Place: 66erville Comments: Had a nice visit with Charles yesterday. He was up brushing his teeth under the watch full eye of his physical therapist when I got there. He looked and sounded good. He is up and moving around pretty well, just, as he says, a little short of breath. He is bruised, including one on his upper arm from the blood pressure cup that stays on his arm. Docs came in gave him some strength tests and talked about rehab facilities and are getting him a list of what is available, where. PA from the heart team came in and checked on him. He was retaining fluids and was ready for everything to start functioning as usual. As everyone knows who has been there, that is the next step in recovering. He told me they had glued his incision together! No staples. He asked about everybody. (including Courtney, SMc). He seemed to be in good spirits and ready to get rehabbing and put all this behind him. You just can't keep a good man down!!
Place: DS Comments: Larry, it's Steve Avila, that was known as Speedy. Johnny Delagarza was a year younger, really fast on the field. He may have had a nick name, but I don't remember. They both went to Holmes. Thanks for the update on Charles.
Place: Mansfield Comments: I just spoke with Charles Moss. He is again in a regular room, and the doctor is talking about him going to a rehabilitation facility soon. He said to let all of you know that he wishes you a Merry Christmas.
Place: Richardson Comments: Hey Larry, nice to see you posting here! JD is right, the Speedy in our pics from the last get-together is Mike (Speedy) Harrison. He went o Lisbon, Zumwalt & SOC with us, at least until his parents moved out of the SOC boundary just before our Sr yr. Gang, I'm sorry I've been so absent on the GB and haven't decorated the website with Christmas images. It seems I can't string two good days together! I do a few things and think things are going well and the next day I can barely get out of bed. I guess I just don't bounce back as quickly as I used to! I'm trying my best to get back to normal because we really want to see the 4 G-kids for a few days right after Christmas. I do think about all of you & I want to wish everyone a safe & joyful Christmas!! May God Bless all of us with good health and good friends for the new year!!
Place: 66 Wisconsin Comments: Merry Christmas to all and to all...I am really sorry you did not win last week...I was very serious about you guys taking us down. Sorry it didn't happen. Hi Larry...I do not believe the two guys you are talking about are different people (Speedy). The kid from Holmes Was Mexican and I believe his last name was Dela Garza and went on to play football at Bishop Dunn. Am I right...McGee, Dagley help me.
Place: Moore, OK Comments: I misspelled my own name! Larry Murphy
Place: Moore, OK Comments: Hello JD. Long time no see. Hey is the Speedy in the 2013 pic's the same Speedy that went o O.W. Holmes?
Place: DS Comments: Rick, your grandkids are growing up fast. Cute kids. SNL, yours too. I can't believe the twins are so big. They'll be teenagers before you know it. Great pictures.
Place: DS Comments: When Dagley post, you know _ _ _ must have froze over. Prayers continue for Charles. I think he would like visitors from the conversation we had before his surgery. Courtney came home late Saturday. Surgery took longer than was anticipated. She's very sore. Planning on back to work mid Jan. Thanks for the prayers. Sammy, sweetest prayer and I know you were sincere You were smart to postpone your surgery.
Place: Garland USA Comments: Continued prayers go out to Charles, Ada Ann, Courtney and others for healing. Beautifully said Sam! Ric, cute picture of grandones! I give up SNL. I have sent the pic a total of four times.
Place: Mansfield Comments: Last night I was with Charles for a few hours, just talking with him, as he dozed in and out of sleep. While there, they took him back to ICU, and as of this morning, Miriam said he will stay there for a while. She said the doctors knew it would be difficult for him, and that they just have to watch him closely. Charles appreciates all the prayers, and it sounds as though he would also appreciate any visitors.
Place: The sun came out Comments: Had a pleasant conversation with the Cheesehead Garoutte last night after the Jerry Jones Circus performed. He wishes us all Happy Holidays. He is fortunate to live in a State that has a professional football team. Merry Christmas to the Golden Bear Family.
Place: Richardson Comments: In the spirit of Christmas we tried to grant your wish JD, but we just couldn't do it! Congrats on a well deserved win!!!
Place: Richardson Comments: We left Thursday mrng & drove to Hstn to visit Don's mom for few days. Got back yesterday evening. Cold in Hstn, in the mid 30's & a strong N. wind! Sammy - What a beautiful prayer. Amen & I 2nd that emotion! Talked to Charles few minutes ago. He came out of ICU, but back in there again as his heart beat keeps fluctuating, the Afib problem! They are still trying to get his heart beat to stabilize. He hopes they will let him go home by Christmas. McMakin - How is Courtney after surgery Thursday???? JD - I know what you mean & can relate!! I'm tired of getting my hopes up only to have a game like last Monday!! At least GB is playing without Aaron . . . don't know what our excuse is ???
Place: 66 Wisconsin Comments: Today is our family Christmas Party, 56 people...glad we do this at a restaurant. Prayers & lit candles have been repetitive for some time and will continue...God Bless all of you. But that's not why I'm here...I want your COWBOYS to put us out of our misery so the Green & Gold can settle in for a long winter of "waiting till next year". T.R. grew up 14 miles northwest of Kenosha...good kid when he was here. Please win! Damn that was difficult to say. |
