Great pix. Thanks Don and Sandy. Since I joined you all from Saudi Arabia in 1963 and then was gone again for so many years, this helps fill in my “history gaps.”

For a little spark of good memories, I've created a photo page entitled "Early Days", it's under the main heading of Our Photos.  The program started acting up so I had to quit but will post more soon.

When the phone rings at barely 8:30am I know it's not good news. First, Speedy (Mike Harrison) called to let me know Nolan Lenamond passed away last night!  Those of you from Zumwalt will know Noland & he went to SOC our Soph yr.  He had emphysema and had been on portable oxygen for years.

2nd bad news - Speedy said his cancer came back and with a vengeance!  When he and Myrna came to our Spring Mini they were celebrating him being declared Cancer Free.  Their cruise was to celebrate it.  But before they could go on the cruise he was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer and it's inoperable.  He just completed the 3rd treatment hoping to put it into remission.  Please remember Speedy & Myrna in your prayers!

A tidbit of funny coincidences . . .  On the 3rd day of the cruise Speedy came out of his cabin only to see Dale Smiley!!  They spent the rest of the cruise having fun together.  That's why both couples didn't come to the B-day party, they were booked on the same cruise!.

Glad I don’t qualfy for GNO because I am an El Fenix kind of guy. Cucumber sandwiches just can’t compete with tres enchiladas, arroz y frijoles refritos

It's great to hear from Susan, Janice & Shortcake about attending the lunch!  Let's spread the word and hopefully we'll have a good turnout.  Count me in . . . I'll be there!

Right now I am saying that I can attend and it has been a long time since we have been to The ChocolateAngel.
I do have three Dr. appt in the next month so unless there is a problem I am pretty sure I can be there.

I plan to attend!  Let me know where, time on Sat. 12/8.  Chocolate Angel is good for me too, or where ever.

Y 'all are a Blessing!

I kind of like the idea of The Chocolate Angel.  I love that place and we haven't been there in a while.  But whichever one you choose will be fine.  You must have read my mind ... not an easy thing to do. [biggrin] I was just thinking this morning that we haven't had a GNO in a while.  I'll save the date.

Paul - I look forward to seeing you & your wife at the Spring Mini!!

OK girls . . .  I'm giving everyone a little over a months notice that there will be a Girls Luncheon on Saturday, December 8, 2018.  The place is open for suggestions!  Carol Carpenter will be in town that weekend to attend a John Denver tribute by Jim Curry.  It would be great to have a luncheon so we can visit with Carol.

Mark your calendars and let me know if you have a particular place you want to eat. We can go anywhere up or down Hwy 75 or anywhere else for that matter.  There's always the good old standbys of El Fenix or Chocolate Angel.  Just make sure you "Save the Date"!

I just wanted to reiterate Don Lincoln's post  (3 posts down) regarding Odis McLean's obit & his request for no flowers, instead he asked for people to make a contribution to 3 Charities, or, a charity of your choice.

Odis was a kind and generous man and the Wounded Warriors was a special thing for him.

The quick onset of a very aggressive cancer and a quick demise ending in a very unexpected death of our good friend, Odis, has brought new meaning to my constant plea, "Please make every effort to attend our Spring or Fall Mini, or any other get-together, because the person you would like to see may not be there the next time!"  We all thought we would see Odis & Karen at the b-day party . . .

Another follow-up regarding Odis, partly for clarification and partly with additional info.

When I offered to collect donations on behalf of our class and submit them to the Wounded Warrior Project, I didn't intend to imply that you couldn't make a personal donation, if you preferred.  However, if you're interested in the group donation, please reply at the link shown above and send your donation to me.  The 3 he requested, in lieu of flowers are:
   1.  Wounded Warriors Project - http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org (personal or group donation)
   2.  Jews for Jesus - http://www.jewsforjesus.org (personal donation)
   3.  Salvation Army - http://www.salvationarmydfw.org (personal donation)

Realized we hadn't posted a copy of his obit previously, here's one:
