JS -  At least you have a theme going.  The new Ukulele you bought for Dru should go nicely with your outfit & the Hawaii theme!!!

Jack, I'm still out here. This year I let the Running of the Bulls smooth slip by me. Dang.

I've been focused on trying to get in shape for our 50th class reunion coming up in October. I hear it has a "tropical" theme, so I've been trying to GAIN twenty-five pounds. Then I can go as "Johnahu" ... Hawaii's 7th major island!

My Jimmy Buffett diet of "Cheese burgers & Margaritas" is working nicely.

First things first - Shortcake, the tequila was for us!  But I hadn't thought about giving it to them . . .  Hmmmm?  We went to Nickle Rama on Monday & they always love that place, plus it's barely 4 miles from our house.  It's at the intersection of Belt Line & Brand!  That's where Bruce was hit!

We spent all day (10:15 to 6:00pm) at Summer Adventure.  If you haven't taken your G-kids yet - -  Please do so!!  We have so much fun!!  It was perfect yesterday until the last 5 min & it came a shower.  But we were ready to go anyway.  NOTE: They dropped the parking from $15 to $5 and we got a Family of 4 Pkg Deal for $80.  That's $20 less than it was the first time & the parking is $10 less.  We rode so many rides & the boys rode several over & over!!  Plus you can go to the Aquarium (pet the stingrays) the Butterfly Gardens and see a Dog show & a Cat show.  It was all good & all included in the entry fee.  Only food & drink are extra.  Best fun you'll have for $20 per person anywhere!!!!!

Roe seems to be having trouble spelling his name.  On one post he only got 1 out of 3 correct!     That's Ok Roe, I knew it was you!

Gotta go.  We're hoping the Putt Putt dries up enough so we can play tda. If not . . .  I guess we'll head up to our pool.  That's always Plan B.  We're taking them home tmo after 9 days.  Been fun, but all good things must come to an end (thank goodness, our knees are wearing out!).

SNL - I know that it has been raining outside a lot but should you really be giving the boys tequila instead of taking them to the park or whatever  ... I mean I can understand not going to the park but buying them a new bottle of tequila is going to extremes...that is just going to make them a little hyper....but hey - good luck.

We too have sold off our heard, only running what the land will hold . I still have 3 pools that have not recovered from 2-yrs ago drought. Coleman usually brings top dollar. We take the Calfs to Idabell, OK, or Paris,Tx. It's been a funny yr, all the Cows through bulls this yr.

Roe and Jack, we have watched steak prices jump up out our way also. It's a mixed blessing for us in a way. Due to the drought we have been selling off our herd since the Spring. We sold 10 last Wednesday with cow/calf pairs bringing a low of $1585 to a high of $2225. We have never seen cattle bring these prices. I bought some of these young cows for $550. The Coleman auction usually runs around 1,000 to 1,500 head through the ring every Wednesday. Last week they sold 4,589 head and were still selling calves at 2:00 AM.
Richard, Snopes says Mrs. Palmer was never on Carson and it was an old joke that went back to Steve Allen so there was no law suit." Flutter your putter" evidently was a Carson original, however.
And as to Southworth, he usually just spreads the "Bull" and would probably not be running with them. (although, you never know)  I think he is having lots of fun with his Grandson. And the man can find stuff with his metal detector!

Roe there are still several good steak houses around that are not so costly, But then, when you're from out of town... Should have asked some locals!
No, Sam, I don't remember that one. Can you tell us on the guestbook??
Richard, I don't know what she could have sued for. But it seems anybody can sue anybody for anything anymore.
Haven't seen or heard anything from John Southworth in a LONG time. You think he is over in Spain, running with (from) the bulls???

This rain is so wonderful!!!  Doesn't happen often in mid July we get rain forecast for 4 days straight & temps in the 70s & 80s!!  Boys are here & the rain tda messed up our plans for Summer Adventure at Fair Park and Plan B was miniature Gold, but it was closed tda bec lady said the course was too soggy.  Instead we went to Total Wine & bought a new bottle of Tequila (for insurance) then to Nickle Rama.  The boys had a great time.  Now we're praying for a break in the rain tmo . . .  or else we will be needing the Tequila!

Roe, try a less expensive neighborhood.  Park & Preston is a little pricey.  Try El Fenix next time.  For $25 you can have a yummy dinner & drink and that's for two!  With the terrible drought and no hay, the price of beef has skyrocketed.

Any of you remember Doc Severensen's comment to Johnny when he asked Doc what he was doing on July 4th? Talk about a classic comment!

Jack, I remember that Carson episode.  I seem to recall it got Johnny sued by Mrs. Arnie....at least that was the story.
