Place: Richardson Comments: Jack, I'm sure Barb & Donnie will forgive you for NOT showing up at their family Christmas. The only thing appropriate to bring to this b-day party is yourself! I have enough "stuff"! A hug would also be acceptable.
Place: Horns of a dilemma Comments: Wow, two gatherings at the same time. I know how all the Fugates want to see me and expect me to be at their gathering, but this is a FIRST birthday party... I know the all Fugates will be disappointed, but there is only one first. Don and Barb, please explain to your family that we will have other times and this is the sharing season and nobody has made me mad or anything. I'm sure you will find a way to break it to them so they will understand.
Place: 66erville Comments: Just sitting around trying to figure what is appropriate for a 1st birthday party.
Place: SOC '64 Comments: Sounds like a good party you've lined up. Will try to stop by that day.
Place: Garland Comments: Sandy, So sorry that we will not be able to attend your B'day party. We are having our family get together that day. We will be there in spirit and hope you have a great celebration. Hope we can get together to celebrate with you while Don is home during that time.
Place: Cypress Springs Comments: Thanks for the invite SN L...sounds like fun! Gracie is doing well... Still in a lot of pain...it will be a long road but hopefully come out good....children bounce back better then we do. The dog is history....I believe the state is putting it down....it is for the best because if they did not Gracie's dad would have! I am surprised he has not brought charges against the babysitter yet...although the state may have....the laws in Carolina are different from ours!

And yes, bring your spouse, it wouldn't be a party without all the spouses!
Place: FW Comments: Karen, prayers are going out for you niece. I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one who has a problem with Algebra! In my current studies to become a Pharmacy Tech, I've discovered that Algebra figures greatly in compounding, dosage for children, etc. Of all the careers for a math challenged retiree to choose, I had to choose this one! Who knew!
Place: Grosvenor, Texas Comments: Sandy, Thanks for the comment. I think mostly it's a mis-spent youth. Shortcake, Thats got to be a most troubling event. Yuvonne and I have the little gal at the top of our prayer list. We hope she is doing well.
Place: Richardson Comments: Smiley - This one was so good I had to call Don in here to read it!! I may have to read it at least two more times to fully understand it . . . I didn't take Algebra!! Do you wake up with these things running thru your head, or do they come to you during the day??
Place: bigD Comments: Jack I'm sorry I can't reply to your's and Sandy's comment about my late Thanksgiving salutation because I'm laughing so hard at Smiley's post about the Al-gebra movement. Jack I had such a hard time with algedra that I can relate to your problem.
Place: Burkett, Texas Comments: Jack, I, also, owe my high school diploma to Mr. Tillery.
Place: 66erville Comments: THANK YOU Professor Smiley! I greatly resisted algebra back at SOC. I could not grasp what an unknown would be doing in the constant world of math. My inquisitor, Ms Bryant, yelled, threatened, tormented, shamed, tortured me and wrote notes to my parents saying "I wasn't trying". She understood the subject so well she could not understand what I didn't understand. It was as if we were speaking a foreign language. Just I thought all was lost and I would fail a class, my brother by a different Mother, Jerry Tillery conqueror of all things mathematical, rode to my rescue and showed me the way. I passed much to Ms. Bryant and MY surprise! But even back then I KNEW there was something wrong with that way of thinking!!
