How long has this Master Bath project been going on KRL?  I'm sure Don can give him pointers on how to drag out a project if he's interested! [smile]

Waiting on all 4 Grandones to arrive & be dropped off.  Should be here by 1:00 or so and then being picked back up on Saturday.  Going to my brother's house for Thanksgiving and bringing cake, pie, cornbread dressing and a cranberry compote.  Hope everyone enjoys their time off and being with family.  Be safe & drive careful as a lot of drunk drivers on the road these days.  Love to all my SOC Friends and may we all find many ways to be thankful for all that we have.

I'm thinking maybe all this mess in ferguson over-shadowered the assassination this year! I would much rather hear about Kennedy. Maybe another week and bobby will be finished with the master bath...it has been a long haul and a lot of dust! I think he is taking his time because he thinks it will keep him from having to get out Christmas decorations! WRONG.....nothing could interfere with that! Lol. We will be in garland thanksgiving so everyone behave!

Hey Jack, I just thought is was odd how nothing was mentioned on TV or the papers, usually they at least remind us every year. I keep track of it mainly because of our ties to it. A lot of it took place not so much in Dallas but it was so close to our area of Dallas. The events are still fresh in my mind like a lot of things about my time in Texas. Maybe I spend to much time thinking about the past but the future isn't all that rosy either.

Rod, I don't know if it is forgetting the past as it is just going on. Since the Kennedy family continues to block the release of much of the information surrounding that day, (as well other information) who knows what happened? Yes, it happened here and we were labeled the city of hate, but I don't carry any guilt over it. I don't see the necessity of a yearly memorial. But then again, I am part of the minority that don't think JFK was all that great a President or man.

Sandy you cracked me up with your snow-crashing story of Buffalo!  They knew you were a keeper and a real trooper.  But we all knew that!

You guys are so right about the day of the Kennedy assassination.  We do remember the details.  I remember the exact moment in choir class when the announcement came over the loud speaker.  The emotions of that moment are still raw and painful.

You are correct Sandy, and I noticed not much was said about it, I didn't hear a word on TV or radio. What a shame some forget the past, maybe because we were so close to the death that it is imprinted in our minds and hearts a little ore than others.
We will have the two Grandsons most of the long weekend. I have a couple of projects for them that are surprises for their parents, they seem to enjoy it a lot.

It just dawned on me that today is 51 yrs since President Kennedy was assassinated.  We were only Sophs in H.S.  Hard to believe we've aged 51 yrs.

Hope everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving.  We, and our 4 G-kids, are going over to my brother's home Thurs and there'll be a total of 17 of us!  Of course our contingency makes up 6! I'm bringing desserts and cornbread dressing.

Still waiting for that rain that was promised, sure hope it doesn't pass us by!

LOL - Annette, that phrase could very well  mean, if you send someone to Buffalo they might just get lost in the 6-8 ft of snow!! For more than 15 yrs I went on & off to Buffalo.  True story: I started work for ABC Companies on Jan 1, they brought me to Buffalo 2 wks later.  Flew all day Sunday with big lay-over in Chicago.  When I arrived late that evening about 6:30pm it was in the mist of a snow storm!  A guy from the ofc was to meet me at the gate.  When I finally got off the plane and to luggage carrier the guy was there, but I had NO Luggage!  He told me I was lucky, mine was last flight allowed to land, the rest diverted to other cities.  With a blinding snow blowing everywhere we made it to the hotel.  I had nothing except my briefcase and luckily I had put my small make-up bag and toothbrush in it.

I had to go to the ofc the next mrng wearing what I had on ALL DAY during travel and with nothing but a pocket comb run through my hair.  Luggage arrived that night.  I was not prepared for Buffalo cold!!  It didn't seem to phase any of them, we went out every day for lunch & night for dinner.  We also went to Niagara Falls, At Night!  Owner of the company just had to show me how pretty the lights were at the Falls.  Coldest I've ever been in my life.  With only a TX winter coat I  shook so hard my teeth chattered.  Next yr at the Sales meeting (in January) I had a new long wool coat, long johns and snow boots!  The owner, who made a point of showing new sales people around the city, told me a few yrs later when we were kidding around about my rough start with the co, " I figure if I hire a Southerner and bring them up here in winter and they don't quit . . .  I've got a keeper!"  I returned for many meetings for many yrs and grew to love the people and the city, just not the cold.

Funny you were sent to Buffalo Sandy!  Our New York City friends tell us when you want to get rid of someone you "Shuffle 'Em off to Buffalo," especially in winter.  Of course that would never be the case with you.

Yippee!  Haven't seen you & Dru in ages John!  That darn ice storm last year was horrible.  Don & I were without electricity for 3 full days and 3 very cold nights!!
Looking forward to seeing you again!

We're getting the kids for Thanksgiving . . .  all 4 of them!!  The triplets, age 10, and even little Brooklyn who won't be 5 until the 24th of Dec.  Should be a fun-filled non-stop 4 days.  We have lots to be thankful for . . .   kids and family!!

That's a cute car, think I saw one of those in Phoenix.

Jim, maybe Carthage could rent one of the snowplows from Austin's extensive fleet?

SNL, I know you're planning to attend the Dec. 7th annual SOC Christmas Party. I hope some of your rowdy classmates will be there too. I just made our room reservations. Dru and I are looking forward to catching up with folks from the various SOC classes. Last year a major Dallas ice storm shut down our trip.

We don't know what to do with 3-4 inches of snow much less feet. The courthouse would probably shut down for the duration.

Well Rod, I still have 2-3 friends from my work before I retired.  My HQ was in Buffalo.  Made for some interesting week long Sales meetings.  Especially when they held the meetings in January!!

I'm FB  friends with them and was shocked on Wed & Thur when they started posted pics from out their front & back windows.  2 of them had over 6 feet and the other in another area only had 3 feet.  Those guys are tough!!!  But don't bring 'em here during a TX July . . . .  they'll melt!!  They even had to move the Bills/Jets game from Buffalo to Detroit bec the stadium was filled with snow and no place to put it even if they could get it out.

Humid & damp here in our area.  Waiting for the rain that's supposed to start tonight with a lot tomorrow.  We can only hope.

Speaking of cold, how is everyone in the heavy snow areas doing ? In 1969 we had 4' here in Eugene and it pretty much stopped everything, I can't imagine having to deal with 6-8 feet.
