Place: Allen, TX Comments: Actually, Don L., I was the one chasing the girls, pulling up their dresses, and kissing them. Seems like I did get in a lot of trouble. But, it didn't stop me. haha! Sam and I had fun throwing rocks. We had a lot of gravel on our playground at the old W.W. Bushman building. We used to throw it at people or up in the air. Teachers were always on our backs about that. I had so much fun with Sam that first semester of the first grade (before he transferred to Lisbon). I am SO happy that we reconnected and are good friends now. Hard to find a finer couple to be friends with than Sam and Sarah.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Ronney / Sam - You guys must've been dirty old wild men before your time: "pulled up their dresses, and kissed them" - ? Surprised you weren't paddled to death & are still alive to talk about it.
Sam - Be sure to thank Ronney for spilling the beans on you both, although I don't recall that you ever confessed about this before. I'm not sure even Bovie could top that one, but we'll try to get an expert opinion.
Pool Guy, what do you think?
Place: 66erville Comments: Happy Birthday, Ronney and wishes for many more!! Sam are you sure you're not skipping treatments? You don't seem to be glowing any brighter. Keep on keeping on. You know we are all with you.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Sammy, any update on how the radiation treatments are doing? I hope I didn't offend you at the reunion. But, after you said you'd be the one glowing and then your little device lit up, I could not help but laugh. I am honestly concerned about you. But, just have to laugh at these things sometimes. I laugh at my problems quite a lot. Doesn't make them go away; but I sure handle them a little better. But, I am sure I don't have to tell you that. I pray for you asking the Lord to heal you of cancer. And, I know you are going to be just fine. Your good attitude will heal you faster than the radiation.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Sammy, ALWAYS ready for a good rock fight. We really "rocked" that fall semester of 1954, didn't we!!! Throwing rocks with you (and getting in trouble for it) is a great memory of mine from the 1st grade at W.W. Bushman Elementary School. I remember that I also chased the girls, pulled up their dresses, and kissed them. If I did that today, I would be in handcuffs and you could see me on FOX News. hee-hee!! Thanks for the birthday wishes. Connie and I are blessed to have Sarah and you in our lives.
Place: Sachse Comments: Happy Birthday Ronney and have a great time with family tonight. Sam, hope you continue to do well and get good reports. Hoping the same for Don's brother Doug too. Sandy Mc, I will be praying for Jana as she undergoes surgery tomorrow. She has been through a lot and we all want her to be healed. So sorry for your back injury. Take care of yourself and enjoy your visit with your daughter and little Eli.
Place: Coppell Comments: Thanks for the well wishes regarding my radiation treatments. Only 15 to go. My last one will be 11-18, the Friday prior to Thanksgiving week. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RONNEY. Feel like a good rock fight on your 64th? LOL
Place: Sunny in Richardson Comments: Wow, great news Sammy!! I hope your progress continues to be tolerable & you will get thru doing good & then be all cured! How many more treatments do you have left? And yes, I'm absolutely enjoying every minute of my retirement!!
Place: DS Comments: Happy Birthday Ronney! Sorry to hear about Lily, but you are doing a great thing for her, even though it's hard to do. May the rest of your day be special. Sam, I was wondering how you are doing. Sounds like you are doing pretty great so far. My only niece, Jana, is scheduled for a mastectomy tomorrow after six months of chemo. The surgery is approximately ten hour. Please keep her in your prayers. Several of you have been praying for her for sometime. All prayers are so appreciated. I pulled several muscles in my back last week and have been home bound and flat on my back since Saturday night. I'm afraid I want be able to pick up Eli when I visit. He'll be "1" Nov. 23. Don I hope you find someone that has pictures. You spent alot of time in the foyer getting these.
Place: Allen,, TX Comments: Our vet just called. He is putting our little old weenie dog to sleep. I miss her already. She was such a sweet dog and a real trooper dealing with the other two larger dogs. OH what a birthday this is turning out to be. haha! It will be better.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Thanks, Don. On this, my 64th birthday, I get the utter joy of having one of our dogs put to sleep. Poor little mama is more than 100 years old in doggie years, so says our vet. She has a bad heart and her liver is shutting down. Last night she got deathly sick. We put her in her little bed and all she has done is sleep and her breathing is labored. She has nowhere to go but down from here. So, I am going to run her to our vet friend about 5 minutes from our house and let him do the merciful thing for her. I took in Lily when I put my aunt in Grace Presbyterian Village. I promised to take care of the dog for the rest of her life. And, I have given her a good life here at our house. She always loved visiting our house when she lived in Oak Cliff at my aunt's house. She never wanted to go home. Every time I visited my aunt, she would try to get in my car. When I brought her home with me for good, I think it was the happiest day of her life. While working in my home office, she always camps out in there with me. I will miss her very much. What a great way to start my birthday. But tonight, my wife and daughter are taking me to my favorite Chinese restaurant in Dallas, at Preston Road and Royal Lane, and have my favorite dish, Mongolian Beef. Can't wait.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Ha p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Ronney McKee, for 11/3! Ronney – Hope you enjoy your big day & don’t feel a whole lot older this morning. We just get better, remember? So, go ahead & ring that bell for curb service & breakfast in bed. Best wishes for many happy returns!
Place: LV, TX Comments: SNL - Couldn't agree with you more regarding David & the effort he put into getting the Mystics back together. I think he deserves a special award for that, but we can talk separately, if you like.
Sam - Good to hear things are going well so far after #28 & we pray it continues that way. My brother, Doug, had his semi-annual PET scan day before yesterday & gets the results Fri. - the last 2 have been clear.
Folks - No response yet from anyone who took pix of the vets' display table at the reunion. I've e-mailed Bill Smith separately, who usually shoots a lot at our gatherings, but if you know of anyone else who may have captured some, please let me know - thanks.
Place: Coppell Comments: Well #28 treatment today. No side effecttttttctssss yet. Congrats on your retirement Sandy. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Still can't figure out why I'm three weeks behind on my honey do list. Think Corona Light has something to do with it. Had a great weekend with grandson Garrett. Went to the HP and Rockwall Heath football game Friday night then fishing at the local Coppell park ponds Saturday. Nothing like a Pop and Garrett bonding. Love to all
Place: Sachse Comments: Great picture and great costumes on the grandones, SNL. We were far more limited back when we were kids out trick or treating. Ghosts, witches, hoboes and anything that could be created with items on hand were the most popular back then, but the results were the same...a big bag of candy at the end of the night. |
