Place: LV, TX Comments: Thanks for all the well wishes on the 2nd back surgery. If this one works out, I'll be able to drop 3 meds. Kathy has no problem with taking a week off while I am my own pain, but quickly included "no curb service either - hung up the roller scates many moons ago!" ![]() Jack - That's a fair assumption about gov't work. No one has ever stolen any work off my desk or taken over something I was working on, yet. I guess my co-workers are simply too busy to assume any more workload. ![]() Still not a drop of rain down here in our part of the TX hill country. Local news report said we broke an all-time record for continuous days of 100 degrees or above. In 1925 the record was 69 - we hit 70 & counting. I haven't scanned our student directory yet, but wondered how our classmates in DC, VA, NY & elsewhere made out after "Bush's Fault" rumbled thru - good one, James Y Ron's on my vets' list, so I'll give him a holler.
Place: Dry in Richardson Comments: You lucky dogs!! The clouds covered the sun, the temp dropped from 101 to 90 within a few minutes & we heard thunder, but that was it! No rain, not even a drop!!
Place: Cypress Springs Comments: by the way - that is inches of rain.
Place: Cypress Springs Comments: We got about 1 1/2 of rain - it was wonderful - walked from Walmart to the car and did not even care that I was getting wet!!
Place: DS Comments: It's been thundering for the last hour without a drop, and finally the clouds broke through. So thankful. We just need a lot more.
Place: DS Comments: Send some rain, would You send some rain?
Place: Richardson Comments: I too hope this 2nd surgery gives you relief for your ailing back! I know you've been in misery for months & months. I'm praying that Labor Day weekend brings a change in the weather here and a change for the better in your back!! Don't return to work too soon . . . wait until they start to appreciate what you did, then return slowly.
Place: FW Comments: Don, hope this surgical go-around is more successful than the last. Get well quickly.
Place: 66erville Comments: August 24, 2011. Write it down. Toni is apparently speechless. Had to ditto a comment. Don, kick back and take a FEW days off. If you are a pain in your own a**, then you can't work standing up or sitting down. Remember, it is a government job, nothing that won't a few days.
Place: Garland USA Comments: ....ditto what Karen MD said.....
Place: Sachse Comments: Happy belated anniversary wishes go out to Sandy Joe and Sue Sue. Hope it was special. ![]() Don L, hope your recovery from surgery is fast and complete. Place: 66erville Comments: Happy Anniversary Sandy and SueSue!! You know that has to be true love. Can't find any other reason anyone would stay with Sandy Joe Pool Guy Wedgefoot Gay Scotsman FORE! McGee for all this time...
Place: Calif. Comments: Regarding the earthquake; Bob Van Dillen on HLN said his ol' granddad at the retirement home just looked over at his friend and in a crusty old guy's NY voice said "jeez...was that you or me?" funny guy, Van Dillen |
