Place: nh Comments: The earthquake was felt in NH....but not by me! Don, glad your surgery is over and hope you find some relief....back pain is no fun. Sandy Joe and SueSue....hope you had a wonderful anniversary. I will see the oncologist on Monday to find out the plan of attack.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Had 2nd back surgery yesterday & stayed home today to recover. I’ll probably telework for the rest of the week & not try to drive to work til Mon. Otherwise, it’s still painful as expected, but hope I can get off the meds in another week or so. Told Kathy I'll give her a break this week & be a pain in my own ass.  - Don

I also had a friends in Pa. and Virginia who lost their phone service completely. Richard, I mentioned this to Everett Richardson recently. If you want a really good dose of "our" music and then some, don't miss the musical, Smokey Joe's Cafe, the next time it is in your city. Well worth the trip, and when you leave, I promise you will be singing! I try to see it each time it comes to Dallas.

Place: EarthQuake on East Coast Comments: Just picked this up off the wire - Earthquake on our E Coast!!! WASHINGTON (AP) — A 5.9 magnitude earthquake centered in Virginia forced evacuations of all the monuments in Washington and rattled nerves from the southern state of Georgia to Martha's Vineyard. No injuries were immediately reported. The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was half a mile deep and centered about 40 miles northwest of Richmond, the state capital of Virginia. Shaking was felt at the White House and all over the East Coast, as far south as Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Parts of the Pentagon, White House and Capitol were evacuated.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thought I'd give an update on the Reunion stats. As of this morning, we have 25 rms booked at hotel for Fri night & 33 rms booked for Sat night! We have 107 registered for Fri & 122 for Sat. I only count rms and/or people when they actually register, not those that say they plan to. The programs & events we've lined up for both nights are shaping up nicely & I believe everyone will thoroughly enjoy themselves on both nights!! Discount room rates: They're only good until 9-15 !! I must have your registration in my hands no later than 9-8 ! ! ! If you plan to attend . . . get it sent quickly.
Place: Richardson Comments: TNX Richard, this article had more info than the one tda in the DMN. These 2 guys wrote so many of the great songs for a multitude of artist. They were especially good for Elvis as they wrote a plethora of his hits in the late 50's!! Music lost a creative soul.

Maybe Bobby is sending you away for rehab afterward. Oh, be sure to mark the correct knee for them. Might add a "this side up" note too.

Place: Richardson Comments: Shortcake, Are you sure they didn't give you the "summer camp" Do's & Don't's List!!??  So you're going to have the surgery Aug 29th. How soon can you be dancing after that?   seriously, take care of yourself & be sure to do your rehab, bec I want you to be feeling good for the reunion. As Susan said, let us know which hospital & how long. Will be praying for a successful surgery & a quick recovery. |
