Place: OKC Comments: For years I have been saying the US is descending into incompetence. Think back on work you have had done for you or your experiences with the service industry. How many times was the job done well or done right…the first time? Think about medical visits or medical procedures you or friends have experienced. I am convinced that things like attention to detail, really focusing on a quality product, or making a real effort to do a task and do it right are sacrificed to just wanting to get paid a good salary for whatever quality and quantity of work is produced. I am glad to be out of the workforce.
Place: Richardson Comments: I know, it's been a ton of people but, that's been a span of over 40 yrs. ERCOT needs to get their act together and take plants off-line during the off months and update and maintain them, not wait until the hottest part of TX summer to say they can't maintain them because they're in-use! Try doing maintenance and repair during Mar, Apr & May, Sept, Oct, Nov. and any other time when the forecast isn't for a sleet & snow blizzard or 100 plus heat all month. Make me wonder what they've done since the Feb 2021 debacle. Sorry, ERCOT just makes me so mad that they have been using the same excuse for years. Anyway, hope you're having a good Saturday and getting around better each day!
Place: North Richland Hills, TX Comments: Sandy, just think of the people who have moved into the DFW area since 1980.
Place: Richardson Comments: Yeah, most of us around the area got a surprise quick shower Thursday. Didn't last too long but made temps go down to low 80s. It was a good relief for a day. Unfortunately, the darn forecast for next 10 days is Hot & Sunny with 100 or more each day. Water bills are high and movie theater parking lots are full. Now they're discussing if the TX Grid can hold up. Funny, back in 1980 with the worst heat wave ever, 69 straight days of 100 or more, we never lost power. Even when DFW recorded the hottest day ever here . . . 113 two days straight! Yet now it can't handle it!! Incompetence at it's finest. I'm going today to see if I can buy a battery operated fan . . . just in case.
Place: OKC Comments: No ‘breaks” here. Hot and dry…hot and dry…hot and dry. Here’s to our pioneer ancestors who had no cooling but the kind God provides every so often. 🌞🔥🌵🔥🌞. Try to stay cool.
Place: Riochardson Comments: About an hour ago it clouded up and then heavy thunder. All of a sudden an 8 to 9 minutes cloudburst came down. Temps dropped to a cool 83! It was heavenly! Still cloudy so maybe no 100 plus today. Nice unexpected break.
Place: Kerrville Comments: Yep - it was 107 here in Kerrville yesterday. No rain. Our Koi ponds have been turned off to conserve water. Mine is really deep so I have not had problems. My koi seem happy At this point. Hopefully will not loose any. The water is really warm. Stay in and drink lots of water.
Place: Richardson Comments: You got that right Dale! Another week forecast, at least for next 7 days, to be at least 101 to 104 everyday here in our area and with plenty of sunshine all day. Our last bit of rain was June 3rd. Sure makes me appreciate central A/C because back home in Oak Cliff we had one window unit and fans in each room. Do your errands early, before noon, because walking across hot parking lots and in/out of extremely hot cars will suck the life right out of you.

Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: Spring has sprung, Fall has fell, Summer's here, and it's hot as usual.
Place: Hotter Than a Firecracker in Richardson Comments: It appears the TX heat, 100 plus, has set in to stay awhile. Just trying to stay cool and keep the grass alive. Hope the TX Electric Grid holds up all month as it looks to be a doozie.
Place: Richardson Comments: Happy 4th of July Everyone!
