Folks - We've been seeing the haze & smelling the smoke from multiple wild fires in our area, but nothing in Lago Vista yet.

If you have relatives or friends living in Cedar Park, Leander (20 homes lost), Steiner Ranch, near Mansfield Dam (40 homes lost), and especially Bastrop, near the state park (400 homes lost), you may want to give them a check-up call. 

News reports say the Bastrop fire is 16 miles long X 6 miles wide, plus it & Steiner Ranch are still out of control.

Welcome home, Shortcake - Glad your sense of humor survived.

Sometimes you have to chase those pain pills with something besides water - maybe Irish coffee, Bloody Mary, or Mimosa.  Exercise may be a bit wobbly, but you can laugh in the process. 

Tell Bobby he should have some, too - and shoot some video!

Don't worry about Bobby. He will get through all this just fine. Trust me on this, I know because last year Dru had her right knee replaced. It was tough on me for a week or two, but then I just breezed on through the next several months.
 
Now, 14 months down the road and I can barely recall the hardships I endured. Tell Bobby there is light at the end of the tunnel ... just persevere.

H a p p y  44th  A n n i v e r s a r y !!! to Donna Riley & Jack Pratley, for 9/2!  Notes say they were married in 1967 at Cedar Canyon Baptist Church, Duncanville, TX.  Donna – Hope you’ve mended well since that ‘horsing around’ incident.  Didn’t see your name on the 45th attendee list, but hope you’ll make it, if possible – lotsa treacherous horse rides between this one & the next.  Major congrats & best wishes for many more!
