Place: Texas Comments: Thank you Karen MD for the compliment. We did have a good lunch and the snow was the "icing on the cake." Word of Warning for anyone going through Lakeway, TX (near Austin) - my 18 year old granddaughter got her drivers' license yesterday.
Place: Cypress springs Comments: I offered to loan him my acceptance speech from when I got my fire citizen of the year but I think he thought the 30 pages were way too long!
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes, I heard that James Hawkins (Jack's nephew) was named Garland Firefighter of the Year! He is such a hard worker & a really nice guy. Congrats Jack on the Hawkin's Clan having such an outstanding citizen in the family! Goes to show, not all young people are wackos!
Place: KC, MO Comments: Hi to all. Hope that everyone is doing as well as possible. Leaving work for the grocery store now, then heading home to clean the cat's litter pan. (Somehow it seems appropriate to be cleaning out poop during tonight's speech, as there will be lots of similar stuff being shoveled by the speaker.)  Love to all - Carol

The good looking Hawkins is our Firefighter of the year! Jack....do not try to say you are are a firefighter...it is his so sweet nephew...good looking also. Sandy knows Sheila, his wife, she does her hair and does a really great job! See ya later!
Place: West of Grosvenor Comments: I'm not making this up. If the voting cardinals that elect the next pope stay with someone from Europe, the front runner is cardinal Angelo Scola from Milan. Pope Scola. Sammy and I could not have thought that one up.
Place: Calif. Comments: It's Feb 10th...opening season for "The Walking Dead".
Place: Richardson Comments: It is in the SE corner of Park & Coit, caddy-corner across from Elliott's Hardware. It's a Cinemark theater & listed in the paper at the bottom of the Cinemark pg as "Plano - 10 Movies" under discount movies. Had a big price increase this yr, it was .75 cents last yr! All "first showings" of a movie are $1. All day Monday is Senior Day ($1) and all day Tue all shows are $1. The night time shows are $1.75 and up to $2.25. It's always a good deal!!! Plus, when you go during the week there aren't very many people there and no kids!

Place: Cypress Springs Comments: Gosh thanks for all of the remedies ....I will definitely try SNL's but think that i will skip the hot grease  I can suffer with the headache more then the burns. Got a new CR-V this week - decided to upgrade a notch and get the leather this time so now I have the back-up camera and the seat warmers etc etc. Had to stay with the CR-V because there are still not a lot of cars you can tow with all wheels down on the back of the RV and Honda does give a good trade-in. Rides a lot smoother then the other one for some reason-guess because it is new!!!!!
Place: Sachse Comments: I see I am falling behind on the GB. My deepest sympathy to you Mike in the loss of your mother. Please take good care of yourself. Linda, that's a great family photo of all the kiddos. Dinner looks pretty good too. But everything looks good to me since Mike and I have been working on our New Year Resolution to lose a few pounds. So far so good. Sam, could you try and use a little "fresher" material? I read in a history book where Columbus kicked an indian's behind for telling that last joke you told.

I know how much you like those nude dudes and that salty sailor talk. Shortcake, I heard that ice cream story too. But since you have to eat it QUICK, I wouldn't buy Blue Bell. You got to eat Blue Bell s l o w l y and enjoy every bite!! Wish I had some now.
Place: Coppell Comments: Shortcake, you may want to try my grandfather's remedy for all pains. Pour a pan of hot grease down the back of your britches. I guarantee you won't feel the migraine.
Place: Richardson Comments: Shortcake, have I got news for you!!! I read in paper tda about a way to relieve your migrains. Tell Bobby to keep a half gal of Bluebell in the freezer. Next time you feel a migrain starting . . . get a bowl & start eating, fast! Induce a quick "brain freeze". The brain freeze dialates your vessels & it relives the migrain. How cool is that?! We went to see Skyfall at our Dollar movie house tda. Good show, same basic plot as all Bond movies, but always good. Oddly enough, I saw less nudity & heard less bad language in Skyfall than I did last night watching an episode of Dallas!
Place: Calif Comments: Smiley, my dad had other advice and guidance for me. During his final months I visited him at the "home" in Bonham, TX. After about an hour of talking with him I asked "do you know who I am?. He said "no, but if you go to the nurses station they can tell you". |
