Place: Reunion Central Comments: Me too Susan! Unfortunately my house looks like I'm actually moving! No kidding, my ofc is full of boxes and "stuff" that needs packing at the last minute or can't be packed at all. Like the big Party sign. The bar counter is full of boxes filled with Registration packets and my dinning room has decorations ans snack food for the After Party. The Committee needs your help - like other hotels we've encountered, there is no Hospitality Suite. Therefore, they are being nice and said we could congregate in the Sun Room where they serve breakfast each morning. It's a big area with lots of tables & chairs. They only ask one thing . . . Please clean up after ourselves as the room has already been cleaned for the morning breakfast. There are trash cans available & when we leave we must wipe down the tables that we mess up. We've got "snacks" for each night so please remember "Your mother doesn't work there . . . put it in the trash! Sorry, couldn't resist! We've got it until 2:00am, but then there's lots of couches around the area to sit and talk as long as you like.
Place: North Richland Hills, TX (ie, Ft Worth) Comments: So sorry we won't get to see you, Mike! I know you'll be with us in spirit and there will be many pictures for you look at afterwards. I talked to Ada Ann and Sandy in the last couple of day. We're all getting excited. I've already started packing.
Place: Houston Comments: Hey Classmates. If you have not neatd, I had a massive stroke about 4 weeks ago and ending up staying in the hospital for 2 weeks. Due to this. The Dr has forbidden me from driving as my balance has gone wacky and I will not be able to attend this weekend. I regret this as I really wanted to see my classmates and I wish all of you the very best.
Place: 66erville Comments: Carolyn I think you need to re-read my post. I said bring cool clothes. We had a "cool" spell (for us anyway) a couple of weeks ago. One night it was down to the lower 70s or upper 60s. But as I was saying the late summer temperatures are back. Local weather guesser are saying 40% chance of rain Saturday and 30% Sunday. Wanted you coastal folks to feel at home too.
Place: Southeast Texas - Gulf Coast Comments: Jack, I looked at the Dallas weather this morning and it said 80% chance of rain Sat & Sun, high 92. When is this cool weather?
Place: 66erville Comments: For all you folks not in the area, but are coming in for the reunion. The reunion committee has managed to bring in some typical late summer weather to remind you of how it was back then. It wasn't easy as we have been having a less hot end of summer the last few weeks. The "See you in September" program wanted you to "feel" the best last days of school, including the weather. There is no charge for this bonus. So bring so cool clothes if you plan on being outside. Won't be long now.
Place: Dallas Comments: I certainly am glad that we are at max for the reunion. I second Sandy's " wear your badges campaign". I'll be the first to admit I won't know everyone and putting names to faces is important and saves us all from embarrassment. It will be great to see everyone in four days!
Place: Calif. Comments: Done, Randy.
Place: Oak Cliff, Texas Comments: Dear Richard Nance: I have been trying to find you on Facebook but cannot. I was delighted to see your note on SOC 66, and I look forward to reuniting with you. Send me a FB friend request, and I'll jump on it. We have much to catch up on. Thanks, old friend. Yours, Randy Conine
Place: Sugar Land Comments: Sam, your friends in Spring are almost an hour closer to Garland than I am. Hopefully the weather will be good here next weekend(no hurricane). I see that Annette Forston lives in The Woodlands, right by Spring. I think there are at least two more that live around here from our group. Looking forward to seeing if I recognize people and if not, that my short-term memory doesn't fail me! Lol! I will laugh with you, Karen!
Place: La La Land Comments: That should be "Now is the time for all good men...". I TOLD you my memory was patchy.
Place: Sachse Comments: I am also excited to see everyone. What a great list of people coming. Carolyn Evans I am right there with you. My memory is somewhat patchy too so hopefully we can all help each other fill in the blanks and laugh until our faces hurt. I do remember Miss Houser (always cute and perky). Chris Paul was the one I raced against in typing most of the time, becoming quite proficient at least with "All good men...".
Place: 66erville Comments: Jes, you need to wear jur stinking badges. Some don't look the same and some don't see as well as they used to. They are very nice badges. You should wear they proudly. Charles Moss hakes the BEST badges! If you got no badge, we won't know who you and have to search you~
Place: Renuion Central Comments: Glad you & new hubby are attending Janice! Yes, the Fugates, Hawkins & Lynn/Broughton consortium are doing their 3rd reunion together. Jack & Donnie have put together a very nice Remembrance Program for Saturday at 2:00pm. Of course Fugate productions will have an outstanding video for us Saturday night. And maybe we will have a few surprises! Don't for get the Remembrance Program @ 2:00pm in the Richardson Room. It's on the 1st flr. 1st door on the left down the only hallway on the 1st flr. up near the front of the hotel. Also, a big Reception will be held each night from 5:30 to 6:30pm in the foyer outside the ballroom. The ballroom is in the back of the hotel and there is lots of parking in the back. You can walk right in the back doors and you are at the ballroom and the Reception. Remember - Pick up your packet on Fri night and put your name badge on. You should also wear it Saturday night, at least through the Reception and until we are seated for dinner. I think we should do it as a courtesy to all the new comers who don't know who we are. ![]() |
