Place: Richardson Comments: At the Mini several of us were discussing how long it takes the Post Office to return an undeliverable letter. Sometimes 3-4 weeks, sometimes months & even once a full yr. Well, here's one for the books. True story - - I have the envelope to prove it! Monday evening Don got our mail and said I had a "return to sender" SOC envelope. Odd, since I haven't sent any invites out since May 2016 for the 50th reunion?? I looked, and yes, there was an envelope marked with the big yellow sticker saying, "Return to Sender No such Number". It was sent to Jack Sanford (he had a P.O. box at that time) and it was mailed May 4, 2016! It's two months shy of 2 full yrs since I mailed it. Place: Richardson Comments: Yes, Speedy's (Mike) announcement that he was now Cancer Free was the highlight of our Mini!!!! ![[biggrin]](https://cdn.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif "Big Grin - :D") Myself and several others (Jack & Gary) have known him since Lisbon. He & Myrna are planning to attend the 70th B-day Party.

Place: Allen,TX Comments: Had a blast at the mini. Was great watching my buddy, David Thomas, reconnecting with old friends. He had the time of his life. But the highlight of the party was when our dear classmate, Speedy, came in. He beat his csncer and covered his bald head with that hilarious "hair" cap. Way to go, Speedy. Make laughs out of your cancer. You showed that cancer cannot keep a good man down. We all love you. Brought tears to my eye seeing you and your great, positive attitude. All thumbs up for you, buddy!! You are the greatest. We all love you.

Place: Richardson Comments: I got the pics from Saturday's Mini posted! Got some good pics of y'all. Was glad to see Fay Pool and Davids Thomas make a first time appearance. Fay was a career Military person as was Paul Scholte and they have both retired and are now enjoying getting reacquainted with their SOC friends. David reconnected with Ronney & Ronney invited him to attend. Also got lots of registration fees for the Party in September!! I'm going to start a list of attendees for the party so people will see all the friends signing up to attend. Place: Richardson Comments: We had a nice crowd at the Mini yesterday. We had someone who recently found us thru Ronney McKee & drove in from Sanger to get reacquainted! Welcome to David Thomas! He also plans to attend the 70th Party. Lots of Good News . . . Sammy & Sarah came & Sarah is doing well as she recovers from her surgery. ![[thumb]](https://cdn.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif "Thumb - :thumb:") She still gets tired easily but, I'm sure she enjoyed getting out & we sure enjoyed seeing them both. Also, Mike (Speedy) Harrison & Myrna came & the great news is that he is now Cancer Free!! He had stage 3 Lymphoma but the chemo killed it quicker than even the Dr. expected. Our prayers were answered! He had on a funny hat wig bec he has no hair or eyebrows. But that will grow back! He is happy & grateful to be alive. And so are we. Also, almost everyone who attended filled out a registration form and paid for the 70th!! Our attendance list just shot up!! Later today I will try to post all the names who have paid so far for the Party & also post the photos. I had a great time at the Mini & 13 of us went to El Fenix for dinner. Place: Richardson Comments: Yea!!! As of about an hour ago my email both in/out is working again. Only took 52 min on-line with AT&T person to get it fixed. What an ordeal. But I'm up & running! Hope to see lots of you Saturday at the Mini!
Place: Richardson Comments: I'm having trouble with my email, I can't Send or Receive it. the last email I received was from Susan late Tue. 3-13. I have not been able to Send and nothing is coming in today, Wed, 3-14. If you need something either call me or tell me thru FB. Also, don't forget our Spring Mini this Saturday, March 17th at the Holiday Inn on Central Expwy. Go to our Events pg for all the details about the Mini & the upcoming 70th B-day Party! You must register to attend! I'll bring blank forms to the Mini.

Place: Richardson Comments: Sammy - I'm so glad Sarah & you plan to attend the Mini. I bet she will be glad to get out of the house for a bit. FYI regarding the 70th B-day Registration form. I will bring a bunch of blanks to the Mini for anyone who wants to fill it out while there & then hand it to me along with your check. Whatever works for any of you is fine with me. Place: Dallas Comments: Sarah and I will be at the Spring Mini . We'll bring a check for the 70th. Thanks again for your prayers for us. She is improving and getting stronger every day.
Place: Garland Comments: Richard, Barbara and I had dinner with JD and Kathy last Monday evening. They were on their way for their annual Phoenix trip. Will be there the month of March. |
