Thanks to Sandy Norman Lynn, Barbara and Donnie Fugate, and Jack Hawkins (and Glynda I'm sure) for your tireless hours of planning, preparing and pulling off the greatest reunion ever! I really enjoyed getting to catch up with old and dear friends. I know there were people I missed saying hello to so "Hello" to those half dozen or so people! What fun...what fun! Thanks again and again reunion committee!
Place: Plano, TX Comments: I want to give a BIG "Thank You" to Sandy, the Fugates, Jack Hawkins, and probably many others that put this last "big" 50th Reunion together. What a great job over many months of work and planning! Friday night, Saturday's Tribute in the afternoon, and Saturday evening's dinner and activities. I enjoyed the many conversations and seeing everyone from out-of-state plus those living in Texas. Thank you so much!
Place: Oregun Comments: Great story about Roy's ring, glad he got it back. Mine was stolen years ago when we had a break in while we were at work. I checked the pawn shops and the police but never found it. I also had a rind my Grandmother had given me, a black stone with a Roman looking head engraved on it, also stolen and never recovered. I know every one will have a great time at the reunion, so be safe and enjoy. I will be waiting for the photos.

Jack - how on earth did y'all bribe my cousin, Larry Edwards, to register for this one? Dug out my '66 ring - it's pinky-size now. Sent Mike Dunn a note that we'll miss him at this one - was looking forward to seeing him again. Looking forward to seeing all of y'all - til tomorrow evening!
Place: Reunion Choas Comments: Carolyn - Our humidity is fine . . . we have LOTS of it! No shortage here. I'm getting my clothes ready to go in suitcase in the morning. Also have 18 boxes or large bags lined up full of stuff for both nights. Al of it goes . . . Here's a tip regarding the name badge code. Remember, these badges are custom made, no run-of-the-mill for this class. Here's the code . . . All '66ers have GOLD badges. All Guest/Spouses/Friends have WHITE badges. Therefore if you see someone with a GOLD one, yeah you need to sneak a peek at their name because you probably know them! ![[biggrin]](/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif "Big Grin - :D") You can breath easy if they have a WHITE badge because they aren't from our class. ![[smile]](/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif "Smile - :)")

Place: Reunion Central Comments: FYI - Update on the story about Roy Goodloe & the person who found his Sr. ring after it was lost for almost 50 yrs. It did not appear in the DMN today. It's suppose to tomorrow, 9-23. I hope so because I can't wait to read it. Maybe there will be a photo? Sammy - Sounds like you've got the Reunion Spirit!!! Can you believe we have a heat wave here through Sunday with some rain forecast. But come Monday . . . a cool front. Sorry folks, you won't need a coat! Place: Dallas Comments: Heck, why not just stay in the Sun Room area and have breakfast? No need to bring pajamas. We don't need sleep. This only happens once every 50 years. We can snack until 2:00. Go up to each other's room and then right back down. Or, we can all jump in the pool !
Place: Oregun Comments: Sandy, you are like the duck on a pond, calm and cool on top but paddling like heck under water. This sounds like the reunion to beat all reunions, I know a great time will be had by all. Wish I could be there. One good bit of info, the Dr's have decided that I won't need a skin-graft at this time, so no more time in the hospital. Now I will have vacation time left for hunting, at least sitting on my butt and waiting for one to mosey by.
Place: Reunion Chaos Comments: Holly Cow - only two days before the 50th!! Hope everyone is as excited as I am. As a special note - I had posted something here last September about the reuniting of a SOC '66 Senior ring that had been lost for almost 50 yrs. My secret source has advised me that an article will appear in the Dallas Morning News tomorrow (9-22) about where the ring was found and how it made it's way back to it's owner. The article will also mention our reunion. Can't wait to get the paper in the morning!! |
