Well rats Sammy!  Hate you can't make it but I bet you enjoy the game at that beautiful new stadium on the river.  Seems we're all so busy now days.  Guess we're an active bunch, which is a good thing.

I also saw on FB where the Fugate's are hosting the 7th Annual BMF Golf Tournament on Oct 2nd at Riverchase Golf Course.  If you are interested playing .... contact Don Fugate or go to the site  www.thebmfproject.org to sign up.

Sarah and I will miss the Mini. We will be in Waco that weekend attending the Baylor and Rice football game. Since our son Brian graduated from B.U. in 1999, we have never been to a game. Something we planned for a long time now.
We'll miss you guys.

WOW, we got rain, some hail and high wind! Guess a front moved thru.  Luckily the wind & hail didn't last too long and the rain was wonderful.  Save on the water bill.

Check our Events page as I posted the next Mini invite!  Please see the EVENTS page for full details but . . .  It's September 26th at the Hyatt!!!

I hear thunder . . .  would be great for a little shower!

I just heard back from Cheryl the Hyatt Mgr.  Yes Sept 26th is good as no weddings or parties are scheduled and they'd love to have us at the Bar!  She then reminded me . . .  Oct 10th is TX -OU weekend!!!  Not a good time for Mini! Right Jack!

OK, Mini will be Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Hyatt on Campbell Rd. @ Hwy 75.  Same place it was the last few times, except for this Spring at my house.  2:00 to 6:00pm.  Spread the word and I'll refer people who are on FB to look at our Events pg for the invite.  Will post it next.

Thanks for the update on Smokey, sounds like he is improving and that is great news.
Sat the winds brought the smoke into Eugene, bad enough to have a dangerous air conditions warning to be issued. We don't  have a major fire near us but the fires on the east side of the Cascades are still out of control making it very smokey. We are hoping for rain and lower temps.

Sammy - as it turned out it is easier to get an update on Smokey than to schedule a Mini at a local hotel.

I have placed 3 calls and left 3 VM to the Food & Beverage Mgr at the Hyatt.  At least it is still the same Mgr as it was for the last couple of yrs.  I know they work odd hours and not a standard 5 day-a-week schedule, so hopefully she will call me today to get a date confirmed.  I am looking at either Sept 26th or Oct 10th.

I  made an inquiry to Larry D. and received his reply, which I have posted below.  Good news at last!  You all know who we are talking about so, no full names will be posted, just the info from Larry.

Smokey has made great strides the last few months in rehab and the family hopes/expects to take him home in the next few months.

If anyone would like to send a card his address is below!

I agree Jack, it has been going on for thousands of years and nothing we can do will ever change it.

Climate change is certainly happening, but not sure it's all a warming affect.  I know what you mean about the inventor of the Internet . . . surely he can't be right about global warming. [crazy]  I think the folks in Chicago, NH, VT and the rest of the eastern area might not agree considering the horrible winter they had!

We are fine where we are at, still in the outskirts of Eugene but considered in town. We were going to go camping once more next weekend but have decided to have the boys and do things with them in town. I don't worry about us starting a fire but we have an abundance of stupid campers who don't pay attention to the restrictions and safety so. We got run out of camp 20 years ago but a lightening started fire, fire was about 100 yards from our camp so we packed up and left. Too close for my comfort so we're not taking any chances this time.
The weather over the last few years has been changing but refuse to admit that Al Gore could possibly have been correct.

I don't understand what's happened to the U.S.  Tx had 5 yrs of drought and very tight water restrictions.  Then this spring we had unprecedented rain for 4 months.  Floods & horrible things happened!  Yet your area had nothing, no rain or snow!
I've watch each night as the News shows Ca, WA, OR, and other western states burning everywhere!!  Millions of acres of trees and way too many homes are totally gone throughout several states out your way.  I do hope you and yours are safe in your home. I think about Richard Nance too, wondering if he is OK & his home.

Sammy, we have been having record setting temps this summer, what might be normal for Texas has left Oregon with extreme fire dangers, logging is shut down and many fires are burning destroying homes and entire forests. We've had a little respite this week but are going back into the 90's again. Our ski areas had a snow-less winter and the same is predicted this winter. Our rivers are down so low that sport fishing has been curtailed in many areas. Oregon is not used to this so many are suffering. We may have to change the state tree to palm trees if this keeps up.

Sorry to hear about the heat in Texas!!!! [biggrin]  As you can see we are in Bayfield, Colorado - our annual trip.   Right now it is 51 degrees - it is 9:17 am.   I still have my heater on in the RV.  We are going "Jeeping" with some friends in a little while.  [eek] That is what I look like for most of the trip! I have not really gotten totally used to  it yet.  Fortunately our driver has been doing this for about 30 years.

Unfortunately we will be leaving the cool temps on Sunday & heading home so that my sister can come to Pagosa Springs.  They are leaving on the 3rd of Sept. and one of us has to be in town.  Mom is not doing well and gets very nervous is one of us is not close by.  So we will head back so that Linda can leave for a while.  You guys try to stay cool and I will bring some cool weather back with me!!!!  [wave]

I started August 10th at Cheerleader Company. Rod, we got some of your weather today. Low 62 degrees and rain. Awesome relief from the Texas heat and 41 day drought.
When is the next mini ?
