Place: Cypress Springs Comments: New website looks great SNL. I will send Don some pics this week - although he should have some from the different things we have gone to. Course I am usually behind the camera. ![]() Go back to the Dr. next week to see if she got everything ok from the kidney stone surgery. Still running back and forth with Mom. She is in Rehab now and doing pretty good.
Place: Sunny & Beautiful in Richardson Comments: Yes indeed Carol. I think too many of us spent too much time watching football this weekend! Oh, maybe that was just us. As you read this next sentence, sing it like Peyton Manning to the Nation Wide is on Your Side tune and smile . . . " Denver's in the Super Bowl" ![]() Had a Reunion Committee meeting Saturday and things are being planned. Donnie has only received photos from one person! C'mon, if you don't send the photos we're requesting . . . well, let's just say you're going to get real bored seeing just 4 or 5 people in a 20 minute video!!!! PLEASE read the 50th Reunion info as the request is listed very prominently. Thanks!
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Just testing to see if my post goes through on the new Web site. - Carol
Place: Richardson Comments: I feel your pain Carol! We were cheering for the Chiefs too. It's always a let-down when your team loses! Don't worry, I'll delete the double post. Want to remind everyone - you can start making your hotel reservations anytime now. The hotel site is set up to give our group the $85 rate for 9-21 thru 9-27-16. Just click on the link I provided on our 50th Reunion page & it'll take you directly to the booking site and our discount is keyed-in. All you need is your cr cd!
Place: KC, MO Comments: Sorry for the double post. Guess that I'm just bummed out "times two".
Place: KC, MO Comments: Well, darn!
Place: Chiefs Kingdom Comments: Happy Playoffs Saturday, everyone! I know that I am hoping against hope, as Tom and his fellow Cheatriots are quite talented - but... GO CHIEFS!!!!!!! How great would a ROYALS championship and a CHIEFS championship in the same season be?!?!?!? Love to all - Carol
Place: Robert Faries Memorial Comments: I wanted to make sure everyone saw the invite for the memorial service for Robert Faries. David put it on FB but I know some of you aren't on FB. Sorry, but it's a large image. ![]()
Place: Reunion Hotel Update! Comments: I've been asked by several people if we could get the SOC $85 rate for more than just the 2-night reunion dates. I've been negotiating and great news!! Yes, we can have the great rate of $85 per night for 9-21-16 thru 9-27-16. I tried it out using the link on our site under the "50th Reunion" tab. Just scroll down to Hotel Reservations and the red link takes you directly to the Hyatt Auto Reservation system and our rate is keyed into it! Slick! Be smart - make your reservations early so you don't forget and are left out because the rooms are full or the cut-off date has passed. Remember, I want to "See you in September!"
Place: Mystic band member dies Comments: Robert Faries passed away Saturday, 1-9-16. He was a member of the Mystics and played with the group at our 45th reunion. He was an excellent Lead Guitar player and toured with many famous groups. He pronounced his name as "Ferris" and didn't like it when it was pronounced as it looks! He should have graduated from SOC in '65 but left sch to tour. He came and went at SOC but finally graduated in '67. David Mitchell & Robert have been life-long friends. RIP Robert. My condolences David on the loss of your dear friend.
Place: Free Ink Comments: If anyone is using an HP Office Jet 6500A printer that uses the " 920 " series of ink cartridges and would like some free ones, let me know. My HP I've had 1 mo shy of 5 yrs died on me last week. All efforts to resuscitate were futile. I have the 3 color cartridges that are 85% full and a brand new black XL. I bought a new HP Sunday and Don asked if it took the same cartridges. After laughing for 5 minutes, I said of course not, how would HP make all that money if more than one printer used the same size. That would be too easy for us. Let me know if you use the 920 cartridges and want these.
Place: Richardson Comments: Wishing Donnie & Barbara Fugate a very Happy 48th Anniversary!!! Wow, that's getting close to how old I am. Hope you are able to celebrate this day with each other or at least tonight with a great dinner!!! Love you both and congrats on 48 memorable years!
Place: Allen, Texas Comments: Sammy, sounds like you and I have the same toes!! LOL I have the same problem and need to have surgery. Waiting until I have the funds, though! I have had deformed feet all of my life. I was supposed to either have surgery to rearrange the bones in my feet, or wear leg braces. But, I threw a fit (when I was about 10 years old) and didn't have to do either. I just had to wear big, ugly, clod-hopper corrective shoes. I hated them. My problems left me severely pigeon-toed. But, joining the marching band at Zumwalt, I threw away the corrective shoes and had to march with straight feet. That helped me more than anything. But, the older I have gotten, the worse the problems have become. Interested in talking with you about your surgery when we get together again. Seems like the Smiths, Fuentes, and McKees were talking about going out for dinner one night soon. We will have to DO that real soon! Glad to hear you are doing well. Miss seeing you and Sarah!
Place: West of Grosvenor Comments: Sam, I would never make fun of someone's' misfortune especially related to health issues. As a matter of fact I wish you a speedy recovery and if you have any complications or set backs just call on me and I will be glad to send you a toe-truck.
Place: Richardson Comments: You got a point Richard. Bad choice of words on my part! Let's just say that some of our group want to drive around and check out all the changes in the Big D area. They also want to visit with family and friends. OK, that sounds much better. |
