I wish they had found my sr ring. No telling where David lost it.
How is the humidity up there?

FYI - Update on the story about Roy Goodloe & the person who found his Sr. ring after it was lost for almost 50 yrs.  It did not appear in the DMN today.  It's suppose to tomorrow, 9-23.  I hope so because I can't wait to read it. Maybe there will be a photo? [biggrin]

Sammy - Sounds like you've got the Reunion Spirit!!!  Can you believe we have a heat wave here through Sunday with some rain forecast.  But come Monday . . .  a cool front.  Sorry folks, you won't need a coat!  I think Sammy is bringing a swim suit, or . . .  or maybe not? [eek]

Heck, why not just stay in the Sun Room area and have breakfast? No need to bring pajamas. We don't need sleep. This only happens once every 50 years. We can snack until 2:00. Go up to each other's room and then right back down.
Or, we can all jump in the pool !

Sandy, you are like the duck on a pond, calm and cool on top but paddling like heck under water. This sounds like the reunion to beat all reunions, I know a great time will be had by all. Wish I could be there.
One good bit of info, the Dr's have decided that I won't need a skin-graft at this time, so no more time in the hospital. Now I will have vacation time left for hunting, at least sitting on my butt and waiting for one to mosey by.

Holly Cow - only two days before the 50th!!  Hope everyone is as excited as I am.

As a special note - I had posted something here last September about the reuniting of a SOC '66 Senior ring that had been lost for almost 50 yrs.  My secret source has advised me that an article will appear in the Dallas Morning News tomorrow (9-22) about where the ring was found and how it made it's way back to it's owner.  The article will also mention our reunion.  Can't wait to get the paper in the morning!!

Me too Susan!  Unfortunately my house looks like I'm actually moving! No kidding, my ofc is full of boxes and "stuff" that needs packing at the last minute or can't be packed at all.  Like the big Party sign.  The bar counter is full of boxes filled with Registration packets and my dinning room has decorations ans snack food for the After Party.

The Committee needs your help - like other hotels we've encountered, there is no Hospitality Suite.  Therefore, they are being nice and said we could congregate in the Sun Room where they serve breakfast each morning.  It's a big area with lots of tables & chairs.  They only ask one thing . . . Please clean up after ourselves as the room has already been cleaned for the morning breakfast.  There are trash cans available & when we leave we must wipe down the tables that we mess up.  We've got "snacks" for each night so please remember "Your mother doesn't work there . . .  put it in the trash! [tongue]  Sorry, couldn't resist! [biggrin]  We've got it until 2:00am, but then there's lots of couches around the area to sit and talk as long as you like.

So sorry we won't get to see you, Mike!  I know you'll be with us in spirit and there will be many pictures for you look at afterwards.

I talked to Ada Ann and Sandy in the last couple of day.  We're all getting excited.  I've already started packing.

Sorry, this is a private entry which is only viewable by the owner.

Hey Classmates. If you have not neatd, I had a massive stroke about 4 weeks ago and ending up staying in the hospital for 2 weeks. Due to this. The Dr has forbidden me from driving as my balance has gone wacky and I will not be able to attend this weekend. I regret this as I really wanted to see my classmates and I wish all of you the very best.

Carolyn I think you need to re-read my post. I said bring cool clothes. We had a "cool" spell (for us anyway) a couple of weeks ago. One night it was down to the lower 70s or upper 60s. But as I was saying the late summer temperatures are back. Local weather guesser are saying 40% chance of rain Saturday and 30% Sunday.  Wanted you coastal folks to feel at home too.

Jack, I looked at the Dallas weather this morning and it said 80% chance of rain Sat & Sun, high 92. When is this cool weather?

For all you folks not in the area, but are coming in for the reunion. The reunion committee has managed to bring in some typical late summer weather to remind you of how it was back then. It wasn't easy as we have been having a less hot end of summer the last few weeks.  The "See you in September" program wanted you to "feel" the best last days of school, including the weather. There is no charge for this bonus. So bring so cool clothes if you plan on being outside. Won't be long now.

I certainly am glad that we are at max for the reunion. I second Sandy's " wear your badges campaign". I'll be the first to admit I won't know everyone and putting names to faces is important and saves us all from embarrassment.
It will be great to see everyone in four days!

Dear Richard Nance:

I have been trying to find you on Facebook but cannot.  I was delighted to see your note on SOC 66, and I look forward to reuniting with you.  Send me a FB friend request, and I'll jump on it.  We have much to catch up on.  Thanks, old friend.

Yours,
Randy Conine
