Sandy, thank the good Lord the polyps are non- cancerous. These radiologists are just like doctors, herding cattle through.
Since no radiologist called me from the hospital to explain my Retrograde Urethragram, I googled it and found that radioactive dye will be shot inside me in order to get a good picture of the scar tissue built up. Let's see now, 42 external beam radiation treatments caused the scar tissue and now shoot me with radiation dye. Called my urologist and rescheduled the "X-ray" until after the holidays. bless his heart, he has now had to rearrange his busy schedule because of me.
Go figure. Lets all go to the beach!

Sandy, I'm really glad the polyps were non-cancerous.  Situations like this make me so mad and scare me to pieces.  We put our bodies/lives in doctors' hands.  And then some tech "doesn't read it correctly"!!  They better keep that malpractice insurance paid up!

OMG Sandy, cannot believe they did not see the polyps on the CT Scan.  That is definitely not an easy surgery!!!  Why did he not tell Don this after the surgery was over???  I am definitely glad that they were not cancerous.  Praying for a quick recovery for you.  You definitely have a lot to be thankful for.  Hopefully the pain is getting better.  I know Don is doing a great job taking care of you.  Hope to talk with  you this next week when you are feeling better.

Speaking of doctors, I got a health scare earlier in the week.  Doctor said I have furniture disease; my chest is falling into my drawers.

SNL, glad you are getting some good news and took care of current and potential problems. Hope the healing process proceeds quickly for you. Best wishes!

My good news/bad news Dr. story:  man wakes up in the hospital with the surgeon sitting by his side with good news/ bad news. The man decides to get the bad news first. "Well', says the doc, "you were in a horrible accident and I had to remove both of your legs to save your life."  the man looks under the sheet and sees his legs are actually gone.  He is visably shaken but asks "What is the good news?" The Dr. says " See that guy across the ward?" The guy gets a little encouraged and says "Yes, Yes, what about him?"

The Doctor says "He wants to buy your shoes!"

Y'all are always interesting.  I can only imagine what went thru Richard's unique brain.  Glad some of you helped ease his mind as to what FU stood for.  It's old SWBell shorthand.  We were forced to use certain abbreviations for words & I still use many of them tda.  Anyway, brought a smile to my face & that's not easy with a fat lip.

Told Don I had a few questions I wanted Dr to answer.  I needed to know what caused the excessive bleeding & all this blood pooling in my lower face. When I asked Dr he sat dwn on his stool & slid over to his w/his laptop.   1st words out of his mouth, " I have some good news & some bad news." For goodness sake, give me the good news 1st!!  Here's what the Doc said . . .

I haven't actually gotten the pathological rpt yet, but I did t/w the Pathologist myself this mrng & he said the 2 polyps removed were not cancerous. However these were xxxxxxx polyps & they can turn cancerous, so the good news is these weren't.

Want to take a wild guess as to which words I picked up on in the Doc's statement & why I don't remember the type & name of the polyps?!!  That's why I used Xs.  He then sd the bad news is that my Ins (UHC) didn't approve pmt!!!  I said WAIT, Let's go bk to the polyps!!  WHAT!!??  Doc sd that whomever read CT scan failed to see the polyps & only reported blocked sinus cavities.  Not only did he clean & wash out infection in all 8 sinus cavities, he also removed 2 large polyps, one on ea side. That's why I had so much bleeding.  He then removed the splints from inside my nose & told me I shd be feeling much better in another wk, but it will probably take another 2-3 after that for all the swelling to go away.  He gently patted me on the arm & sd not to worry abt the Ins Co, as he will handle them.  When Don & I left & all the way home we were still wondering how tda was the first time either of us had ever heard the word "polyps". He asked, "How could we have missed it?"  I politely told him that I was in so much pain & full of drugs on Tue & Wed, how cd I have remembered anything?  What was his excuse!  Doc will send me the rpt as soon as he gets it.

My lesson from this is I will never ever take a Dr.s assurance of a surgery being a "simple procedure" as a given!  If the person reading the CT scan had read the info correctly, the Dr wd hve known B4 the surgery of the add'l problems, but Doc found out during surgery.  But you know what, I'm so Thankful for those words, "non-cancerous" that nothing else matters.  I'm gng to get better ea day & I'm sure my family & I are gng to have some great laughs abt this on TNKGVN.  Especially when they see how bad my face will still look!!!

Before you keep imagining all kinds of things it means follow up. SNL cannot do things normal ....she has to turn colors...cut her head open....you know....Halloween would be a better time to do this! At least you would fit in ...And maybe not scare the kids!

You girls are so funny!!  Unfortunately Shortcake hit the nail on the head.  With me, things are always more complicated than they are supposed to be!  The excessive bleeding caused a lot of the add'l problems, like swelling & blood pooling in my lower face. Dr. told us the next day when we went to see him that all 8 of my sinus cavities were clogged & infected, so he did a rotor-rooter on all 8.  It looks like I have on Goth Black lipstick, but only on my top lip!!  Don't know why, but thank goodness only the top lip swelled & turned black.  It kinda enhances the dark purple & black streaks down the sides of my mouth.

Yesterday, for the 1st time, I was able to put on my glasses & read some of the paper.  Happy Day!!  Our 1 wk FU apt is this afternoon.  Hope to get good news that all this is still on-track and no add'l problems.

Oh, I have to tell you as this is funny. My bro called last night & Don told him what had happened. We hadn't sd anything as we thought it wd be a 5 day down time & I'd be bk to dng my usual.  After they talked awhile he brt pho to me & I t/w my bro for few min.  He said they wanted us to come over there for TNXGVN this yr.  OK, 10 days, I shd be able to do it.  I then sd, "But, if you will remember we came to your house last Christmas & I showed up with bloody hair from the fall I took late Christmas Eve! Now it looks like I may show up TNXGVN looking more like the Bride of Frankenstein.  Why don't y'all invite us over for NY's Day & I'll see what I can do to make it memorable!"

Thank you for the support and any prayers you could send for healing wd be appreciated.  Ok, I'm tired, bk to bed.
