Place: 66erville Comments: Happy Birthday, Dan! Hope you have many more. During my walk this morning I came across a house that had been papered. They did a pretty good job except there were several rolls that still had lots of paper on them. A new twist I noticed was there were hundreds of plastic forks stuck in the ground. Does this have a special meaning or just more stuff for the "honored kid" to clean up?? Things change but some traditions live on!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Well Happy B-day to my sweet dear friend Danny Bob! Hope the 15th was a real good one for you!! You know David, he hates it when we call him Danny Bob!!! But old habits are hard to break, started back in early Lisbon. It was funny bec at the 45th reunion the whole time we were setting up & y'all were practicing he kept calling me Sandra. I didn't mind at all, just shows many of us have roots going waaay back! And No . . . you didn't sound gay, sounded like a heart felt wish for a very good friend!!
Place: Sachse Comments: Great photos of Rod's grandkids. Love the action shots and the water really did look inviting. Linda, great news about your daughter and 2 new grandones for you and Rudy. Congratulations. Hope you enjoy your new home in McKinney. I've been trying to get over to LocalYocal, the grass-fed meat market that's over there. Mike's daughters really like it.
Place: Southlake Comments: Happy birthday Danny Bob, yesterday 8/15, I miss the right day every year. Hope you had a Good Time, Baby. Did that sound gay? I do love you. Not gay.
Place: Richardson Comments: Linda - so nice to hear from you again. Thought you might have gotten swallowed up by a Frisco sink hole! Geezz, emergency surgery for Rudy & trying to move at the same time!! Bummer!!! Glad you are 98% moved. The last time we moved I thought someone was sneaking into our old place ad putting stuff back in there!! It's amazing how much stuff we accumulate over the yrs. Hope things are good in Frisco & you are enjoying being close to one of your dtrs. Congratulations on the twins!! Wow, big babies. So glad mom & babies are doing well. Have fun next week, with two, you each can have your own baby to take care of!! You're a good Grandma!!
Place: McKinney, TX Comments: Have been away from GB for awhile so I've spent time reading the news. For everyone who has lost a loved one, I am so sorry for your loss. I talked to Sandra Crowe today and she told me that Joe LeGrand passed away and Barbara Arnold. I was friends with him on FB, and missed hearing about his passing. I remember Joe from elementary school. I also saw that Jack had a birthday; happy belated birthday. Ain't 65 great!!!! This summer has been busy for us. We moved June 23 from Duncanville to McKinney. Let me rephrase that statement - we moved the big stuff from Duncanville to McKinney. We have been continuing to move every week since then. I think we have the old house finally 98% cleaned out. Will be getting ready to put up for sale. Oh, before that, Rudy had emergency gall bladder surgery (is there any other kind), and our big air conditioning unit went out the week before the big move. After his unplanned surgery we had to adjust our move date. The good news: July 26 my daughter, Meredith (lives in Lakeway, TX) gave birth to twins, a boy(weighing 5 lb. 12 oz) and a girl weighing 6 lb. 7 oz). Needless to say, the babies left the hospital in 3 days when the mother did. I've been there 2 times, once for the birth and once to stay with her. I'll be going again this Sunday to stay until Friday. The mother is doing well but trying to adjust to having 2 babies the same age, well, they are a minute apart. Of course, the girl, Teagan is 1 minute older than Aston (boy). Loving the cooler weather today.
Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: Hey, Jack, This species travels thousands of miles each year from the nesting site to the feeding area. It is expected that they experience some wear and tear along the way. We have not disturbed the nest.
Place: 66eerville Comments: Dale, it appears there is some damage to that Falcon. I hope you are not responsible for the damage. I think they are federally protected.
Place: Richardson Comments: Darn it Dale!! I clicked on it any way, knowing it probably wasn't what you said it was. I'll be darn . . . it was a falcon!!!
Place: Allen, Texas Comments: Hey, Rod!!! I like the grandkids' pictures. That water they are wading in sure looks cool to a person living in a Texas oven!!!!
Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: Was able to take a pic of a very rare falcon nesting on our ranch. Hope you enjoy :
Place: Richardson Comments: I added new Grandone pics on the Pride & Joy pg. Be sure to click on the pics to enlarge them so you can see the grin on Brycen's face. $15 for the fishing pole, fun had by Grandkids . . . priceless!
Place: Richardson Comments: Jack - Don & I went to the new Kroger Super Store on the day it opened. BIG Mistake! We thought they were giving away food the way it was packed. Worse than any day ever at WalMart. It was very nice though and they had every line opened and even checkers on the Self-Ck out too. We only had 4-5 items and we were ck'd out in record speed. Keep in mind . . . the Kroger on Hwy 78 is 2 mi frm my driveway. The new Kroger is 4 mi. Old WM is 3.9 mi and new WM is 2 mi. I do love the new WM. Nice, big isles and very friendly & helpful employees. They have a great bakery & well stocked shelves. We got an 8-10 min light shower abt 7:40pm & that was abt it. It may have showered overnight as it seemed a little wet this mrng. Gosh, now I feel like I'm on FB giving every little detail of my life!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Don't worry, I'm not gng to tell you when I brushed my teeth or how I fixed my hair today. Although, it is kinda cute. I have it up in a twist with a pom pom of hair on top held by a white clamp.
Place: Sachse Comments: When are you planning your trip to the new Kroger Marketplace store on 544 at Country Club drive, SNL?? I understand you can buy everything from furniture and jewelry to kumquats. I think it is Kroger's version of Target and Walmart superstore.
Place: Still waiting for the rain Comments: Jack - same thing here. Several very loud thunder booms & some wind, but nothing yet. This afternoon I went up to our new WalMart at Murphy & 544. While in there it came a pour down. When I came out water was running everywhere. Keep in mind, I live exactly 2 miles from the WalMart. I drove home and when I turned onto McKinley . . . it was bone dry!! Not a drop in our neighborhood and especially dry on Ashbury!!! David, so nice to hear from you. Congrats on your son's wedding. Hate to hear Shirley broke her foot. But glad she is better & you're both back safe. Yes, we have lost 4 classmates since January!! Sue Ash McDow, Michael Lovinggood, Joe LeGrand and Barbara Jean Williams Arnold. Time is precious, let's all try harder to make our next get-together. Never know when it will be the last time you have the opportunity to see a dear friend. |
