HI Rhonda!! Glad you found us and hope you will be a regular. Check out the tabs on the main page for pictures and info.
Rick, I think Oak Cliff Bloomers is a face book thing, not a web site. Those of us who don't facebook just are not in the know and up to date. Toni, you still farming there??

The weekly local newspaper, The Sachse News, comes on Thursday. I just finished reading my copy. I was pleasantly surprised to find an article over half a page in length on the BMF Project. A very informative article including many quotes from Michael Fugate about the goals and accomplishments of the project. They had a very successful volleyball tourney/fund raiser recently. I hope the Fugates won't mind if I let the cat out of the bag about the golf tourney. The article said it is scheduled for Oct 5th at Riverchase Golf Club in Coppell. I know it is still aways off, but I hope all our golfers will mark the calendar and make plans to play. I'll send an email to Buddy and Bob Round so they can let "Da Bears" golf group know. Even if you don't play, it is a fun day followed by a good meal and presentation. Although they probably won't ask, I'll bet they could use some volunteers to help get things done.

Couldn't get close to the C/F in my neighborhood!  For many of you locals that may have watched the news report on 5, 8 and 11, about the house in Weston, Texas that burned on 7/31, and about the two women that perished in that fire - that was my stepson, Stephen's maternal grandmother and materal aunt!  Please say a prayer for the Barnett/Kissinger/Hendricks families.

Not sure if any of you remember, but I remember having a teacher, and I believe he was either a math or science teacher, at Zumwalt by the name of Dan Wilder.  I read his obituary today.  He passed away on 7/31.  He served as a teacher/administrator with DISD for 30+ years.  He was one of the sweetest teachers I ever had!  RIP, Mr. Wilder.

I'm glad to see some of you were willing to brave the long lines.  My daughter and I waited an hour inside the one at Wheatland and
Hampton.  Glad to see people are standing up for what (we) they believe in.
Tomorrow (Friday) is the day of the protest, be sure ad make a run for CF in the mornig , noon or evening.

We went to the Chik Fil A in Forney with Marsha and her three kids. Took 2 hours waiting in line, but was well worth the wait.

I tried. 3 Times I went by a Chick Fila and couldn't get CLOSE to one. Full Parking lots, cars lined up around the store. People were even parking in near by parking lots and walking over. Really makes you feel good, doesn't it? It is a shame you can't get that kind of turn out for other important things. It will be interesting to see if and how the "news" covers it!

Hi, everyone!

Shortcake, the answer to your question is YES.  Stopped by on my way to work for breakfast - may go again this evening.

I'm sure that all who have supported Mr. Cathy's right to express his Christian beliefs will be called homophobic bigots - you know, sort of like all who oppose Obama's policies are called racists.  Oh, well - stupid goes all the way to the bone.

Good wishes and love to all - Carol

(Did any of you in the Dallas area attend the Restoring Love activities?)

I'd like to have whatever Shortcake has been having!  I'd really love to close the windows when it's 60-75 degrees outside...lol.  We are not feeling your chill, Karen!!  Quit bragging about being cold unless you can capture so of that cool air and bring it back with you

Don/Barbara....so glad to know that Kellye is home and about to go through rehab.....she is a real trooper isn't she?

You are right Linda, it is a pretty little town.  You can see it all in a couple ofhours.  We took the train two years ago to the top of the mountain and ate lunch.  If you ever ride it take the train up and the bus down.  Samething with the train in Durango.  Actually the durango train is the better one.  Just be sure you get in a closed car.

It is 60 degrees here right now.  This morning it was 54 when we got up.

Be good...see ya!

Glad that Kellye is doing better.  No matter how old our children are, we worry about them.

Karen, in 1995 we drove thru Chama on our way to Yellowstone & Rudy got a speeding ticket from an unfriendly policeman/trooper.  After we got in town we did enjoy taking pics and walking around the train area and I believe that we ate there; it's just been too long to remember where we ate.  It was a pretty little town.

Barb, glad to hear Kellye came through with no problems. Tell her to do her rehab work and when she's ready, dust off her dancing shoes! I'm looking forward to twirling her around the dance floor again.
Careful, Shortcake, that you don't get frostbit up there.
