My surgery will be this Friday morning, June 26th at Presbyterian Dallas. Sarah and I have to be there at 6:00 a.m. We will be leaving from our Daughter's house in Highland Park. I want to be on that side of the world. Presby Dallas is only about 15 minutes away from her house.
Sandy, I will email you with Sarah's cell phone number and other info.
So sorry to hear about Bobby. We were in concert choir together and he had an incredible baritone voice.

To all who would like to read Bobby Egan's obit, John Southworth was kind enough to provide it for us.  Click below:

That is sad news about Bobby Egan's passing.  He was a very brilliant and talented person as well as a terrific singer.  Prayers for family and loved ones.

Sammy - I had an issue with both feet (wearing high heels all the time since I was 18) and decided to have it corrected. Still being relatively young & stupid (39) I had both feet done at same time.  Bad decision.  But seriously, ck out the medical rental places and you may find exactly what you need for short term without buying expensive stuff you won't need after a few wks.  Is your shoulder surgery 6-27?  That's Sat, so may it's the 26th?

JS - I had received a note from David Mitchell just this morning advising he had heard of Bobby's death.  Then your post.  Thank you both for giving us this info and access to the obit.  How very sad, another wonderful SOC '66er passes away.  With Bobby's death . . . we now have 78 classmates that have left us.

Perhaps this is old news, but for those who weren't aware I'll post the link about Bobby Egan. I was good friends with his brother Mike in the Class of '63.

Good grief Sandy, how did you manage having both feet operated on at the same time? You are one tough gal.
There are several rent places in the area. I'm going to check out the Quinlan physical rehab center tomorrow to set up my post surgery appointments. They might know of some places as well.

Sorry Sam... don't know of any.  But, maybe you can ck with places like Rent-A-Center or a medical rental place.  When I had surgery on both feet at one time (not the best idea) Don rented a neat wheel chair for 30 days and it was a life saver.  That's all I got.

I am looking for a used power lift recliner I can use during my rehab after my shoulder replacement surgery. Any of you know someone please let me know.

Shortcake, I hate to hear about the loss of your longtime friend. Good friends are hard to come by, but even harder to loss.  Hope you will keep the good memories and your heart will feel better soon.

Just getting caught up on GB. So sorry about your sister Roe. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Just got Mom out of the hospital again this week. She was having pain in her chest and arm so they kept her a couple of nights and she has to go to her heart Dr this week.
My adopted big brother, Binks, passed away May 23rd. He and his parents lived behind us since I was at Zumwalt -he was at SMU. We just adopted each other and have always kept the relationship. He had cancer and I talked to him on the 21st. He did not tell me. His wife called on Sunday and told me he was gone that he wanted me to remember him from when we saw him in Jan. I will miss him forever!
We are supposed to get more rain today! Just got to where we can see the bottom of the dock! I am sure everyone around has the same problem. Have a couple of friends in garland still living in hotels. Cars and motorcycles are totaled because of water damage so I cannot complain.

My sincere condolences to my fellow SOCITE and ETSU Lion, Roe Burrow. So sorry to hear your sister passed on. Having lost my only sibling 10 years ago, I know the pain. Work through your grief and know that you can call on any of us if you need to talk, cry on a shoulder, or just chill. You are in my prayers.

Posted a new Grandone today.  She's dressed in Gold & White, what are the odds?

Yesterday, while unloading my groceries in the Kroger parking lot, we had a small SOC reunion!  Ran into KMD and Jack & Glynda.  Busy place.

Oh Karen, I'm so sorry about Chippie.  I didn't realize she was 12.  Pets can make us laugh, cheer us up when we're sad, and can break our hearts when they leave us.  I know she will be missed.

Once again I am behind on posting here as well as fb. Roe, so sad for you in the loss of your dear sister Kathleen. Prayers for you and all the family for comfort and healing.

Sam, will be thinking of you and holding you in prayer for an easy and successful surgery.

I'm really glad we are now enjoying day after day of sunshine. We were fortunate not to have any problems at our house. My routes to work and to church were all good so we were not affected too much except Mike had to go a slightly different way to work when they had that flooding by the gun range about 2 miles from us. Really sad news about the McCombs family.

On another sad note, our little dacshund Chippie passed away yesterday. She had turned 12 the day before.
