Place: Richardson Comments: I guess the mail is clogged with lots of Christmas greeting cards because our poor mailman didn't deliver our mail until shortly after 7:00pm. Usually it's about 4:00 when he comes around. But, he brought 3 more donation checks!! A big Thank You to Rod Savage, Robert Dean and Jerry Tillery for their generous donations! ![]() Jerry - are you ready for tomorrow? I guess I am, just seems like we celebrated our B-days a few months ago! Has it almost been a year already? Geez, time flies!
Place: Richardson Comments: As a reminder, our reunion info is posted on the Events pg of this site. Also, If your Email, Pho #s or Mailing Address has changed, please let me know. You can fill out the Update Your Info form on our site or send directly to me via email, which is shown on the form pg. So many have disconnected their Home Pho #. If you send me the Update form and leave your Home Pho blank, I will assume you want be to remove it! Next year, which is almost here, is our Reunion Year! I need correct info because it's such a waste of time and money if mail returns because of an invalid address! In the last week I've received 6 updates, I'm sure there are more that have made changes!
Place: Richardson Comments: Our mailman brought another check this afternoon, Thank You Susan Sunde! I hate to say it, but we're going to watch the Cowboys game tonight. What have they got to lose but the game itself. Won't make any difference in their situation. I feel bad for people like Jason Witten, Tony Romo & others who play their hearts out and end up like this! Oh well, it's almost Christmas. MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Mailman brought gifts today! Donation cks from Richard Nance & a great friend from '65, Larry Lewis! I guess you know . . . I fully expect to see both of you at the 50th! Thanks Richard & Larry for your generosity!
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks Larry for the info about Mike Furgerson passing away. Yes, he went to SOC and he's listed in our reunion directories. At our 45th he had given me an address in Kemp, TX. Unfortunately, he is the 4th classmate this yr to pass away. Prayers for his wife and 3 children. Here's the link to Mike's obit. It says he passed away in Oct. http://themonitor.net/blog2/2015/11/05/michael-furgerson/
Place: Roanoke, Texas Comments: To All: I just received an email from a friend of mine down in east Texas that a gentlemen by the name of Michael Ray Furgerson (sp?) passed away, and he had attended SOC, and had been a member of the Air Force, and worked for Southwestern Bell. That name does not sound familiar, but it has been almost fifty years. If anyone knows, could you let SLN know. Also, I do not have my annual here. Thanks
Place: Richardson Comments: I know Richard, but I can't pronounce, much less spell, where you live. LA was easier! ![]() Yiipee! I got the first donations check today. Thank you very much Roe!!
Place: Calif. Comments: Now, there you go with your profiling again.....I don't live in LA.
Place: Richardson Comments: Richard - I thought people in LA all ate Corn Flakes because y'all are all . . . . . . uh, or sumpin' like that??
Place: Calif Comments: Well, Ms. Reynolds, as the world's most interesting man says in those commercials, "stay stoned my friends". Maybe that's the Calif. version.
Place: Fort Worth, TX Comments: Check's in the mail!
Place: Richardson Comments: Shortcake - I saw on FB you had 2 large stones removed yesterday. Hopefully you will be feeling much better in a few days and then those worrisome stones will be gone for good! Take care of yourself and then enjoy Christmas with family. Just think . . . this surgery is an ace-up-your-sleeve. Perfect excuse! Just say, "Oh, I'm sorry, due to the surgery I can't do much until I fully recover." The website makeover is going well. So far I have 4 pgs completed and looks like I will be able to get all the pgs (except all the photos pgs) up and ready by Jan. 1st! The photo pgs will follow as we go forward. But at least I'll be able to post our next Get-Together pics easily and without spending half a day doing it!! P.S. Thanks to those who sent emails and/or posts responding to the Donation Request!!! Hope to see those checks coming in this week. Will let you know how it goes & how many respond!
Place: Cypress springs Comments: Ok....so I had surgery for my kidney stones yesterday. Went to the Dr. on Monday, she called me when I was driving home after doing some shopping and said the surgery was on for yesterday. She did not wasn't to wait until I ended up with kidney damage. So now I am just in pain for a while! Hopefully not too long. Bobby is great about doing things around here though.
Place: Richardson Comments: First of all - thank you Richard for your "check in the mail" comment! Secondly, Nightmare on Elm Street with your young G-dtr!!?? That's your idea of comedy? But then, you always have had an interesting take on life. LOL Geeez, I can't even watch the grizzly show FARGO . . . it gives me nightmares! Don watches it, but after the 2nd show I had to tune out! I posted a note on FB asking all the '66ers to make sure I have their correct mailing address or other info and to do it soon. Next year will be a busy one for the Committee and we will send out invites in April, so either fill out & submit the Update Your Info form on this website or send it directly to me at my email address. I sure don't want to get a lot of "return mail". Thanks so much!
Place: Calif. Comments: These days I'm looking for humor in anything. I was watching the original "Nightmare on Elm St." a couple of weeks ago with my granddaughter Avery (yeah, I know...). Anyway, after losing several nights sleep due to Freddie's wrath, the lead teenage girl was sitting on the edge of her bed and picks up a hand mirror. Looking in it she says "my God, I look 20". I don't know why I'm still laughing over that line.......age maybe. |
