Place: Smokey Oregon Comments: Jack, my bucket list is the same everyday, make to bedtime and wake up the next morning. Also, any word on how Smokey is doing ?
Place: Richardson Comments: I'm happy for you Sam! It's always nice when your employer asks you to come back and help out. When do you start? This Monday?
Place: Lake Tawakoni Comments: I drive to work every day. Downside is it's in Garland. Doesn't Mater to me though. It's still a fun place to work.
Place: Richardson Comments: Bucket List?? Are you kidding? I wake up in a different world every day. I make plans according to how I feel that day and what time the Rangers are playing! What a great game that started at 1:05. 3 consecutive homeruns!!!!
Place: 66erville Comments: You didn't say if you accepted the offer, Sam. Can you telecommute or do you have to drive in every day? Does anybody really have a bucket list?
Place: Richardson Comments: Sammy - A temp job is good, earn a little extra spending money.
Place: Lake Tawakoni Comments: It just proves my point how really important it is to stay hydrated in this Texas heat. A good friend of Sarah's and mine designs, builds and installs water fountains and also was dehydrated. Started having kidney stone problems, etc. etc. I was asked to come out of retirement from the original Cheerleader Supply Company and help work on their Accounts Receivables. It's Monday - Thursday. The pay is nice and gives me something to do until mid December. We are looking forward to the next Mini.
Place: DS Comments: Well, you can scratch that off your bucket list
Place: HOT HOT HOT Comments: Happy Jack and James Brown Sam Smith, thanks for the kind words. Yes, I was surprised to be asked by WFAA TV to show a pool being excavated in 105 degrees. The Reporter did a nice job interviewing us and describing how to manage the heat. My Excavator's Daughter was Care Flight to Children's Hospital that week before. She over heated on the first day of cross country practice.
Place: Richardson Comments: You're right Jack, you can see a lot of the top players in Frisco (AA) or Round Rock (AAA) while they're rehabbing. Ticket prices aren't bad either and you can usually get good seats. Last night was a good game! Josh is doing well and again made the difference for us. Happy for DeShields too!! Don took the boys home Thursday and now it's quiet again. Just us and kitty. School starts on 8-24.
Place: Sachse Comments: Didn't see him on the show. Must have been the morning show. I did watch it on the web. What a natural. Did you see the stage presence? He looked straight into the camera and delivered his lines. Could be the makings of a new reality show. Glynda's company had a baseball night on the 12th. So we went to Frisco and saw the Rough Riders play Tulsa. Really had a good time. Good parking, nice ball park, cool breeze and good baseball. We plan on going back. Anybody interesting in going in a group? Looked like good seats are available and I'm told they are priced good. Probably cheaper with a group. Guy I sat next to, said he had seen Josh Hamilton play when he was rehabbing.
Place: Lake Tawakoni Comments: Did you guys see the pool guy on channel 8 news? Sandy Magee and his crew were featured. Talking about the heat and staying hydrated while digging and installing pools. By the way people, How soon we forget. IT'S AUGUST, IT'S TEXAS, GET USED TO THE HEAT!
Place: New Mexico Comments: Sandy its a 8-hr drive, a one day trip US 380 all the way to 70. We have friends that fly to El.Paso & rent a car it's about one & half hrs from El.Paso. U can also fly into Roswell now & it's about one hr drive. Sedona is 7hrs from here, another day's drive.
Place: Richardson Comments: Roe that sounds wonderful! Did y'all fly or drive? Lately I've been thinking of Sedona, AZ where the red rocks offer up beautiful vistas and the air is always cool in the morning. Have a great time!
Place: North East Texas Comments: Sandy, I know what U mean we take our usual trip to Ruidoso every August to escape the 105 degree heat. The Mountains R cool with the high today of 81, the low tonight will be 46. The Horses R running & tonight we R going to see "The Rat Mack". Love retirement. |
