This is the YouTube Memorial Day tribute to veterans who died in Vietnam and were graduates of SOC classes 1963-1967.

It's great to learn from so many here and on FB that they had as great a time Saturday as I did!  I had so much fun seeing and talking with everyone, it did my heart good!  Thanks for posted Lynell, John, Larry, Carol B, Carol C, Karen and all the notes on FB.

We will do it again in the Fall.  One last time for you newbies, go to any page on our site and put your cursor over the tab that says "Our Photos".  3 options will appear under it, click on Mini Get-Togethers" and all our mini photos will appear.  If you want to understand why these Minis are so important to attend . . .  Just scroll down the page and look at the last Mini or even the one before that and see how many people have passed away since then!  Each Mini is important, you may not get a chance to see a good friend at the next one. [frown]

Thank you for the nice comment below. I'm not really that "funny", I just have a mouth that rats me out whenever my brain is off duty (which is frequently). Looks like you traveled quite a ways to hang with your old SOC buddies. I admire your gregarious spirit!

SNL, what a great turn-out!  Loved the shots you posted. But mostly, I enjoyed all the stories & laughter.  I needed that.  There just wasn't enough time to make the rounds.  It was wonderful to visit with old friends again (Karen, Larry, Richard, Barb, Don, Bovie, etc.) and some new ones too!  And like I mentioned on FB before the event, we have a "common history" leading up to and including our years at SOC...that's what matters most.

By the way, I'm sorry I missed meeting you, John Southworth.  I know you don't know me at all, but your FB comments always crack me up.  You're so spot-on funny [smile], and I'm like: "I wish I'd said that". 

Kindest regards to everyone; hopefully we'll do this again some day!

Don’t know how I missed seeing Linda Rich.And sorry I didn’t get to talk with Lynell from ‘63 because I always enjoy her funny posts. It’s hard to believe that we have been able to maintain friendships for so many years. Hope we can make the next one.

I have all my photos posted on our site Me and the new Cannon seemed to do OK. Pics look great!  I haven't put names on them yet but it's been a long day and I'm whipped.  I also will post some of the pics Karen Louton sent me.  She has some different ones and I will add them tomorrow, that's why there is a space at the end of the photo Album.  I'll also add all the names too.

On the Home page put your cursor over the Our Photos tab along the banner & click on Mini Get-Togethers.  There's a lot of photos so give the album time for all of it to come up. Then click the first pic & scroll thru it.  Enjoy!

John, I was so happy to see you & Dru and David & Lynell.  How interesting that Kay was your neighbor back in school.  I keep saying, all us SOCites are connected in one way or another.  We're kind of like that "7 steps to Kevin Bacon" theory! 

I'm in the process of getting all my pictures posted on our site.  I have a good one of you & me and also of you, Dru and me.  You are also with a lot of other people because everyone wanted to meet the infamous John Southworth!  [crazy]

Sandy, you did a FINE job of selecting a site for the mini. It was open and inviting, easy access. Dru and I had a wonderful time. I'm surprised at how many from your class I recognized. I guess it's from years of following folks on Facebook and your SOC guestbook. I enjoyed visiting with Tillery, Hawkins, Roe, Randall & Janice, the Fugates, Carol C., dang ... there's so many. Del Regno, Karen & Bobby and my old neighbor Kay Franklin (what a surprise to see her there). Don L. and your Don, Karen & Mike, my '63 pals David & Lynell Smith. Linda P. Rich and Jana L., I regret running out of time to get over to you. Was hoping my old Calcutta Drive neighbor Eileen Sandifer might show, but no. Dale & Yuvonne, James Young, you guys missed a good one! Oh, and Thank You Dallas for the cold snap Saturday evening.

"Didn't We Have A Good Time, Baby!"  Oh yeah!  Thank you to each and every one of you who made it to to the Mini yesterday.  It made my heart sing to see all of you in person rather than FB.  There were 51 people who came yesterday!  The area was loud and boisterous because it was filled with laughter and everyone getting reacquainted and having fun. Pictures will follow in 1-2 days on our site.

** Also, very important, Thank You to everyone who contributed to the SOC Kitty yesterday!  Our SOC Fund was feeling a little depleted since our big B-day bash in Sept. 2018 and then when the pandemic set in . . .   But, thanks to the generosity of so many that contributed yesterday, Kitty is in good shape again.  [love] [thumb]

Sandy and the other ‘66ers, thank you for letting this old gal from ‘63 come to your shindig today. It was good to see everyone. My husband and I had a lovely time visiting! How lucky are we all to have such lasting friendships? We really did come from a special place and time.
