Place: Richardson Comments: I'm happy to say all the photos from our mini on 4-26-14 have been loaded and labeled! As anyone who attended knows, the Mini was also a celebration for Donnie Fugate. We were celebrating that after more than 10 yrs of living out-of-state away from home, Donnie Fugate was back home for good and retired! Sandy McGee organized a Roast and gag gifts and cards for Donnie. It was a fun afternoon and filled with lots of laughs, as you will see in the photos! Good job Pool Guy and I loved the hat you gave Donnie. Very cool. He better watch out, Barb may swipe it!Go to our Home pg and click on "GET-TOGETHERS 2014" to see the photos and album.
Place: SOC '64 Comments: You are cordially invited to the 50th Reunion of the Class of 1964: http://soc64.com/ReunionInfo.htm
Place: Richardson Comments: Yippee, I got some great pics Saturday and so did Shortcake & Mac!! Thanks for the photos you two! I've got them in files and with a little luck, hope to start putting them into the new 2014 album. I had to add another pg to the site, can't believe the site has been up for 10yrs. Actually, we had our 10 yr anniversary on March 14th!! Happy anniversary to us the SOC '66 site & GB!! Anyway, good pics & happy faces. A good time was had by all. McGee - you did a good job on the Roast and we all got to enjoy the funny gifts and cards.
Place: Cypress springs Comments: We had a really great time Saturday....it was just a weekend with way to much going on and seemed to get worse on Sunday. Thought we had successfully made it past the storms but it moved in about 7. We went to bed about 10. Midnight we get a code red call...high winds, hail, lightening and tornado warning....went on until about 3 .
Just got to sleep and 4:30 the alarm company called....my sisters alarm had something wrong and kept sending signals so they called me. Just a great night!
Maybe it will be better tonight.
Place: Breakfast room Comments: Ditto, Sandy, except for the pictures I was sending you an email while you were posting.I really like the Hyatt and the layout. Thanks for all you planning Great time.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Connie and I had a GREAT time at the mini, Saturday. Was great seeing Lucky. And, I was totally thrilled to see Richard Phillips. I have known Richard since we were pre-schoolers. But, I had not seen him since summer 1967, when I ran into him at a convenience store in Lancaster, TX. I certainly hope he will come back again. I have so many fond memories of Richard from long ago, and am so happy he is doing well and showed up for the mini.
Place: Richardson Comments: I had a great time at the mini Sat!!! As always, new classmates show up and we get to reconnect with those we haven't seen in yrs! This time Lucky Brunner & his wife and Richard Phillips came to the party for the 1st time. Vernon Moreland, who we haven't seen in 4-5 yrs, also attended. Sandy McGee added to the fun by having a Roast ?? or Tribute??, depending on your perspective, of Donnie Fugate! It was a Welcome Home & Congrats on Your Retirement Roast! Lots of very funny gag gifts & cards. I looked at my pics this morning & Shortcake's & Mac's last night. We got some great photos!! We even got a grp pic of the SOC people. If you missed it - - You missed a very fun and enjoyable afternoon. Will work on pics so can post in day or so.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Carol Carpenter, it would be so much more fun if you could be here with us, today! Hope you will try to make the next one! We miss seeing you.
Place: Sachse Comments: Toni, that is one adorable boy at the ballpark. Hudson is growing up and so cute. See you all this afternoon. Should be a lot of fun.
Place: KC, MO (working - YUCK!) Comments: I am thinking of you all today. Have a wonderful mini!!! Love to all - Carol
Place: DeKalb,Tx Comments: Just planted Tomatoes, & cucumbers, which will finished off rest of the planting. Had lots of help from Jack, Luke & Parker. This time of yr is busy with the new Calf's coming on and putting Chicken Litter on the pastures. Hope everyone has a good time Saturday.
Place: Richardson Comments: Hope we get a better response to the Mini than here on the GB. Been rather slow.On the upside, I hung 2 Hummingbird feeders on the patio this morning. I'm so excited, can't wait till dusk to see if they appear! I've seen them hanging around my rose bushes & Azaleas. Also caught and gave "free transport" to the 3rd squirrel in as many weeks. They keep eating the food I put out for my beautiful Redbirds and that's a No No!! When I capture them in the cage I give them a free ride over to the west side of Breckinridge Park where there's lots of trees and a creek. Maybe he'll run into his 2 predecessors who also stole my bird seed!
Place: Richardson Comments: Wonderful rain last night!! We got 3/4 in! Toni - Hudson is so cute in his Rangers' hat! I love seeing how many kids are at the games with their hat & gloves just waiting to catch a foul ball. This past week I saw 2 young boys about 10 or under catch a foul. They were so happy!!! Bet they told everyone at sch about how they caught that ball. Ok guys & gals . .. Don't forget about our Mini Get-Together this Saturday at the Hyatt on Campbell Rd @ Hwy 75. 2 to 6pm. I have the room with lots of couches & chairs reserved just for us and the area right outside of it is also ours! Unfortunately, no one is willing to offer us the great deal we had at the H.I. with the big Mexican Buffet for $10. But, here's a suggestion. Across the street from the hotel is a large group of restaurants! It's across Campbell and it goes way back into the area. It's called Eastside! I'll get a list and post it here for all to review. Perhaps, instead of 20 or more of us trying to travel to a restaurant & get seated together on a Saturday night, maybe we could pair up in groups of 4, 6 or 7 and each grp go where they'd like to eat. There are a plethora of eating places N. & S. on Central! Would make for much faster and better seating! Also, why not pair up with 2 other couples or several singles that you don't usually get a chance to sit by or talk to during events. Sometimes we tend to stay with the same grp of people and never really get to know others. These are just suggestions, gives you something to think about before Sat! Here's the link to our Events pg. http://www.soc1966.com/events.html
