Two things: Saturday is the DAY!! 1) We have more than 48 people who have said they will be there and several that might surprise us and make an appearance. 2) I haven't ask for any donations to our SOC Fund in 3 years. With all that was going on I didn't want to burden anyone. Although, one person sent me a $100 ck out of the blue. So now I'm asking, If you can, a donation at the Mini would be appreciated! Karen & Mike are driving up from Galveston, Janice & Randall from Waller and Carol is coming down from KC. You will fit right in. It's been way too long since I've seen you!!!

Place: The Woodlands, Texas Comments: Sandy, I have this "friend" who at one time was an Official Member of the Class of '66, but he hasn't paid his annual dues in like ... 10 years? Reckon there'd be room for him +1 at this weekend's shindig?
Place: Richardson Comments: Larry - It is May 21st at the Hilton, which used to be the Hyatt, there on Campbell @ Hwy 75 in Richardson. Sometime in the last 2 years Hilton took it over. It's still in the bar area but they redid the whole bar area and it's really pretty now. Lots of table & chairs and couches. Same time as always 2:00pm to 6:00pm. All the details are also posted on our Events page. Would really like to see you, so hope you can make it. And you're right Larry . . . we're losing too many classmates, so let's not waste the opportunity to finally get together after this long hiatus. Hope to see you and lots of our friends on Saturday!!!
Place: Kessler Park, Dallas Comments: I am so sorry to hear of Sammy's passing. I was undecided about coming to the mini, but time passing, along with so many of my classmates, has made it clear that there is no time like the present to catch up. Can someone give me the time and place again? I know it is the 21st, and I am looking forward to hearing from each and every one of you.

I know that many are as excited about our mini as I am! ā¤ļø pleaseā¦Pleaseā¦PLEASE donāt let some silly excuse keep you away from a great time with folks who love and care about you. My face may still look like I lost a battle with a door frame - but I will be there with (figurative) bells on! Love you guys! š
Place: OKC Comments: I hope many of you can make it and that you have a fabulous time. So many of you have āshared historiesā that it is great you can continue to build on friendships that began so many years ago. I envy you in that regard as I didnāt join you until SOC and canāt reminisce with you on the great times growing up together. I wish for you the greatest Mini ever! š„³š„³š„³

Place: Richardson Comments: Ron, it's nice to hear from you & obviously you're still working and traveling with the government. I do wish you had been able to swing by TX for the Mini. I'm so sorry to learn of your brother's passing. It's really tough loosing a sibling. My heartfelt condolences on your loss Ron. Paul - I hate you & Kathy won't be able to make the trip to Dallas for our long awaited Mini. I know it gets tough trying to schedule time to see G-kids because they all have busy schedules (ours are either attending practice, playing a game or in some kind of camp) and then you have to keep up with your treatment appointments. Take care and we'll get together soon. Great news to hear Karen & Jimmie are going to be able to be there for about an hour or so. Everyone please make the effort to be there at 2:00pm when it begins as some can only stay a short while. If you come really late you may miss some of us. Mini starts at 2:00pm, be on time!
Place: Orange, VA Comments: Sorry to read about Sammy Smith's passing. He was a good friend. I didn't know he went to Lisbon. I went there and became a "plank holder" at Clara B. Oliver. About the only ones I remember from Lisbon were Robert Dobbs (he lived the other end of Maryland, down by Boude Storey and I think Mike Dunn went there too. I won't make the mini, I'll be traveling to Kentucky the following week. Some of you may have known my brother "Bob" He graduated from Samuell's in 1970. He went on to Texas A&M and took over my room in Puryear Hall and my mailbox for four years. He passed away the Saturday after Thanksgiving in 2021.
Place: OKC Comments: +2 then -2 as Kathy and I have had a schedule change and will be out of reach on Saturday and wonāt make the Mini. We hope everyone has a great time. |
