What a sad week for SOC friends and family. God bless Joe who I will always remember having a wide, shy smile and a kind spirit. Comfort and prayers to his family.

Don and Barbara, so sorry to hear about your sister's passing.  Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Aww Karen, we are very sorry for the loss of Boomer.  We certainly know what it's like to lose a pet.  They are so much a big part of "family".

It's been a week since I was able to check the GB and now I find out such terrible news. Eddie, my dear, sweet friend, I am so sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. My heart breaks for you at this difficult time. I just learned of it this afternoon so I hope you will accept my apology for missing her services. Know that you and your family have my prayers for strength and comfort. Please stay in touch with the class as you try to heal. We are your friends and we care about you very much.

Donnie and Barb, you have suffered a great loss too and my heart goes out to you both and your family as you deal with the pain of loss of a loved one. How wonderful that Don shared time with her before she passed. My thoughts and prayers are with you too.

Some other sad news occurred this week when one of our two dachshunds, Boomer age 12, passed away suddenly last Saturday night after a short illness. It's always tough to lose a pet.

I am going to a family reunion tomorrow and I am going to hug everyone just a little bit tighter. You never know when it will be your last chance to give them a hug.

Just wanted to let our Guestbook friends and family know that Don's oldest sister, Peggy, passed away yesterday.  She had been diagnosed with Leukemia a couple of months ago.  Her health was not good anyway since she had COPD and this just made it a lot worse for her.  He had been with her in Dallas a couple of weeks ago.  We knew then that she was not going to make it.  I am glad he got to be with her while she still knew he was there.  She did not want any type of service. She wanted her body donated to Southwestern Medical School.  Just kept Don, Debbie (his younger sister) and our family in your prayers.

Yep - sitting outside at happy hour this afternoon and I got an alert on my phone, but I had to wait to check it ......I had to run back inside the RV to get my jacket - it was really starting to get kind of cool sitting outside   when I got back checked my phone and there was a heat advisory for Franklin County....good thing I was in Colorado I guess.  Course we are having to turn the heater on in the morning and that is using a lot of electricity!

Sarah and I have determined that Our grandkid's parents are no fun. We took the Hale Grandkids to the dollar movie and saw The Croods. Had to get the survival food packs for them. Had Blue Bell Vanilla and Chocolate when we got home. Supper in an hour. Had explicit instructions from Mom, but lost the "cannot do" list. Ha! It's too hot for them "not to play in the pool". Our house... Our rules.

Thanks for the info about Gordy. I'll get in touch with him.
Do any of you remember Don and BIlly Ivey? They went to LIsbon Elementary school 1956- 1959. BIlly went to Zumwalt as well as SOC. Don moved to pleasant grove and graduated from H. Grady Spruce in '68.
I saw Don this evening at the Spruce class of 1968 high school reunion committee meeting that Sarah is involved with putting their 45th together this fall.
Told Don I would mention him and Billy to you guys.

Sorry, I forgot to tell Sam; Contact Gordy and see when he is at his BBQ stand at Hebron Parkway (Park Blvd west) and Charles St. I'd bet he has some salsa or will bring some if he knows you're coming. You can get the salsa and some GREAT BBQ at the same time. I don't know if he has got his Snow Cone stand part going by now or not. If he had a liquor license I don't know if I'd ever be able to leave there!!

Check your calendar, Sam. When you have an opening I'd like to bring my Grandkids over. I can stay and play or just leave them with you. Whatever works for y'all.
