Place: Cloudy & damp Richardson Comments: Goodness No Jack! A yr ago I responded to a request from our HOA Board for volunteers to serve on the Board. Next thing you know I'm named V.P. The City of Richardson has a City Council meeting @ 7:00a.m. once a mo for all the HOA Board members in Richardson. Our Pres & myself are the only two who are retired, so I've been gng with him the past 8-10 mo. You get updates on what is happening in our city, meet the Mayor & other council members & get a lot of good info. They serve coffee, juice & continental brkfst. I like gng, except for one thing . . . it's at 7:00AM!!

Place: Richardson Comments: How wonderful David, a "first" Grandone!! Let us know the details when you get back, & of course, send a photo!! Man, what a gorgeous day! Got an early start tda as I went to a 7:00am City Council meeting this mrng. It was so still & crisp outside, I love it. Now off to the bank & to do errands and enjoy the day. Hope all of you in the DFW area can get out a few minutes to soak up the sunshine. Early in the mrng we are expecting rain for a few days, so take advantage tda.
Place: Southlake Tx Comments: Shirley and I going down to Austin tomorrow for the birth of our first grandbaby Kinley Fay.
Place: Richardson Comments:  It wd seem so Rod! Although the schs are closed tda, haven't seen a single kid outside playing or hardly a car going down the street. Although, I know from the ads in the paper . . . there are some great President's Day Sales going on. It is so windy outside & high pollen count, I've stayed in by choice. It's very warm here, but too windy to enjoy being outdoors. Maybe tmo some of the gang will drop in for a chat. Time to go fix supper . . . later guys.

Rod, your 2 Grandones are getting so big & handsme too! Yesterday was Spring-like, tda is Winter! Strange winter here in N. TX, we've had more warm & beautiful days than cold . . . but did have that unusual snow on Christmas afternoon. I think tda is a good day for a movie . . . I chose Lincoln and Don agreed. Later my friends . . .

Place: South of Burkett Comments: Occasionally I come across a helpful hint in my readings and feel compelled to share it with our SOC family. Now I have not checked this out with Snopes.com to see if it actually works, but an article in Psychology Today says "If you are ever overcome with a sudden urge to run around naked you should drink a half capfull of Windex." Scientist cannot explain how it works but say laboratory test show it really does keep you from streaking. Just trying to be helpful.
Place: Richardson Comments: Trust me KMD, he thought about it!!! It's been a great day. Blueberry cake made in a heart-shaped pan, went to Lowe's, dipped our strawberries in choc, and now have a pork roast with onions, carrots & potatoes in the oven. Yum Yum! Glad others are enjoying Venezia's, hope it will be around a long time. And yes, I like bringing your own wine... much cheaper! Happy Valentine's Day to all you love birds!!!! It's not what you do or where you go, it's being together and just enjoying each others company! Hope everyone got out to enjoy this gorgeous day!!
Place: Sachse Comments: Didn't realize it was Sandy and Don's anniversary today. Don, you were smart getting the two for the price of one day. I can't believe Mike didn't think of that when we married. Enjoy your day (and night). Yes we did try Venezia's a while back. Excellent, authentic food. Unfortunately it's not on the diet right now. I think we are going to Gloria's as they have a delicious grilled chicken and shrimp salad that is wonderful and not too hard on the diet. Loved my pink calla lillies and adorable card Mike left me this morning.  Happy Valentine's Day to all.
Place: Cypress springs Comments: You will really really enjoy the food and the people there SNL. We have eaten there with mike and Tammy. Infact, we met them there after your BD party. At least you do not have to worry about buying wine! We are going to a steakhouse in Winnsboro. Ya'll have fun.
Place: Valentine's Anniversary Comments: Thanks Barb! Yes, it's 28 yrs tda! This mrng I made blueberry cupcakes, except I put the batter in a heart-shaped pan. So we have blueberry cake. Just finished washing strawberries and later we're going to melt chocolate & dip them. I've always wanted to do that & Don said he wanted to help. This ought to be fun, him & I dipping strawberries in hot melted chocolate. Later tda we're going up to Lowe's to pick up 3 new light fixtures we ordered and install them. Last night we went to this little Italian restaurant very close to our house. It was great! Our food was so good!! Jack & KMD. . . it's the little place at the corner of Murphy & Renner called Venezia's. Lots of Italian dishes to choose from & also pizza. It's BYOB & nice. Life is good . . .  I may be mistaken, but I believe it is also James Young's BD. Am I right James? Seems to be your BD & our Annv were on same day. Happy B-day James!! Hope you it enjoy this beautiful day!!

Place: Sachse Comments: On behalf of James, Thank you for the kinds words. I've only busted the buttons off two shirts and a vest. I don't think his Dad has any shirts left. James is a great guy who gives his all in what ever he does. He had always wanted to be a fireman. I think Garland made an excellent choice in hiring him and choosing him as firefighter of the year!! |
