Place: Allen, TX Comments: I, too, have had loved ones who suffered from Alezheimers. It is horrible. It is bad enough for the sufferer; but, I it is harder on the loved ones and caregivers. My old friend, Steve, is SO lucky to have married the "love of his life," Janie. Having tried to help care for loved ones with Alezheimers, I know about the toll it takes on those who love the patient. I salute her decision to place Steve in a facility where he can get 24x7 care. It is simply TOO MUCH for one or two people to handle. Janie is such an inspiration with her displays of love and devotion to Steve. She is definitely a testimony to me on love and care. Janie, we all love you dearly. We shed tears with you. And, we are so thankful to know you. Remember that we are all here for you; so, call on us when you need help or simply a shoulder to cry on.
Place: Richardson Comments: Wanted to say "Thank You" to KMD for the donation ck she gave me Sat & also to Jim Young for the one I recvd this afternoon from him! And Jim, I appreciate the kind words! enclosed! A BIG THANKS to evreyone who sends or hands me cks. Ya'll are the ones who make it possible for us to have this website & GB!!
Place: Richardson Comments: AMEN Jerry!! Having had a parent with Alzheimer's and taking care of him for 15 yrs gives me even more empathy for Janie. There are no words to describe what it does to the person & to their families. Having a spouse w/Alz is even worse! Enough said.
Place: Houston Comments: Been away from posting for a while. I was buried under work most of the spring. I do come up for air and to check the GB every day or so and enjoy keeping up with what is being posted. Happy belated Bdays to those I have missed, happy anniv likewise. I do keep those in need in prayer. I was particularly moved by the Janie and Steve Gann link that SNL put up yesterday. I knew Steve fairly well back the the days when we attended Fernwood Baptist and played softball with him for several years. After reading the story in the link, I think each of us should take a little time to pause and be thankful for all that we have and take the time to visit and spend time with those we love. We never know when that may be taken away form us.
Place: Dallas Comments: Went to see Shortcake on my way home yesterday and she was doing great, of course she was still hooked up to her drugs!!! I am glad this surgery has been a little better for her. Hope today is a good day for her.

Place: Richardson Comments: This is a story a friend of Janie Jones Gann wrote about Janie & Steve Gann & his fight with Alzheimer's Disease. It was on FB, but I know not everyone is on FB. If you know Janie or Steve, or even if you don't, I believe you will find it heart warming and a good read. Click link below. http://ddpool.blogspot.com/2012/04/steve-and-janie.html?spref=fb
Place: Richardson Comments: Just t/w Karen Louton. She cld me & sd surgery went well & shd not be complications like last time. Place: Richardson Comments: For those of you who are name challenged, the pics now have names! ![]() Still no word from Bobby regarding Karen's surgery.
Place: Richardson Comments: Jack - Next time, I promise! ![]() Forgot to say, but when the mini pics loaded I also had a new pic of Lila, Ronney's new Grandone, on P&J pg. She's got the cutest smile!
Place: 66erville Comments: Great time at the mini. Enjoyed talking to the 63ers. Only had to put up with Dagley's and Roe's sports stories. You know how to keep a double-dipper out of your salsa? Keep the chips out of his reach!!! Fugate, when did you take up golf?? And baseball? You find a Robeson Ranch league to play in?? Most of you that didn't make it, were talked about. Rick showed up just in time to save himself!! Good place and service. Now if they only stocked Gentleman Jack it would be perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes, I'm waiting for Bobby to call or was hoping at least Toni might have heard from him. Nothing yet! Maybe he won't call until she's out of recovery . . . now I'm worried! Ya'll aren't crazy . . . . it's me!!!!!!!!
