard of, once they got to college, forgot every bit of cleaning/neatness skills they ever had. Even the neatfreeks and anal lose it. Drawers and hangers don't exist. Just floor and when parents or others are coming, closet floor are storage space. So, GOOD LUCK in getting any actual cleaning out of them. Now if there is no cleaning, only heavy lifting or posing required, you should be on easy street quickly.

Sam, your little Cody has got some chuckable cheeks if I ever saw them. No wonder Casey can't keep her fingers off of them. Totally adorable.

Thank you Don for making us aware of the situation.  Marth is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met & she always sent some funny emails.  She & her family will be in my prayers.

Folks - Rick Mitchell & I spoke to Martha Noah, Vic's mom, recently & were told her health is failing.  She was hospitalized about 2 weeks ago & diagnosed with congestive heart failure, plus some sort of lung disease.  She has also been wearing a pace-maker for a while.  She's home now, being care for by her daughters, Sue & Charlotte, with support from a hospice nurse.

Martha turned 90 this past Nov. - our birthdays are 1 day apart.  She is a wonderful, caring & otherwise jovial lady.  She considers all the guys who were involved in presenting her with the military shadow-box for Vic as "my boys".  This also applies to several Marines from Vic's Vietnam unit who've kept in touch with her.

I plan to notify our SOC '66 Vets & Marines from Vic's Vietnam unit by separate e-mail distribution lists.

Please add Martha to prayer lists & keep her in your prayers - thank you.

What a tangled web we weave...JD, the one that has trouble with dust bunnies.
Missed a lot on the GB.  My computer is in Eli's room and just about the time I get through for the day and ready to check my email he goes to sleep.
Happy birthday to all that have had a birthday, anniversary or anything else to celebrate.  My thoughts and prayers are with Ada...one very strong woman as well as Bobby's daughter.
Sam, throw out the Ambien!!!! Dangerous stuff!!!
My grandson, Eli and his mom, Ashley will be going back to Cali on Friday morning.  They have been here since June 21.  I can't image wakening and not seeing Eli first thing in the morning.  He is one precious baby boy and is so good.  He sat through church Sunday morning without a sound, well just a few little ones.
Tomorrow were celebrating the my girl's birthday at Celebration for lunch then both are having their hair cut and highlighted at Avalon salon at The Shops at Legacy.  Fun day planned. (I'm so sick of shopping,...I am not a shopper)
Jack, we could never re-create the 4th that we had several years ago at Gordy's.  That was the best 4th ever!
It's just way too hot!!!!
