Place: North Richland Hills, TX Comments: I've been dreading this announcement. Jimmy could keep me in stitches, laughing like crazy. He was always the life of the party. I didn't know him as long as some of you, but he was always very dear to me. The last time I saw him was at one of the minis. Rest in peace, my dear friend.
Place: Waller, TX Comments: It is hard to learn that Jimmy Martin has passed. Randall and I send our condolences and sympathy to all-family and friends, all who knew him. I recall seeing Jimmy in the waiting area of the dermatologist we were seeing at that time. I could not believe that a SOC66 classmate just happened to be in this office at the same time. Randall recalls cutting up with Jimmy in choir at SOC66. He will be missed. He always smiled. He always had a smile on his face. God bless his loved ones. Janice and Randall Sims

Place: OKC Comments: For years I have been saying the US is descending into incompetence. Think back on work you have had done for you or your experiences with the service industry. How many times was the job done well or done right…the first time? Think about medical visits or medical procedures you or friends have experienced. I am convinced that things like attention to detail, really focusing on a quality product, or making a real effort to do a task and do it right are sacrificed to just wanting to get paid a good salary for whatever quality and quantity of work is produced. I am glad to be out of the workforce.
Place: Richardson Comments: I know, it's been a ton of people but, that's been a span of over 40 yrs. ERCOT needs to get their act together and take plants off-line during the off months and update and maintain them, not wait until the hottest part of TX summer to say they can't maintain them because they're in-use! Try doing maintenance and repair during Mar, Apr & May, Sept, Oct, Nov. and any other time when the forecast isn't for a sleet & snow blizzard or 100 plus heat all month. Make me wonder what they've done since the Feb 2021 debacle. Sorry, ERCOT just makes me so mad that they have been using the same excuse for years. Anyway, hope you're having a good Saturday and getting around better each day!
Place: North Richland Hills, TX Comments: Sandy, just think of the people who have moved into the DFW area since 1980.
Place: Richardson Comments: Yeah, most of us around the area got a surprise quick shower Thursday. Didn't last too long but made temps go down to low 80s. It was a good relief for a day. Unfortunately, the darn forecast for next 10 days is Hot & Sunny with 100 or more each day. Water bills are high and movie theater parking lots are full. Now they're discussing if the TX Grid can hold up. Funny, back in 1980 with the worst heat wave ever, 69 straight days of 100 or more, we never lost power. Even when DFW recorded the hottest day ever here . . . 113 two days straight! Yet now it can't handle it!! Incompetence at it's finest. I'm going today to see if I can buy a battery operated fan . . . just in case. |
