Place: Richardson Comments: You got it Carol, I'll do my best to copy it and attach to your email. But for right now, just know, the reunion is Sept. 22 & 23, 2017. It's at the Double Tree on Hwy 75 @ Campbell. If it sounds familiar, it is. We had our 45th there and it's caddy corner across the street from the Hyatt Richardson where we have had the last several minis, which you attended last time. It starts at 7:00pm Friday, 9-22, with a Taco Bar in the Lounge and a Cash Bar for drinks. On Saturday, 9-23, it's in the Ballroom 6 to 7pm is Cocktails with a Cash Bar. At 7:00pm Dinner, Program, Dancing wit Cash Bar. The hotel reservation # is 972-644-4000 ask for the SOC '67 group rate. Keep in mind, I'm simply repeating what was shown. But I did see on thier GB that the discount room rate was $109 per night and that doesn't include all the taxes. I thought it was high for a group rate!? Makes you feel even better about our $85 rate! Although it did say it too included breakfast.
Place: KC, MO Comments: Sandy, I need all of the info that you can send - dates, times, place, registration info, hotel reservation info. So far I just know that the reunion is in September. It would be great if you could send everything to my E-mail address...and THANK YOU SO MUCH! - Carol
Place: NYC Comments: So, Sandy and Ada Ann and all, don't forget the lip balm with spf!! Oh, and my MOHS surgeon was a women. She had sensitivity to our concerns -whatever the age. She put that stitch in just so my lip would be the proper shape. Gotta love her but then she went off and got a job somewhere else, probably out of NYC. Maybe somewhere the weather is perfect all year round! Happy Spring!
Place: Richardson Comments: Hi Carol, glad your eye is doing well. I can send you what ever you need regarding the '67 reunion. Are you already signed up or do you need a registration form? Do you want the cover page that gives the date time, place, etc? Can I send it to your email or do you want it mailed? Let me know, I'll do it as soon as you tell me what you need. Looking forward to seeing you and lots of other 66ers at the '67 reunion! I know some of us '66ers married people from '67!! So far, I know The Smith's are coming as well as Charles Moss, myself and of course, Carol.
Place: KC, MO Comments: Hi, everyone! Sorry that I've been away for a few weeks. This has been a busy time for me at work. I came in today hoping to do a few little things while listening to the Royals game (some might say why bother!), but that game was blocked on my computer - so I'm listening to the Rangers game! Go, Rangers! My cataract surgery went well. I'm still using one of the two types of prescribed eye drops. My next appointment will be May 19th; I'll probably decide then if/when to have the other eye done. I don't know if cataracts are hereditary or if most people get them by a certain age (which is what I have been told). Momma had both eyes done, as has my brother David. My brother Bobby has had one eye done and will have the other done in a couple of weeks. I was sorry to learn of the passing of Shirley's sister and Carolyn's sister-in-law. My condolences. I also was sorry to hear about the damages and loss of property caused by the tornadoes. Glad that Gordy was not hurt and that Karen's friend is in recovery. Also - all of the problems with the BCCs! Hoping for speedy recoveries for all. Thankfully I had no issues when I had one removed above my left eye well over a decade ago - just a black eye for a short time. Actually the result was a bit of a mini lift for that eye! If someone would send the information about the '67 reunion to me, I would appreciate that. I can't get to the '67 site. Sandy - I will be sending an E-mail to you - absolutely no pressure to respond anytime soon. Love to all - Carol
Place: Richardson Comments: Ada Ann I'm right there with you. After the 1st BCC removal from my face I bought a hat. I needed it thru yet another one on my face a yr later. Now I always put my hat on and a pair of sunglasses when I go out and it's sunny. Next time we go to a Rangers game I want to buy one of the cute hats that has the Rangers band & logo on it. Might as well go in style! Glad we've all survived with only a few scares here and there. I cringe evertime I pass our HOA pool and see several ladies there basting in the sun. They look like lobsters! And one of them has already had numerous BCCs removed all over her body. She must have a death wish??
Place: NH Comments: On a sunny day, I will never leave home without a hat and sunscreen. The surgery went well....glad it is over. Yes, this is one thing that is hitting all of us. Joe took a picture of my forehead before the skin graft was done.....I told him that he is never to show it to anyone....especially me! JS....you were the brave one! Sally, I can't imagine surgery on my lip...how did you ever keep it covered???
Place: Sunny & Beautiful in Richardson Comments: Hi Sally! Good to hear fro you. Now your lip is certainly a sensitive spot, but couldn't help but laugh when you said he lined-up the stitches with your wrinkle. Cleaver Doc! It's interesting how many of us are starting to admit we've had BCCs removed. Who knew back then that all those sunburns from water skiing, snow skiing and sun bathing would lead to this? Glad yours turned out OK. We're finally going into nice weather. Starting yesterday it's sunshine and warm. It's been cool ( 56-60) of a morning but warms up quickly. Wish it would stay like this year round. Oh, never mind . . . then I would be in CA!
Place: NYC Comments: I had BCC on my lip!! Now that is a sensitive place. It was very swollen and I had to go back to work on Monday. But I was glad the dr was doing MOHS. Otherwise she would have taken out so much more lip just to be safe -- and she lined up the stitches with my wrinkles on the skin above the lip. Oh joy!! I am just pleased that I was never burned by the sun like my dad was. His face and arms were covered with it. He had so much BCC removed that the bump in his Roman nose was removed. But he was still handsome!! We are having a lovely spring. Can still be cool- which I so prefer to hot. Hope you are all enjoying spring --and stay out of the sun!
Place: Richardson Comments: JS - You know our SOC connections run deep. It was our classmate, Carolyn Evans Martin, who posted the note. Elaine Amos was her sis-n-law. JS - you are the only one of us who was brave ( crazy?) enough to post your face on FB! Not a chance I'd ever do that. I wouldn't even leave the house without my big sunglasses & my cute hat. The glasses covered the stitches and bruising around my eye, the hat made me invisible!
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: To Ada Ann, Toni, Sandy Lynn and any others who have undergone or are facing Mohs Surgery - I share your pain and apprehension. This time last year I was dealing with a gruesome skin graft from my forehead to the tip of my nose. It wasn't life threatening, but Dang, it was no picnic either. Wasn't there an old song that proclaimed "We had joy, we had fun ... we had seasons in the sun"? Now we're paying the price for those seasons. Ada Ann, I wish you smooth sailing with tomorrow's procedure. ps - thanks for the notice of the passing of my '63 classmate Elaine Amos Gentry.
Place: Richardson Comments: Shortcake - how very sad for the couple. Hearbreak all around us. Susan - eq. is the abbreviation for equipment.
Place: Kerrville Comments: We had two firemen whose houses were hit. One of them was completely destroyed. Charlotte was home and the tornado dragged her under a bed and out the front door. One of our off duty paramedics found her unconscious in the front yard and took care of her until her husband got home to take her to the hospital. Got cuts, bruises and stitches. Their son passed away last year and they lost all of his pictures and possessions.
Place: Ft Worth Comments: Sandy, thanks for letting us know that Gordy is OK. What does eq mean?
Place: Melissa TX USA Comments: SNL, glad you heard from Gordy and that he's ok. I had totally forgotten he had the place in Canton. Ada Ann, I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers for an easy surgery. I opted out of the surgery on my nose and left eyebrow. To add insult to injury so to speak....Bruce just went yesterday to the MOHS surgeon for four biopsies. Hoping for better results for him. |
