Place: North Richland Hills, TX Comments: I just discovered that SOC is holding SOC Farewell Tours through the 23rd of this month. You can go to SOC Bear Cave on Facebook to learn about it. I've also posted it.
Place: Kerrville Comments: Slowly getting things done. Still have to set up a new email and new account for Facebook. Global fraud has told us that you should never ever use your real name as a user name. He said that is making it easy for any hacker or scammer. That no matter how many times you click on the security Lin’s if they have your real name it is extremely easy to get all kinds of info on you. He said that is how they initially got my info. And Susan was lucky....now the FBI does not get involved in it unless it is over a certain amount and even now it is incrediably hard to catch a hacker. You should check your accounts every morning - specially this time of year. Will let you know when things get set up.
Place: Richardson Comments: Folks, please let me remind you again - - - Do not call or click on a link from what "appears" to be from your Bank, Credit Card Co. or Utility Co! They do NOT send you email asking for info. They call or send you a letter. Hardly a week goes by I don't get EM from Bank of America & Chase telling me someone has accessed my on-line banking account and I need to verify my info by clicking on a link. The joke is on them - - I don't have a B of A account and I don't have on-line banking. If you have doubts, go to your bank or call them, but whatever you do DON'T click any link. It's not safe out there. Shortcake - I'm so sorry y'all are going thru so much trouble with being hacked. Take care and make sure every on-line account has a different password. Take care kiddo.
Place: Dallas Comments: Evidently it's that time of year when the scammers come out. Sarah received a text this morning from ( J.P. Morgan Chase ) stating her debit card was locked and to call an area 837 phone number. She called and got a recorded message asking for her social security number. She immediately hung up and called Chase Bank customer service. The CSR told her it's a scam and Chase never calls or texts asking for this info. About 10 minutes later, I received the same text. We both deleted the text message after we wrote down their phone number.
Place: North Richland Hills Comments: Wow, Karen! I didn't know people get hacked over and over like that! Some years back, someone got into our checking account. I went to the bank and they checked it out and called the FBI. It turned out that the hacker was another Bank of America customer. It took the bank about two minutes to discover who it was. It was a case of America's Dumbest Criminals. Some guy in Arizona. By the time I left the bank, the FBI was on their was to his house to pick him up. Sorry you and Bobby had to experience this.
Place: Kerrville Comments: Hope everyone is good and over Thanksgiving. Just for information....In the middle of November our Savings account got hacked. We went to the bank and had all or our accounts changed. Last week our checking account got hacked two days in a row. We went back to the bank. While we were looking at our account someone transferred a substantial amount of money our of savings into checking and then tried to withdraw it by giving it to three different people. Fortunately all of these transactions were caught in the pending stage. My email acct got hacked - I got the other site deleted. Then they hacked my phone and tried to put a call forward on it. Unfortunately for them AT&T called to confirm that....I now have what they call extreme security on it.
Place: Calif. Comments: Does Sandy Magee still peek at this site. I had a house guest who was Sue-Sue's friend/acquaintance in the 60's who wants to send her a "hello". Kay Hamric says "hey" to Sue-Sue.
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes, Peaches is '63, but the invite is open to all SOCites. There were graduates from 61 thru 66 there Sunday. I've made lots of friends thru this annual event & Peaches home is decorated from top to bottom. It's really beautiful. We had lots of fun. John Southworth & Dru came this year. Always enjoy visiting with them. Yep, 85 Monday & when we got home late Tuesday it was getting really cold. 45 this morning here. And maybe a freeze overnight Thursday! Yikes, it's finally winter.
Place: Dallas Comments: Merry Christmas all. Sandy, did Peaches graduate in '63? My older brother Martin Lee Smith ( Marty ) graduated that year. He was the bear mascot. Temperature this Friday morning will be 29*. Be sure to wrap the outside faucets. Stay warm !
Place: Richardson Comments: When we got in from Houston last night it was cold! Now it seems more like December! Hope everyone is doing well, even though some days are a little tougher than others. Take care & let's get into the spirit of Christmas. Merry Christmas SOCites!
Place: Hot in Richardson Comments: Well, it's Dec 3rd & it's supposed to be in the 80s today. The plants & trees are confused & frankly, so am I. ![]() Going to Peaches house today for her annual SOC Christmas Party. Always good to see SOC friends from other classes. John & Dru are supposed to make it this year. Been too long since we've seen them! Don's Aunt in Houston passed away this weekend. Don & his brother will be pallbearers & we'll be out of pocket for a couple of days. Have cat/house sitter, neighbors dtr so good to stay here. Hope everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit despite the hot temperatures.
Place: Richardson Comments: I know what you mean Sammy. I felt more sluggish than the Cowboys offense! It was a great dinner & really enjoyed visiting with my niece & nephew as well as brother & sis-n-law. It was a good day all around, except for the Cowboys game, what a downer. Preparing for Christmas. I got all the HOA decorations up yesterday and Don put out our front yard Christmas lights. Today he fixed our landscape lights as some were out & others were just not working. Looks nice tonight! I guess tomorrow we'll put up the tree & decor. Geez, it's too hot to almost be December!
Place: Turkeyville Comments: Well I did it again. Gorged myself Thanksgiving day. It was a marathon all day. Thursday night I was moving like a slug on Ambien CR.
Place: Sachse Comments: Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Have a safe and happy holiday!
Place: Richardson Comments: That's great Rick, look forward to seeing you at both the Mini & the B-day Party! Productive day - - - made German choc pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potato casserole, cornbread dressing and cranberry relish. Taking all over to my brother's house & will bake the dressing & sweet potatoes when I get there. Always love spending time with my brother and his family. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!! |
