Place: Richardson Comments: Charles & Sammy - A very Happy B-day to you guys for yesterday!! Hope it was a good one! Even though Rusty & Sam M don't monitor our GB, Happy B-day to them too! Good news abt Sarah & continued prayers for her as well as Shortcake, Sammy, Ada Ann & Don L. May all have a complete & speedy recovery! Jack- You are too kind.  Maybe I can return the favor. You know . . . about the checking in early part. I'd hate it if your room wasn't ready until late Fri night.

God is good and answering our prayers. Hang in there Shortcake. It will be all better very soon (sorta soon). Mind the doctor.  Jack, you are too kind. SNL will probably give you a "gift" to reward your thoughfulness.
Place: Benbrook Comments: Sarah's surgery went well.They think they got it all.I'm so down and broke.Guy's, it looks like our prayers are being answered about Sarah and others! Happy Anniversary Dale and Yuvonne
Place: 66erville Comments: Shortcake (and you others too) you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Keep up your positive attitudes. When it gets tough call and yell at me. Probably help us both. Happy Birthday wishes to the guys and Janie too. Hopes for many more together. I called the hotel and asked if they would give SNL a room on the top floor nearest the highway or at least next to the ice machine. Assured me they would do their best. They are such nice people.
Place: Coppell Comments: Since I have not kept up with Karen's reason for surgery, if it is her knee, Karen, be sure you demand a dopler of the knee and leg. I speak from experience having 5 total hip replacements. The dopler will detect blood clots. God bless and get well soon.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Ada, Sam & Shortcake - Continuing prayers & best wishes for good results & a speedy recovery - we really mean it, folks! Bob - Hope to hear some good news from you soon regarding Sarah - she's on our prayer list also! In local news, I think our record is now 76 days of 100+ temps, but no longer continuous - had a cool spell of 98 last week. Rumor of some moisture soon - if a fire-fighting helicopter drops its water bucket prematurely. 
Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to our quadruplets, Sammy R. Smith, Sammy M. Smith, Charles Moss & Rusty Powers, for 8/31! Guys, we hope you’re all celebrating another great one, whether it’s 63, 64 or 6x (yikes!) - either kickin back for a day off or getting out to do something you enjoy most. Hope that we’ll see you at our 45th - best wishes!
Place: Garland USA Comments: Talked to Karen a little while ago. She said the doctor is not allowing her to go home tomorrow as planned as she is having trouble with the pain management. Now, they are going to try for Friday. She could certainly use a lot of prayers from all of us. BTW - I think we need to add another person to our birthday list, Don L. Birthday wishes go out to Janie Jones Gann! Hope your day was special. Continued prayers and positive thoughts for everyone from the Class of '66 and their families who may be ailing.
Place: Richardson Comments: As of tonight, there are 31 rooms booked at the Doouble Tree for Fri night & 40 rooms for Sat night! Good grp staying at the hotel. Looks like our after hours party is going to be lots of fun!!! Tmo is Sept 1, if you plan to attend the reunion, I must have your registration form & money in my hands within 7 days!! If not, you may be left out in the foyer because headcount will have been turned in & you won't be included. It's now or never!
Place: DeSoto Comments: Talked to Karen earlier, but not for long, she sounded like she was in a lot of pain. Bless her heart. She did say she needs lots of prayers. My son and his wife are scheduled to close on a lake front property mid Sept., at The Cliff's. So sad the lost of so much land and homes. One of my former neighbors was on the news and was pretty sure his home was a loss.
Place: Garland USA Comments: Just talked with Karen. Today the PTs had her up and walking down to the nurse's station which is about 25 feet from her room. She said it took her about 15 minutes to make it to the nurse's station and she was in a race with another lady!! She said they redressed her incision and took all the drains out, and she sounded a little better but you can still hear the exhaustion in her voice. She said she heard from Sandy Joe today and that really raised her spirits. She has tried to get on the internet but apparently it is really a challenge for her. Bruce and I went to Winnsboro last night to see her and we had a nice visit. I know she would like to hear from anyone and everyone...it takes her mind off of the pain....that and the morphine drip! |
