Place: Cypress springs Comments: We are safely home and,yes our group there is fun....but I will stick to taking the pics not jumping in. You should make a note SNL that it was a couple of weeks after she hit her head and passed out that they discovered that Hillary had a blood clot! Keep that and your health in mind. Cleaned out the RV yesterday but somehow I pulled a muscle in my lower back. I was trying to climb on the bed to get stuff out of the upper cabinets...cannot put pressure on my knees so was climbing ...very awkward ...paying for it now...next time will get the stool...or someone taller!!! They are calling for snow and sleet here tonight....for joy.
Place: Looking Back At 2012 Comments: We had two great Mini Get-Togethers in 2012!! Saw some new faces and lots of old and dear friends! But to put things in perspective, we also lost six (6) classmates in 2012. They are: Jan 30, Michael Wayne Loyd Mar 3, Lowell Dee Johnson Jr. May 19, Diana Lynn Crockett Phillips (She was Married to classmate Richard Phillips) May 20, Judy Carolyn Holt Neal Aug 3, Kristina Ann Roman Smock Aug 16, Michael Lee Spray Also, two classmates passed away days before our 45th Reunion at the end of Sept, 2011. They were Donna Rexroat Holman on Sep 28 and Vicki Ann Sheets Brundrett on Sep 24. Things to ponder as we take on a New Year and new challenges.
Place: Richardson Comments: We left at 8 a.m. Monday & headed to Driftwood, just SW of Austin. Hardly any cars on the road & if it wasn't for the continuous drizzle & fog all the way down there . . . it wd have been a good drive! the yucky stayed all night and into NY morning. But we had fun with the 4 G-kids for 3-4 hrs while Mom & Dad went out. We brought party hats, poppers, sparklers & decorations. They said it was the best NY Eve ever!! But it was fun & we too enjoyed it. Got home last night about 9. The gash in my head is healing & the goose egg is about halfway gone down. It's a little easier to sleep now that the bump is decreasing. The bruises are still bad, but they too will go away in time. Apparently, I'm much tougher than Hillary!!! Poor thing is in the hospital and oddly enough, too ill to testify! ![]() I haven't called Mike lately, nor have I heard anything from anyone else. Will need to ck. The only thing I know regarding Ada Ann is what I gleam from FB. I'm glad to be home & that the cold drizzling rain has gone. Today I'm taking it easy, still in PJs & furry house shoes! Not even going to think about taking down & putting away Christmas stuff until Fri. Don & I had a great 2012, except for that late night accident on 12-24!! We are looking forward to another year and great things in 2013. Shortcake - Your Kerrville grp sounds like a fun way to spend NYE!! And as for those Polar Bear crazies . . . not in my lifetime!!! I can't even stand cool pool water!!! I have some info I want to publish for you & hope to have it ready tda. Let's all concentrate on making 2013 a great yr!!
Place: Kerrville Comments: Well we made it to midnight...gets harder every year...but had a good time at the party and stayed sober! Too old to get up in the morning with a hangover! Three parties today...a brunch, a black-eyed pea/bloody Mary party and at two some of the crazier people are jumping into one of the ponds in the club.....no I am not one of them...I will stick to taking pics. We will head for home tomorrow..until then Happy New Year everyone.
Place: Sachse Comments: SNL, it's hard to believe that Brooklyn is already 3. She is growing up fast and sooo cute. Happy New Year to everyone. We are snuggling in tonight with Pad Thai from Pei Wei and Mimosas. I think it's a great way to welcome in the New Year.
Place: KC, MO Comments: HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE! STAY SAFE! Love to all - Carol
Place: Garland USA Comments: SNL....any updates on Sue, Ada, SNL?? Wishing everyone a very safe and healthy 2013!
Place: Kerrville Comments: Thanks SNL...hope you are feeling better for the coming New Year. No gymnastics! Hope the weather is better there then it is here..we have rain. Fortunately we are within walking distance of our dinner and party. Now if we can just stay awake until midnight...gets harder every year! We have one group of "polar bears" that are going into one of the ponds tomorrow! I said I would take pics and donate money but forget getting wet! Should be interesting! Everyone stay safe...happy new year.
Place: Richardson Comments: Good morning SOC Buddies! I just posted the last Grandone photo for the year. It is our youngest Grandone, Brooklyn. We get very few, if any, photos of her. You know how it is. On the first child (in our case triplets) they take tons of pics. By the 2nd one you're lucky to get anything! I hope Rod doesn't mind sharing space with me on the P&J pg. Brooklyn is below Rod's handsome boys.Everyone have a safe NYE so we can all live to enjoy another yr!! Happy anniversary to Shortcake & Bobby! May God Bless us all with a healthy & safe 2013.
Place: Sachse Comments: Rod, those are adorable photos of your grandsons. They have really grown. I especially like the 2nd photo. Too cute.
Place: Kerrville Comments: Actually my last post was a joke...bobby was driving...we spent the night in San Antonio and are now pulling into Kerrville. Got o gt set up. Everyone get well before I get home! That's an order!
Place: Garland USA Comments: Have spent the last 6.5 hours signing in, seeing a doctor and getting prescriptions for both of us filled at a Wylie 24 hr. pharmacy. We almost had time to get well! Now I am still waiting at 12:45 am for Bruce to return with the meds. I decided to catch up on the GB when I read Shortcake's post. Ah-ha!! Alert.....either she started her celebration early or she is texting while driving an RV!!! Stay safe Shortcake!
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: SNL, I just got thru catching up on the guest book comments and was stunned to read about your recent battle with "Gravity", in which you came out on the losing end. Dru has had a couple of similar incidents and it is scary to bang your head in that fashion. Now we have a household "rule" that nobody gets on a ladder unless the other spouse is nearby. That doesn't necessarily prevent a fall, but at least first aid is close at hand. I've been busy planning my new resolutions for the coming year. I'd put it off while we were still under the threat of the Mayan Apocalypse. Number 1 on my list is "Join a gym". Of course I don't actually plan on going to the gym - mainly it gives me something to write in my diary that will look good to those who read it after I'm gone. Later, chumps.
Place: I35 somewhere Comments: Thanks for the anniversary wishes....bobby s asleep and I am driving very well as you van see...thank goodness for selcheck. We shudder get their alive...I think ......,more larur. By
