Place: KC, MO Comments: Sounds like Karen should be having a wonderful vacation right about now. Hopefully she will have lots of pictures to show at the next get-together. I found out Friday that I need cataract surgery - so I reluctantly scheduled it for April 19th. Really looking forward to that! (Isn't cataract surgery for old people? Why do I need it?!?) I think it would be great if we "66ers" help the "67ers" celebrate their 50th! There was a lot of interaction between the classes due to sports, band, choir, Debs, clubs, etc. Maybe we could coordinate the '66 fall mini with the '67 reunion. What does everyone (especially you, Sandy) think about that? Maybe Sheryl Bunyard could keep us informed about the '67 reunion. (My work computer bans me from the '67 site.) Love to all - Carol
Place: Richardson Comments: Yesterday, Saturday, we took a little trip to the Melissa Landfill. 32 minutes from our house. Don has been working on repairing and sprucing up our fence before we have it power washed and stained. Had a lot of big rocks, concrete and things curbside pickup won't take. FYI to all Collin County residents . . . the 1st Saturday of each month it's Free. Otherwise, a minimum of $32 and up depending on what you have to dump. Easy access & people there to unload it. Good deal! Then we stopped in McKinney and ate at Snug on the Square. Great food and it was so pretty we ate on the patio. Had shade from an umbrella and it's always fun people watching! Lovely day and very good food!
Place: Richardson Comments: I've been thinking about it Sammy because I know a lot of people from '67. Now that I know y'all are going (and of course I now know the Mullins) . . . makes it sound pretty enticing.
Place: Dallas Comments: Are any of you planning on going to the SOC 1967 reunion this September? Both Marvin and Shirley Mullins and Jerry and Terry Fisk asked us to go to their 50th.
Place: Cypress Springs Lake Comments: SNL....it is something we had thought about for awhile but as long as we had Mom did not want to be that far away. As long as we are at the lake Bobby is going to spend all his time (and energy) working on the boat and grounds. Everyone calls him and he needs to start relaxing. He needs to enjoying himself...not working
Place: Richardson Comments: Well Shortcake, I'm shocked! Had no idea y'all were thinking of selling your lakehouse and permanently moving to Kerrville. At least you'll save a lot of time and gas money driving down there all the time! Congrat, hope y'all will really enjoy it.
Place: Cypress Springs lake Comments: A lot going on right now! We have decided to sell our house at Cypress Springs Lake and relocate to Kerrville. We have already gotten a larger casita there and will move into it the end of April. One of our neighbors wants to buy the lake house so did not have to put it on the market. We are leaving tomorrow for Zurich with my sister and brother-in-law. Going to go on a River Boat cruise down the romantic Rhine! Been on a lot of regular cruises but no river boat. After the last feweeeks Really looking forward to it. Did it the long way! Been paying monthly for it for a year. Everything is paid for now. Fun! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we start this new adventure in our lives.
Place: Cypress springs Comments: Jack...yes I did know it was Hawk's dad. I sent out a notice to the Association to let them know. Could not get to the visitationbut you know I am thinking of you guys. Having just lost Mom I know how devastating this can be. You guys have a strong family though and need to turn to each other. Love you.
Place: The Woodlands Comments: Jack, so sad to lose your dear brother. We send you and your family our heartfelt prayers for your loss. He certainly had an impressive life. I thought is was great how he worked with the horses at the Singing Hills riding stable. That was a great place to remember. I didn't know he was a part of their success.
Place: Sachse Comments: I want to thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, cards and phone calls. They mean the world to me. It is very warming to be cared for in such thoughtful ways. And thank you for those who attended the visitation and/or the service. Sorry I didn't get to spend more time with you, but your attendance is greatly appreciated.
Place: My bungalow Comments: So sorry to read of your loss Jack. You and your family will be in my prayers. 🙏
Place: Richardson Comments: We went to the visitation last night for Jack's brother, Richard Hawkins. I've attached a link to Restland's obit for those who ask about it. RIP Richard. Link to obit http://www.restlandfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Richard-Hawkins-7/#!/Obituary
Place: Mansfield Comments: Jack, we are very sorry for your loss. I remember your brother while we were in Cub Scouts. I wanted to grow up and be a teenager like him. I thought he was cool. We will remember your family in prayer.
Place: NYC Comments: Dear Jack, Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
