Sammy & Sarah: You've got a handsome little grandson. Happy Birthday to him. Sam, you and I need to get together and teach him how to throw rocks so he can get in trouble like we did in the 1st grade at Bushman. hahaha!!!!

Just to let you guys know, I am having surgery at 7:30 a.m. Friday, June 1, at Methodist Richardson hospital. My OLD gallbladder is being removed. Will be glad when it is over so I can feel better again. Right now, I am in pain all the time. Got a GREAT surgeon in Richardson, Dr. Gary White. So, I am not scared. I will be in good hands.
We are going to Abilene to see our granddaughter this coming weekend. Will be a busy trip, seeing as we have to attend the high school graduation of our son's niece (daughter-in-law's family) on Saturday morning, and then drive to Trent for a graduation party for her and two of her cousins. Hope I can stand it all with this gallbladder pain. My son told me the party will have lots of fatty BBQ. I told him we will most likely stop and get me a low-fat sandwich at Subway on the way to Trent.
I will have to drink water or tea. I was pretty much living on Diet Dr Pepper and Diet Coke for my drinks. About a month and a half ago, I completely gave up carbonated sodas. I had one Diet Dr Pepper about three weeks ago and it made me sick. Feel so much better not drinking soft drinks. I will probably have one every now and then, but nothing like I was doing. I cringe thinking about how much money I wasted on them. Nowadays, I drink coffee (limited), iced tea (unsweetened please...the ONLY way I have ever really liked it), water, and Crystal Lite.
I will keep you informed about the surgery.

Wow, I am so far behind on the GB. I try to check in at least once or twice a week but we have been so busy when not at work, with something going on every weekend. Shortcake, I really hope your knee gets better and better. I know you are tired of dealing with it. Jack, I hope that Glynda gets another job quickly. I will ask around.

Barb and Bobbie, so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember what a sweet and pretty woman Billie Jones was back at Trinity Heights Church of Christ years ago. And I know she made Barb's dad a happy man after Barb's mom passes away. She is in a happy place now.

To any others whose birthday, anniversary, etc. I might have missed, I hope you enjoyed them thoroughly. I have loved seeing all the beautiful grandones on the Pride and Joy page. Haven't hear from Don L. in a long while. Don, I hope your back is doing better and hope your brother Doug is doing well.

Great duck story, SNL. Bet your backyard looks fab now. We have spent a lot of time in ours too. Not enough time to do everything we'd like but Mike did manage to plant "one more tree" in the back yard. I am trying to get him in a 12 step program for his "tree addiction".

Susan- No time to crab camera, had to move quickly.  I think Don & I are going to take a walk to the park tda or tmo to see if we can find them & see if OK.

Got bk abt 7:30pm yesterday frm Lubbock.  We drove up Fri & had dinner that nite w/my bro, sis n law, their son, Laura (the graduate) & Laura's current boyfriend.  As you can image, Lubbock was hopping all wkend!!  Sat @ 9:00am was Graduation Day for Laura & it was so nice.  Tx Tech does it very well, lots of Pomp & Circumstance!  Very emotional for all of us & the other 4 - 5 thousand people in the area.  Had lunch w/family afterward & hit the road at 1:40 to head bk to Richardson.  Man what a long boring drive!!!  But all of you w/kids or G-kids from Tech know exactly what I'm talking about!  6 hrs of nothing but wind turbines & oil rigs bobbing up & down.  But it was a great wkend with family and we're all very proud of Laura.  Now I got to head to the store & get some groceries for this week.  Later folks . . . .

Wow Jim - A 4.3 earthquake is pretty strong, can't believe you slept thru it!   I haven't had a TV on tda, so missed hearing anything abt the quake.  But I did make a trip to the bank & heard on the radio that Donna summers has died at age 63!  Nothing else yet as it was just coming across the wire.

Had interesting experience yesterday.  Was in the hse & kept hearing a very loud quacking noise.  When I stepped outside I saw a lady pulling up the very heavy grates over the storm drain & I saw a momma duck & 4 ducklings running around.  I went out to see if I cd help her.  4 of 8 babies fell into the drain!!  I held the grates & she climbed in & pulled all 4 out.  Ea ran to its momma.  She told me she has been protecting them for 2 wks in her backyd waiting for the eggs to hatch.  She was walking them all the way from her hse (abt 3 blks away) & down the ally & then to cross the main rd (Brand) & over into Breckinridge Park!!  I offered to help & we gently guided them the remaining 3 blks, held up traffic so they cd cross the rd & then into the creek water in the park.  A first time for everything!! But all 8 ducklings & momma arrived safe & seemed happy to be in the water swimming.

Our niece, Laura, will be graduating from Tx Tech Sat mrng.  We will be there to cheer for her.  My bro is very happy... one down and only 1 more year to go for the other one!!  Ya'll have a good weekend, enjoy the beautiful weather!!

Guess I slept through the 4.3 magnitude earthquake this AM. It woke up Geneva and they were several reports throughout the county of shaking. The epicenter was about 12 - 14 miles from us in Shelby County ( Timpson ).

Jack, a good website for Glynda would be Robert Half Finance and Accounting. They match Accounting skills and experience with potential employers. Won't hurt to email or fax her resume to get the wheels turning.
Sarah hid my stash some time ago, so Cody whistles on his on without picture prompts,
