Cathy, we wd be delighted to see you at the mini, provided you can pull yourself away from Paradise.   What a great name for a city!  I love seeing all the interesting city & street names when I do the directory.  One of our classmates lives on "Success" st & another on "Easy" st.

Do any of you watch the Food Network channel or the HGTV channel?  I swear, since we've been here I have gotten hooked on the Food Network!  I love watching the Barefoot Contessa & Giada's cooking segments & also Chopped!  I like Triple D too! I have learned so much watching those shows.  It actually gives me hope that I can cook something other than the standard chicken fried steak, grilled chicken, potatoes, gravy etc etc.  I've actually gotten some very good recipes from the Food Network.  Just wondered if anyone else had gotten hooked on those shows?  We love HGTV with all the makeovers for the house & yard!

Just catching up with everything and everyone!    SNL, very sorry to learn that Stephanie's mom passed away.  Also, very sad to learn about Lowell Johnson's passing as well.  I see there are two new grandones - they are just adorable!  Chatted with Ada earlier this week and she is able to travel again, so they are finally getting to make the trip to Colorado at the end of the month.  Prayers go out for all those with continuing medical issues.

Amen!  Without friends, life can be lonely . . .  no one to share things with!  Friends make us laugh, remember funny stories of when we were younger & stupider and pat us on the back to let us know it will be alright when things are bad.

I sincerely hope all my SOC friends (and their spouses) will make plans to join me for some laughter & fun in April at our next mini!!  I'm calling the hotel tda to see if they can get a bartender to come in early to open up for us at 2:00.  As soon as I get a confirmation, I will post it.  I'm shooting for 4-21.

Jack, my friend is quite the Beatles collector. He had a room built on his house in the Prestonwood area, just for his collection. And, that room is overflowing. If you google Mark Naboshek, it will bring up sites of him with the Beatles and articles about his collection.

What a shame your wife's mom threw out all of her collection. Sounds like something MY mom would do.

Congrats on 33, Ronney!  My wife had a collection of Beatles stuff. While she was away at college, her Mother "cleaned up" for her and threw it all out.

My son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter came here this past weekend for our 33rd wedding anniversary (Saturday, March 17). Was great. How did we celebrate? We all went to the surprise birthday party for one of my best friends and my kids' godparent, Mark Naboshek. We had a great time. And, Lila was a living doll throughout the party and the entire weekend. My friend, Mark, is one of the world's biggest collectors of paraphernalia (sp?) and history of the Fav Four (Beatles). I was able to find him a Beatles Yarmulke (Jewish skull cap). I almost had to pick him up off the floor when he opened his present. I know where it will go when not on his head......right into his Beatles collection.

Mr Nance, Kathy & I are headed to Scottsdale on Apr 25th. Leaving May 2...if our going to be around let me know...we would love to have dinner again. As far a moving to AZ...still not sure...we're concerned about having 2 homes that we only spend 1/2 of our time. We're considering renting each trip to AZ...but still considering all options.

McGee...If you had included me and Jack in that group...you wouldn't have lost...I always make money.

Winding down spring break week. Last Sunday Sarah and I had all 5 grandkids spend the night. Stayed with us from 1:00 Sunday to 4:00 Monday. Thank the Lord we had great weather. It was fun but may be a while before we have all 5 over at the Same time. Took Tuesday off. Cleaned, scraped the rust off and repainted our patio furniture Wednesday and Thursday. Yard work Friday and Saturday.
I need to go back to work, but have jury duty Tuesday. George Allen building downtown Dallas. Hope I don't get stuck on a contract dispute case.
See ya at the mini.

Everyone left for home just before noon.  Now I'm sitting here listening to the sounds of SILENCE waif thru the house like the fresh aroma of coffee in the morning.  Oh so sweet!

It was a good week . . .  nobody got hurt & nothing in the house got broken!    We went to one movie, We Bought a Zoo, and it was good.  Yesterday we took them to In-Sync Exotics in Wylie, it was out close to Bovie's house.  It's a non-profit sanctuary that takes in abused & neglected exotic animals.  They had lots of Tigers & Lions of all variaties and a couple of cougars & a few other animals.  You can get very up close to these magnificent animals & each one has a story about when it was born & when they rescued it & how it had been treated.   It was really neat to see these big cats looking so happy & having large clean areas to roam around.  It will make you want to give a donation to help them take care of these animals who have been so mistreated . . .  we did!

Ya'll have a good week & I'll catch you later.

The Golden Bears were defeated by the Knights of Kimball and Bisons of Sunset High Friday at Stevens Park. Myself, Tin Cup Capps, BR549 Bob Round and Botox Browning only made one Skin and ponied up the losers cash.
I suggested we meet before tee times next year and have a team breakfast of Bloody Mary's and Vodka Tonics. I may fly in Cheezehead Garoute and Cold Cash Dagley. Those boys can putt while intoxicated.
As a last resort I'll have Butkus Hughes and Happy Jack Hawkins just kick their butts.
Great time had by all, these guys have been good friends for 45 years.
