Place: Coppell Comments: Just returned from Top Sail Beach in N.C. Sat night. Caught baby shark off the pier. Will post picture of Jaw's great great grandone on Facebook.Have four days before we head to Orange Beach @Gulf Shores ,AL. SNL, our five grandkids love Andy Brown East; especially the outdoor's pool and Kid Country. We look forward for all the family to come over for a cookout and then to "Pop and Nana's pool". See all when we return from Gulf Shores.
Place: Richardson Comments: Well, the triplets left yesterday about 1:30. We had a great week with them. The Andy Brown Park in Coppell is fabulous!! We did something everyday and still worked in going swimming in our neighborhood pool everyday. They are at that great age where they think Mimi & PapaDon are very smart & know everything!! Hope we get another year or two B4 they figure it out!I posted some cute new pics of Lila. Ronney, sorry I didn't get them posted lasts wk, but no time to use the PC with 3 seven year olds running around! I recvd 3 of those emails fro BubbleLife. Guess I got Jack & Susan's Em! Jack - Loved the Em you sent about the Shortest Books Ever . . . ![]()
Place: 66erville Comments: Good to see you posting, Coasty Don! Either you are just lucky or somewhere (here?) you posted your email address in conjunction with SOC. I have not received anything from them. I did check out the site and didn't find much of interest. Might be a good site for those currently in or near Oak Cliff. It is a shame what has happened to Oak Cliff. It was always the prettiest part of Dallas.
Place: FW Comments: Don L, I haven't received anything from Bubble Life. I used the link you placed in your message to check it out. It's an interesting site and I'll probably check it occasionally. Thanks for sending it.
Place: LV, TX Comments: FYI - Rcvd an unsolicited e-mail yesterday, excerpt:
I re-scanned that e-mail & the1st newsletter rcvd today to ensure they're safe. The contents don't appear to be strange orthreatening & aren't asking for anything private or financial, at leastyet.
Place: Cypress springs Comments: A very hectic week....sister, brother-in-law and mom were here from Sunday to Wednesday and then Bobby's brother and sister-in-law came in til yesterday. Johnny helped bobby remove the front wall to put on windows....it is going to look great. But I had to work around therapy 3 days a week. Really sore. My grandson is here now but he is no problem...love having him here...he helps his grandfather....he says when we are gone this house belongs to him and Shelby. Better keep my eye on him. He has been bringing his girlfriends here to jet ski (he has about 15). He said they are just friends...better that way. Lol
Place: HOT NYC Comments: Thinking of you all in this sweltering heat. June is supposed to be in the 70's, not the 90's and the concrete is really hot! It it out third day and we are wimps! Hopefully, we will get some relief soon but I know I should not complain to a Texan!
Place: Sachse Comments: Spent a most enjoyable afternoon on Wednesday playing golf, well they played I mostly just followed around in the woods and long grass. Great time with a great group of people. Mr. Browning, Mr. Dagley, Mr. Hughes, Mr. McGee and Da Bears of 67. We played the Dallas Golf Club on Red Bird Lane in south-south Oak Cliff. They tell me it used to be a country club. A very nice course and a reminder of just how pretty Oak Cliff is. In the middle of the course is the grounds keeper's house. Those new bright yellow balls are easier to find than the white ones unless you hit too close to the practice area
Place: Richardson Comments: Yikes Jack, didn't know the tickets were that high! But doesn't that also include food? And goodness knows you can also put away a good share of that! Oh what the heck . . . I'll donate a $1 to the endeavor.I'm waiting for Don to get here about 12:30 with Dylan, Daniel & April - aka The Triplets. Hope these clouds hold for another day as it wd be great for them to enjoy the big playground w/o 100* plus weather. Last year we had the HEAT WAVE early. At 101* we were at the playground for 4 hrs & at 103* we were at the Zoo all day!! Hopefully it will be a few degrees cooler this yr!! Oh, I've got cute Grandone pics to post . Will do shortly. Later guys . . .
Place: 66erville Comments: Thanks for the heads-up, SNL. I'm sure I would enjoy it too!! The tickets are kinda pricey. I've been known to put away a fair share of whiskey, but I'm not sure I could drink $125.00 worth. Now if someone wanted to set up a "send Jack to the whiskey festival" fund and everybody sent a few dollars, well that would be a different matter. If everybody is feeling REALLY charitable, I really would like (and need) to go to golf camp.
Place: Richardson Comments: Shortcake - Done. Jack-I've been hearing an ad for a Whiskey Festival that will be held in Dallas in Oct. Sounded like something you'd enjoy! The advertised site is www.dallaswhiskeyfestival.com Don's leaving early this afternoon to head to Driftwood to PU the triplets. He'll head back with them in the mrng early. Can't wait to see them!!! Have big wk planned with trips to Children's Aquarium at Fair Park, A big wooden playground in Coppell, Sandy Lake Park, swimming in our neighborhood pool and anything else we can find to do! Maybe a little baseball in the park one mrng before it gets too hot. Ya'll have a good week . . .
Place: Cypress Springs Comments: Happy fathers day to all of our SOC dads...hope you have a great day. SNL ...send me your recipe also pls
Place: Richardson Comments: Susan, glad Jake & you enjoyed the egg casserole. We also like to have "breakfast" for dinner sometimes! During the winter I've even fixed us a big bowl of chili & then scrambled some eggs. Put the eggs in the chili, it cuts the grease & is really good. Ronney - I sent you a pvt em with the recipe attached. Enjoy! Carol - it's so nice to hear from you. I'm sorry you lost your friend/co-worker due to retirement. When we work with people for a long time they become more than co-workers, they become friends & sometimes almost like family. But good news is . . . he retired, he didn't pass away! ![]() I'm watching the Ranger game & bottom of the 6th was unbelieveable! We got 5 runs!! Gentry even beat out a run down!!!
Place: KC, MO Comments: Rick, your story brought tears to my eyes. What sweethearts you and the Korean War vet are. I'm feeling sorry for myself today. One of our team members retired yesterday, and I'm really going to miss him. He had worked for the NAIC for about 14 years. For over twelve of those years we were on the same team and "officed" next to each other. It's sort of like a family member has moved away. I'm happy for him and his wife, but I'm sad for me. Father's Day wishes to all to whom they apply. Enjoy tomorrow and let yourselves be spoiled. Love to all - Carol
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Sammy: may a tiny little shark bite off your little toe. LOL Hope you and Sarah have a great time. I told my friends with the Coppell police department where the gold coins are hidden and we made a deal. They will get into the house to get the coins and we will spit them 50/50. OH, and I called your post office and they promised NOT to open the mail that comes in plain brown envelopes and wrapped in plastic. They also promised not to tell Sarah about those items. So, you're safe. Thanks. |
