Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks John, I always appreciate anyone who spots something about one of our SOC family. Unfortunately, this time it is due to the passing of Kristina Roman. This is 5 since our 45th reunion, less than a year ago! Our prayers and condolences to her husband and the rest of her family. Smiley, have you been saving these up while you've been on hiatus from the GB?? WELCOME BACK!!
Place: 66erville Comments: Ms. Kick-A**, Ada, it's August. Surely by now the snow has melted and the lines on communications have been re-established with the outside world. Why have we not heard from you? I'll bet you have pictures Sophie you have not shared with us. How about letting us hear from you?? Don't be like those "left coasters" who we never hear from.
Place: Sachse Comments: Hey Carol, did you go the Royals - Rangers game today?? I thought I saw you sitting behind 1st base. You were wearing a bikini top!!
Place: FW Comments: Sorry to hear about Kristina Roman. I believe we had several classes together over the years. She was always very nice to me.
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: Some of you may remember Kristina Roman from the halls of SOC High. She had a sister Juanita in the class ahead of mine (that would be '62). http://obits.dignitymemorial.com/dignity-memorial/obituary.aspx?n=Kristina-Smock&lc=4270&pid=158942708&mid=5194185&locale=en-US Also, Mrs. Gerbetz mentioned earlier had a daughter Liz in my class. They lived about a block from Laurel Land. One year they won one of Rin Tin Tin's puppies as I recall.
Place: Bayfield Comments: I should have known youwould come up with something smiley!
Place: Garland USA Comments: How did we not see Dale Smiley coming back with his sage remarks? It happens to us everytime...lol! Good one, Dale!
Place: RIP Comments: Shortcake, I know what you mean. We go up to Colorado for three weeks during elk season and hunt with bows. Due to the cold we have a fire ring in camp and always serve snacks and hors d'oeuvres. We usually serve beer nuts or deer nuts. The beer nuts are just mixed salty nuts served with various bevereges and cost about $7.95 a pound. Deer nuts are under a buck.
Place: Richardson Comments: Wow, haven't been her for 4 days & now i see people who have been absent for over a year!! Nothing like a little chick conflict to bring out the hens!! Smiley - Rumor had it you died. Glad to see you haven't lost it . . . I laughed so hard while listening to that video!! Thanks for making my day!! KRL - I'm with Toni . . . zip it about the cold weather!!! After 3 weeks (1 wk with ea one of the triplets) out in the HEAT, I'm done. We've been to the Ft Wth Zoo, Sandy Lake Park (twice), Mini Golf 3 times, and an all day swim day! No more out in this 100++ weather 3 -4 hrs at a time . . . I can't take it any more! I'm wilted! KRL, you have nothing on me when it comes to Happy Hour. Mine is every day btwn 4 -5. When the kids were here for so long, sometime they started earlier & stretched a little longer! ![]() Toni - I'm so sorry to learn that was your step-son's Mother & Aunt that perished in the house fire. What a tragedy. My prayers to you & your entire family. Don & I like Chick-Fil-A. We eat a CF sandwich for lunch about once a wk now that we are both retired. More power to Mr. Cathy!!! It is a pvt Co & he has every right to say how he feels & WE have every right to support him by buying from him. If the protesters don't like what he says, then they should not go there to buy their food. Nice to see McMakin, Carol, Smiley, RN, Toni and the many others posting here. It's about time some of ya'll showed up! Ya'll are still the funniest & best grp around.
Place: Garland USA Comments: Knock...knock....anyone home?? Yet another teacher, Elizabeth Gerbetz Shields, passed away recently. She was a teacher at T. L. Marsalis, and I believe she was the librarian if I have my thinking-cap on straight!! I believe she was the teacher that came to my rescue when Ronney McKee brought his new pet snake to class.
Place: Bayfield, Colorado Comments: That was great Dale. Still keeping cool here....54 this morning and not supposed to get alout warmer today. Really pretty. Wehave happy hour every night at 5. We have a large tent to meet under. Next week we will all meet at 6 in the tent and have dinner and every night we have a fire pit to keep warm. They are having fireworks for us next week also. The food is always great. We also bring snacks for happy hour.....interesting to see what everyone comes up with. Need to get in the shower....we are checking out some zip lining places for the group to go to for next week. Last year we went hang gliding.
