Good news about Sally, she is here in Galveston with her daughter, and we are getting together tomorrow. I will be sure to tell her she is in your thoughts and concerns.

Well folks, round three. Back to the gastroenterologist last Thursday. Sigmoidoscopy scheduled for tomorrow morning @ 7:30 to determine why I am still bleeding. I will have more banding, possibly more cauterization of the radiation sight and he should advise me why I have blood clots. Third times the charm as there will not be a 4th procedure of this type. Will post tomorrow the results. I covet your prayers once again. Thanks.

Hello to all!!

Happy Birthday, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone for the next few years.  (I don't visit this site often)

My grand daughter, my lab and Pit are awaiting the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.  We are honkered down with all errands and chores complete.  Lots of great food, games to play and looking forward to a glass (or 3) of Merlot to drink later this evening.  My granddaugher says that the entire east coast is upset with me.  I never quite thought of myself as a hurricane.  Please keep the people living in this area in your prayers.  The winds and rain are picking up enormously.

Say it isn't so about the demise of "Big Tex"!!!!  However, I did see this in the USA Today and read that a newer (bigger? of course I say, he is in Texas) version will be back and in place for the fair next year.   So many good memories of having such a great time at the fair as I know you all have as well.

Thank you Ron Barker for ckng in with us!  I'm definitely praying that SANDY will turn right & spare all of you the torrential rains, snow wind, etc.  I heard they are expecting 3-4 ft of water in NYC!  I thought about Sally too, she's a NYC girl.  Please keep us posted & let us know when you can.   You too Sally, Ada Ann & all others that will be affected.

SITREP 1130 VA

Its been raining since last night.  Thank you Sandy (the hurricane, not SNL).  Most transportation systems and schools in VA, DC, and MD have been shut down.  OPM made the decision to close the government late yesterday.  We were asked to telework today.  However, many in my agency are working the NRCC and which will maintain operations for some time to come. 

Saturday afternoon I was able to clean six of seven sections of gutters using hands, sticks and a leaf blower.  Power outages are still a possibility.  Last June, I was without power from Friday to Sunday after the big wind storm. 

We'll wait and see what happens.

Enjoying listening to the national morning talk/news shows this morning. General theme seems to be, RUN AWAY, SANDY is COMING!! Haven't left yet?  HUNKER DOWN, SANDY's COMING!! As a jester of good will maybe we should send them our three. They could disburse a category 1 storm pretty easy.

In case you look at the GB - -  Happy B-day Ada Ann.  Hope the 27th was wonderful & you're still celebrating tda!!

Yesterday Don & I got a gussied up & left here at 2:20.  Drove over to my bro & sis n laws hse & the 4 of us drove to Waco.  Our cousin was getting married!  Beautiful wedding & great party afterward!!  Midnight when we got home.  Long day/night but they sure know how to party in Waco.  Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and live band for dancing.  Got to see lots of my cousins. What a blast.
