Place: Richardson Comments: Let's see . . . a .22 , fishing license, laptop, snake. Hmmm, Hope something embarrassing doesn't end up on YouTube!
Place: The Lake Comments: Actually Jack my yard guy showed me his .22 and ammo. It!s exactly as you described. Holds 9 rounds. His had a long barrel. Nice. Going to Wally World in Quinlan to get my fishing license, Sarah a new lap top and will see ic they have it. There's another joke in here somewhere.
Place: Sachse Comments: Sam, if I may make a suggestion, you should consider a .410 shotgun. Most are single shot, no kick and low noise. They used to make one called "the snake charmer". If you do not to go with a "long gun" then consider a .22 revolver, single action (you have to cock the hammer before you pull the trigger). The make a "rat shot" load in .22 that is good for snakes. I has a bunch of BBs for a bullet so it does the job without requiring to much accuracy. Be glad to help you any way I can.
Place: Cypress springs Comments: Should he do a soft shoe and sing for it or just tell jokes until she gets back? I would be headed for the hills. Or he could just call one of our classmates, whose name I will not mention. Let's just say he nicknamed me Reynolds wrap and scared Toni with a snake.
Bobby is doing better each day but still hurts. Mom still not so good and has someone with her 24/7. Thanks for the calls and prayers.
Place: bigD Comments: Sam, I use a shovel, just hit them on the head with the flat side of the shovel then finish them off with the blade. If you're afraid they will slither off while you're going after the weapon, just stand there and entertain the snake and send Sara for the shovel.
Place: Lake Tawakoni Comments: I live in East Tawakoni off hwy 276. We can see the lake from our upper balcony. Copperheads and rat snakes are not rare, by the time I got back with the hoe, it was gone. My yard guy, who is a local, sprayed sulpha around the house, garage, and storage shed. I also got the sulpha granuals as well.. Never has a gun in my adult life, but at this rate, that's going to change.
Place: DS Comments: So sorry to hear about Mike's dad. Prayers for Mike, Karen and family. Shortcake, hope all is well with your mom and Bobby is recovering from his fall.
Place: Richardson Comments: TNX for passing along the info Jack! Where are they? Let us know if you get any other info like where they are or what his father's name is.
Place: Sachse Comments: FYI: Just spoke with Karen Davis about other things, but she told me Mike's dad has passed away and they are there making arrangements. He got sick on Labor day, got better and then worse.
Place: bigD Comments: Sam, we have snakes in our area too, at hwy 20 and spur 408. Where do you live?
Place: Richardson Comments: Don't care if you can spell it . . . did you kill it!!!??? And to think it was at the bottom of your porch.
Place: The Lake Comments: Posted a picture on Facebook. I could not even spell copperhead and yesterday I had one. Good thing Sarah was visiting friends down in Corpus Christi.
Place: Richardson Comments: Images are up and working again! Fall is so close I can feel it . . . hence the pumpkins and Fall leaves. Cool front tomorrow and a Fall cool front next Thursday. Yea!!!
Place: Problem with the images of GB Comments: Sorry the images disappeared. This time it's them and not me!! LOL They're having problems with the images but will get it fixed soon. Just click on the little X and you can still post. Thanks!
Place: Richardson Comments: I'm sorry to hear of your mom's bad condition. I know it's rough on you and Bobby, but let God lead you each day. It's in his hands and we just need to do the best we can do and not worry ourselves sick that we aren't doing enough. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Glad to hear Bobby is at least moving. A 12' fall can be deadly. Bless his heart, he's lucky to be alive. Rick - Marilyn is probably right . . . she wants company. She was so active with her Avon for so long and had lots of friends. Now she is isolated and lonely. You take care of your sweet mom and find things to talk about with her. Maybe the "old" days and when you were younger. Mom's always like remembering when their children were young. You and Shortcake are good sons and daughters. We were all raised to be respectful of our parents and it doesn't stop when we get older. Love to you both! |
