Place: Dallas Presbyterian hospital Comments: As you can see I am setting in Presbyterian hospital. My Mom fell yesterday and broke her left hip. She had surgery this morning and they put a pin in it. She is back in her room right now asleep. The Dr. said the next 24-48 hours are the most critical. Not a great start to the new year!
Place: SOC 1965 Comments: Happy New Year to the class of 1966. Your new site is just beautiful Sandy! Wish we had a site for the 65 class. Wishing all of you a very prosperous and healthy new year. I enjoy reading your comments on this site, so much enthusiasm in here. God Bless.
Place: Richardson Comments: Happy New Year's Eve! Our new website has just been published!!! Please check it out! The Guestbook button is located at the very bottom of each page. I don't really like it there now that I see the site published. Will move it later. But for now . .. it all worked, as well as the link to our GB! Our 4 G-kids are here so gotta go as we're about to head out to the movies! HAPPY NEW YEAR one and all. I love you guys . . . be safe!
Place: Oregon Comments: I have been watching the news and the photos posted on FB, I can not believe the damage that done. I hope everyone's family and all classmates made it through OK. We might get a lot of rain in Oregon but I will take it over the flooding and tornadoes any time. My best to everyone.
Place: Richardson Comments: I guess Network Solutions had to get one final screw-up in before I left them. As of late last night our website is down!! After talking with them for almost an hour I gave up. I will bring up our new site within next few days and will be rid of NS for good! At least our GB works. Check our site on New Year's day and you should see a new and improved site. (fingers crossed) Once you see the new site, be sure to bookmark it as well as the GB so you will have the direct string. I don't dare try to make any changes to the GB for fear it may disappear, so the Christmas images will remain until I can get everything transferred and working. Happy New Year everyone!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Been out of pocket last 3 days, hope everyone had a good Christmas! Also - is everyone in the Sachse, Wylie, Lavon, Rowlett & Garland area OK? Those tornadoes last night were horrible!! It came really close to Don & Barb and Jeanne & Bill but I talked to both this morning and they are fine & no damage that they know of. Carol - I know how traumatic that must have been for you to move your mom to an asst. living place. As a dtr, you want to take care of her (which you have for 22 yrs) but she also needs add'l care that you can't give her 24/7. It was the right thing to do, although I know from experience, it doesn't make you feel any better about it. Go visit her a lot and be there to show her you care, that's all you need to do. My best wishes to you and God Bless you for being such a good dtr! FYI to ALL - I've got 6 pgs done on our new website. I plan to Publish & bring it up on January 1. We will still have our same Domain Name, soc1966.com. When you type it in it will continue to pull up the old site until I publish the new one, then it will show the new site. Please ck out our new site and let me know what you think. We will continue to have our GB and nothing will be lost on it as it is not part of our site. It's from another vendor and I link it up to the GB button. None of the photos will be there for now, but as we go forward I will load up our old photos and be able to add new photos of our Spring Get-Together and of course our 50th. Here's the new phrase for our upcoming 50th, "See You In September!"
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments:
I've been remiss about posting for some time. My brothers and I had to put our mother, who turned 100 on August 6th, into an assisted living facility in July. Momma had lived with me for the 22 and ½ years prior to that, and making the decision to move her was the hardest thing that I ever have faced, short of the loss of a family member or friend. Since July I have spent most of my time either at work or at Brookdale and just have not taken the time to check in here. Intellectually I know that the move was best for Momma, but I don’t feel that. Our apartment is pretty much just a place to go at night – not really a home now, except that our Ollie Kitty is there. So glad that I have him! Wishing Christmas Blessings to My Dear SOC Friends - and Wishing Peace for the New Year.
Place: McKinney, Texas Comments: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE GOLDEN BEARS AND YOUR FAMILIES FROM THE MCGEE BUNCH. We had 6 Grandkids spend the night last weekend. That really spread the spirit of the holidays in our home. This time of year brings back a lot of memories of Parents and Grandparents. Hug someone and tell em' you love them. Thank you to all for your friendship all these years. Sandy
Place: 66erville Comments: A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL. May the joy of CHRISTMAS be with each and every one of you and your families. Thanks(?) Richard for the special greeting. Hope JD is doing well and that he will drop in soon.
Place: CALIF Comments: Merry Christmas to all of you folks. Especially the Mother of them all.......Jack H. (it's just all you were talking about "mother" for some reason). And to JD...he's been silent for a while. Merry Christmas my man.
Place: Richardson Comments: Sounds like a good plan to me Jerry! I hate using a "6" a the beginning of my age. Can you believe it's 74 degrees on my temp gauge right now. So much for wearing the nice Christmas sweater for tomorrow night or Friday! Maybe I'll pull out a silk blouse.
Place: Houston Comments: I am a little late in the day, but better late than never. Rather than birthdays, I decided a few years ago to celebrate the anniversary of my 40th birthday. So Happy 28 anniversary to our 40th birthday to my twin Sandy. Thanks for all the hard work you put in to keep this website going. Thanks to my brother from another Mother Jack for the shout out.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thank you Jack! It's a beautiful day and I plan to bake a cake today while listening to the new CD , "Adele 25" I received for my B-day! No, not a B-day cake, but rather one for Christmas Eve with our family. To my twin - Jerry Tillery, Happy B-day and may we both have many more birthdays to celebrate!
Place: 66erville Comments: A very Happy Birthday to my Brother by a different mother, Jerry Tillery and his birthday sharing twin, the lady who keeps this group of cats herded, Sandy Norman Lynn! May you both have long lives and the last voice your hear be mine!
Place: Richardson Comments: Hey Cathy Wood Nickols - Received your donation check today, Thank You so much!!! |
