Place: Mini next month!!

Comments:
Is everyone starting to think about a Mini?  I am!  Keeping in mind that the first Sunday in April, the 5th, is Easter . . .  How about Saturday, March 21st or possibly March 28th??

Also, here's something to think about too.  Next year will be the 50th Anniversary of our graduation from SOC!  [eek]  That's as frightening as when I had to say I turned 50!!  The wheels in my head are already turning and planning things we can do to have a great 50th.  But heaven knows, I will never be able to pull off another "surprise" or "amazing" event like I did at our 40th when the Mystics performed for us.  No, that was a one-time thing!  However, I'm going to do my best to provide a fun and entertaining time for all.  I do hope you will start making plans to attend in the fall of 2016 because I can honestly say. . .  this may be the last big reunion we have!  I won't promise a 55th or 60th because the class is dwindling and travel is getting harder for many.  We may end up having one or two Minis each year and that's it.

Please Remember, we always welcome our many friends from other Classes to attend our Minis and of course our Reunion!!  We love seeing everyone regardless of when you were at SOC.

SNL, the first 25 years  I spent trying to figure out what I wanted to do with My life.
And the last 25 years I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my life.
Same ole thing but the time is flying by faster now.

Good one Rick, but not what we are referring to.  Barkeepers Friend is a cleaning agent that can work miracles on pots and pans, sinks of any kind and much much more!  I was told about it about 15 yrs ago and it works wonders on my Wolf Gas Top Stove.  It comes in a can (like the old Comet used to) and it's a white powder.

But as you read, Toni says it's now comes in a liquid.  Don't know if it will work as well as the powder, but gonna give it a try.

Rick - it seems as thought I just celebrated a b-day and voila . . . here comes another!!  My Mom used to tell me that the older you get the faster time goes by.  Ain't it the truth!!

Barkeepers Friend , isn't that the Shark tank product, a single shot of wine in a glass? I saw that at Great Wolf Lodge when we took the Gkids there in December.

Was really saddened to hear about Lonnie Harmon's wife, although I had never met her nor ever seen her at any function.  My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Lonnie and his family.

On a brighter note...I did not care for the Super Bowl halftime show.  While I think Katy Perry is talented, I just didn't feel it!  Lenny Kravitz was performing his new act...disappearing!!  And the black female rapper, Missy Elliott...not so much.  This halftime show entertained some...just not me!

Happy belated birthday Ric!

SNL....FYI....Kroger now carries Barkeepers Friend in liquid form!

Thanks JS, can always count on you to locate someone or answer a mystery.  I knew Wayne was not in our '66 graduating class bec myself and 3 others did extensive research for our 40th reunion.  Also he wasn't listed in any of our 3 Dens.

But as we know, many of our friends we went to Elementary & Jr. High with suddenly moved by the time we got to SOC.  Some only went in the 10th & then left for Kimball or Carter.  Although I didn't know him and he ended up at Kimball, he was probably a friend to some of you.  KRL knew him.  I'm sorry for the passing of Wayne Goolsby, as he was too young.

I'm also very saddened by the passing of Terry Harmon, Lonnie's wife.  We went to the family visitation last night.  Good number of SOCites there and lots of other people.  She too was too young (barely turned 65) and Lonnie is a good friend to me and so many of us.  They were married 48 yrs.  It was heart breaking.

Here is a pic of Wayne Goolsby's senior photo from the 1966 Kimball yearbook. Look familiar to anyone?

Regarding the death of Wayne Goolsby, there are several Facebook comments saying he graduated from Kimball - Class of '66?

When I was twelve or so, there was a Goolsby family living across the street from us on W. Brownlee. Seems like they had a daughter named Gayla.

Tiger??  Did you see any stripes? That must have been a lion. Maybe they borrowed Zumwalt's mascot for the show.

I wish I could have seen that tiger better. Men dressed in black were operating the legs.
Katy's costume changes were fast, I wonder how she accomplished that?

Yes SNL, quarterback sneak or fleaflicker would have been a better play, any kind of a running play but not a pass. come to think of it the fleaflicker involves  passing the ball but appears to be a running play.

Yep, Katy Perry certainly knows how to wow 'em.  Only disappointment was Lenny only sang about half a song (not his song) with Katy and then disappeared.  But wasn't that Tiger she rode in on magnificent! That whole performance was a show stopper!

I'm still in shock at that miraculous catch by Seahawks Kearse & then the stupid call of throwing a pass from the 1 yard line.  I bet Pet Carroll relives that play in his head for many years to come!  Amazing finish!!

It's now February and thought it appropriate to change the image on the GB.

Well I can't say that I really cared who won the SB but I was disappointed at the end with that interception. The best part was the halftime entertainment, Katy Perry.
