Place: Allen, TX Comments: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL OF MY FELLOW SOCITE-FATHERS AND GRANDFATHERS!! We went to see the movie "Prometheus" in "XD and Real 3-D," last night. It was part of my Father's Day gift. Although they don't say it in advertisements, it is obviously the prequel to the 1979 movie, "Alien." I really liked it. Lots of great tension and suspense. Ridley Scott, who directed "Alien," also directs this new movie. So, the style is the same. The giant humanoids' space ship is exactly like the crashed space ship at the first part of "Alien," where they found the pods and the alien embryos." The ship looks like a giant large intestine. LOL. Really!!! Just like it did in "Alien." And, there are other things that have been kept the same. Interesting story line, too. Connie had been given a rather generous gift card to Cinemark, so we splurged to see it in 3-D; but, it would be just as good in a regular format.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: SNL, would you send me that recipe, too?
Place: FW Comments: SNL, I made your breakfast casserole for dinner last night and it turned out great! Jake loves it! The only change I made was to add a handfull of chopped green bell pepper and onions. Thanks again for the recipe!
Place: Coppell Comments: Getting ready to watch Nik Wallenda walk across the falls. Where's the net?
Place: Cypress springs Comments: That is good Sam...you want to just draw a map and give out keys.
Place: Soon to be the beach Comments: Finalized everything before the Super Shuttle picks us up at 4:50 tom morning for our trip to Top Sail Beach. Held the mail at Coppell post office and Coppell police will do daily and nightly drive buys and parameter checks. Will set the home alarm system in case anyone tries to break in and steal my 1,000 ounces of gold coins in a green box labeled "toys" located on the top shelf of the closet in our last bedroom on the left off the hall way. Will be thinking of you guys as we are dipping our toes in the Atlantic and sipping on Margarita's. Sam
Place: Oregon Comments: You know Roe, I would have expected nothing less from you, it's great to be able to help others.
Place: Dekalb Comments: Everything grown is given away, Harvest Texarkana Organization, Dekalb Hope, Neighbors and the Church. The Garden is for sharing. If anyone needs Fresh vegs come pick it.
Place: Cypress springs Comments: Hi guys.....ii am here! But by the time I relax from pt, I am worn out. Sorry...I will be over this someday and harassing you as usual!
Place: Sachse Comments: Roe, is your garden producing enough where you have a roadside stand? I can pictue you sitting in a lawn chair beside your truck with the tailgate down and produce in the back.
Place: Northeast, Tx Comments: The Rain Gods have been good to us, next wk well be cutting Hay, the Garden is producing & life is good.
Place: Richardson Comments: Jack, that is amazing that you got all that rain plus small hail & I didn't get a single drop! Wonder if KMD got rain or Nada? BUT . . . we got rain early this mrng & it was great!! Our watering days are Sun & Wed. Sure helps the trees & grass!! (and my water bill) Rickypoo - Kudos for your kindness. I'm a firm believer of "what goes around . . . comes around"! Paying it forward has it's own special rewards.
Place: Sachse Comments: It is amazing that you got nothing, SNL. We had a DOWNPOUR proceeded and followed by small hail (and not a lot) here. Heard the hail hitting the gutters, moved some stuff in the garage and opened the door to move my car inside and it was raining cats and dogs. When it lightened up I put the car in garage and shortly after that it hailed again. Again, small and not a lot. Had a pretty good shower this morning too. My watering days are Wed and Sat. Don't think I'll need it tomorrow. Great ending to a great story, Rick. It is a shame nobody was interested in paying you for the ring, but you got a big plus in the "karma" department. I used to have a T shirt that said I was a member of the second place team in the southeast Asia war games. But it seems to have shrunk so I tossed it. Not many seemed to "get it" anyway. James you need to chime in more often and let us know what's happening in east Texas.
Place: Richardson Comments: Rick, what a nice thing to do for someone you don't even know. But I'm sure that ring means more to uncle Sonny than it ever could to you. You are so sweet to let him keep it.
Place: bigD Comments: Hay Jack, In response to your request for more postings I have one. If you remember My Koren war ring that I loaned to Eugene to show his uncle Sonny who was in the Koren war. He got it back for me over the weekend. He said Uncle Sonny shows it around the nursing home where he lives and brags about being a war hero. He thinks the ladies pay him more attention since he got the ring. Well he was asleep and Eugene slipped it off his finger and took it home. Uncle sunny called him and said he lost the ring and wanted to know if eugene had seen it. Eugene said no and he brought it back to me today. End of story ? No, I told him to take it back to Sonny and find a place to put it where Sonny can find it or say he found it in a shirt pocket in the closet. It's Uncle Sonny's ring now. It's a small sacrafice to pay for the happyness of a Koren "War Hero". |
