Place: LV, TX Comments: Folks - If you read Rick Mitchell's obituary, near the bottom it stated: SPCA of Texas - Dallas Location
Place: Cypress, Texas Comments: Greetings Friends, Wow I haven't been on here in ages... shame on me ! I have always kept up with everyone on FB. I was hacked big time a couple of months ago. Someone has control of my account. Trying to get help has been a nightmare. Deleted my account two times... but to no avail. I was told that if all my friends on FB would send a report that someone has control of my FB, they would delete account and I can start over. If you have time, I would appreciate your help. My contact information is 713-557-0861 or mgoins64@att.net. Just goggle FB Hacked. So sorry to read the loss of so many friends. Seems to be the season of our lives... it STINKS! On a happier note.... I ran into Janice Scallion in the Costco parking lot a month ago... then again last week. So excited to see her and we live very close to one another. We are planning a get together soon. She reminded me about the reunion but, Bill was having surgery. He had to have a peacemaker put in. Nothing wrong with his heart, it was his pulse that was too low. He has always had what is known as a athletic heart, which is low pulse. He is a endorphin junky and swimming is his drug! Can't swim for three months pretty pissed off about that but, he is walking a couple of miles a day. The man is turning 85 in December and still is the ever ready bunny. Hope to make the fall mini! Love and hugs to all. Mary
Place: North Richland Hills, TX Comments: I just read Rick's obituary. It was very nice for a very nice guy.
Place: Rick Mitchell's Obit. Comments: Brenda just sent the obit for Rick to me. It's really nice and captures him perfectly. Click to read. https://www.emeraldhillsfuneralhome.com/obituary/Charles-Mitchell
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes, Rick Mitchell was a very good man. He was kind, very smart, caring and yet so soft spoken. The loss of Rick is a real heart breaker. Prayers for Brenda & the rest of his family.
Place: McKinney Comments: SNL Thank you for taking so many wonderful pictures at the mini. So many memories still being made. So sorry for the passing of Rick Mitchell. Blessings and condolences to his family. Linda
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: I’m so sad to learn of Rick’s passing. What a good man he was. 😢
Place: NH Comments: I am so sorry to hear about Ricky. He was a good guy.
Place: Another classmate gone Comments: Thank you Don for the call & for posting this. I can't believe Rick Michell is gone. He drug himself to our Mini because he wanted to see everyone even though he was in severe pain due to his knees. My heart is broken, again, and I'm just devastated. Don L. will post the Family Visitation and other info as soon as Brenda, Rick's wife, makes the arrangements and gives it to Don. RIP and say hello to Odis, Randy and David.
Place: Lago Vista, TX Comments: Folks - It is with deep sadness that I forward this excerpt from an e-mail I received a short while ago from Brenda Mitchell: “Don, thanks so much for talking with me. I'm so glad I was able to get ahold of you.
Place: OKC Comments: Shortcake, hearing what a good time you all had makes me 😭 and El Fenix and I are very old pals. I will make sure (as much as anyone can) our schedule in the Fall locks in our attendance. I am glad everyone had a good, no make that great, time. Paul
Place: Kerrville Comments: We had a really great time talking with everyone at the mini. Dinner at El Fenix was, as always great and brought back great memories. Really missed some of our regulars. Hope you are doing well and can join us next time. thanks for all the work planning it Sandy. It was well worth it.
Place: Richardson Comments: the heat is on . . . hope everyone's A/C is working! I just finished posting the name of a good friend on the "In Memoriam" page. You'd think it would get easier after more than 100 . . . but it doesn't. RIP Sammy, you are dearly missed.
Place: Richardson Comments: Richard, my heart goes out to you as it can't be easy to stay there in your town where you primarily live and see and feel all the sadness and anger that's everywhere. Uvalde will never be the same.
Place: Uvalde Comments: I had to get away from Uvalde again for a few days. It’s my father’s birthday so I visited the family gravesite at Laurel Land where many SOCites have loved ones. Then I drove over to Kiest Park where everyone used to drive around endlessly on weekends looking for love….or underage beer donations, etc. Took a photo of the old pavilion where my band, Stevie Ray, and others had impromptu unauthorized performances in the 1960’s. Our elders would slip us free beers as compensation for our music. With the references to beer, yes I realize I sound like a certain US Supreme Court Justice 😉⚖️ |
