Clouds seem to be breaking up and the sun is playing peek a boo. Still cold but the sun is a welcome sight. I'm ready for this frozen stuff to go back north were it belongs. Never been a fan of cold weather and time has not changed my mind.

The snow has stopped now but for awhile, once the sleet stopped, we had big beautiful flakes for about 30-40 minutes. Everything white.  Lots of pretty birds eating all the food I put out for them this morning. As long as we have power, all is good!  Glad you still have power and since no ice hopefully it will continue.

We seem to have escaped most of the sleet here on the north side of the metro, but we are getting lots of snow. Power has stayed on.

It's 6:30 am & sleet still coming down.  Streets & sidewalks all white.  Hope sleet stops & turns to snow soon.  Thankful to have power and I hope all of you are faring as well.  I have heat, fireplace going & hot coffee in my hand . . . thankful for all 3.  How are you doing in OKC?

Thanks for the comments.  Yes, Joyce was only 20 when we got married.  The best decision I ever made.  It was very nice of our grand niece to celebrate our anniversary with such a big reception.(Actually we were happy for them and the timing was purely coincidental.)

I did see on FB in a post from their dtr that it was Joyce's B-day & their 50th Anniversary!  Lots of good wishes sent their way.  Gosh, Joyce was only 20 when they got married, Jerry always did like the cute young girls!  Congratulations on your 50th Jerry & Joyce!

Well, darn it, I forgot to post this on Saturday. Jerry & Joyce Tillery celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today, January 29, 2022. It does not seem that long ago we were speeding around Houston on a cold, wet day/night. It was a great wedding and the reception, whoooee! I remember most of it well. Dancing to good music, eating great food and having a good time.
I've known Jerry since Lisbon Elementary and Joyce since 1969. Two solid friends and good people. So here is to Jerry & Joyce, may their marriage last forever.

After being really sick due to all the cedar, juniper and other pollen and crude in the air, I'm finally feeling good again as of Saturday.  It lasted 4 weeks .  .  .  didn't think I was ever going to get better.

Now it looks like Wed evening and night and on Thur. we're in for some ice, sleet & snow along with some very low temps!  So get that 2nd cup of coffee, maybe a cookie or two, and set back and relax.  Tomorrow is February 1.  Hopefully the darn Omicron variant is on it's way out and maybe, just maybe, we can start to feel safe to mingle with friends. Going to get another cup and think about it. Stay warm & safe Socites!

A Sheryl Smith Weston sent an updated info page from our site saying she found her name on the Missing list.  Sherry sent her info and I'll gladly remove her name, another bear has found us and isn't missing anymore.

It was a perfect morning for a SOC Parade in downtown Dallas!  Hopefully it will be on the 10pm news tonight.  Maybe someone went to it & posted pics on FB?!  I'm going to check now.

Well, we're back with another Arctic freeze since last night.  28 degrees this morning with a hefty N. wind. Cold, windy & no sun thru Saturday.  Sunday looks promising.

After 2 and a half weeks of being sick due to all the darn pollen in the air, finally Monday I got up and felt good.  I immediately made out a grocery list and went the store.  Bought enough for 6 to 7 days.  As long as we don't loose power, I can take the cold.  Lit fireplace this morning, felt so good!

For those not on FB, Linda & Rudy Rich have covid.  They are both vaccinated and had booster. But, she believes they got exposed at Sunday School on Sunday because they were fine until Monday morning and started feeling really bad.  They are talking with their Dr and at home.

I am checking in!   All is well in wide-awake, windy Waller!  Doing home repairs when its warm (above 60 degress....LOL!)!  And today it will be in the 70's - yea!  Yet, Karen and Mike Davis (Galveston) probably will have temps in the 80's today.  

We started the year off great with good friends - Karen and Mike.  Had a great time!

January is busy with projects, etc.  

God is good...all the time.  Please stay safe and warm!
