I talked with Speedy for awhile today and he said he got news last week that his cancer is shrinking.  He was very excited for the good news!  He said he will be at the Mini as long as his chemo doesn't take him down too much.

My prayers are for Randy in the hospital waiting for a lung transplant, Paul fighting off cancer, Eileen recovering from a stroke and Speedy also fighting cancer.  Lets all make a big effort to make it to the Mini on April 13th!!!

Yes, our class is going through a very rough time.  With the loss of Odis McLean, Gary Fleming and David Mitchell in less than 6 months and now Randy Conine is in hospital awaiting a lung transplant, Eileen Sandefer has had a stroke, Paul Scholte is battling cancer and Speedy Harrison is also battling cancer .  .  .  we need to make every effort to see each other at our semi annual Minis.

I hate to sound like a broke record but, please come to the Mini on April 13th because you never know when it will be your last chance to see an old!  [eek]

April 13, 2019 @ Hyatt Hotel 2:00 to 6:00pm in the bar area.  Located in the NE corner of Hwy 75 & Campbell Rd.  It's FREE and the fun and laughter are included!

Been awhile since I last popped in here. In the waning hours of my 73rd year it feels eerie to read about Eileen Sandefer and her current challenge. Seems like only yesterday that she was that skinny girl with long blonde hair that lived four doors down on Calcutta Drive.

Eileen, get better soon.

I ask everyone that can reasonably make it, come to the Spring Mini. With all our class is going through it would really br nice to have a strong turnout. One thing I learned being away from you all for so long, it is EXCELLENT to go home again. Looking forward to seeing a lot of folks. Paul

I have really fallen behind this week, despite the Outlook reminders!

H a p p y  BELATED B i r t h d a y  wishes go out to Gordy Johnson for 3/18!

Gordy – We hope you had a great one on Mon., and maybe at our age, a late reminder isn't such a bad thing after all.  Best wishes for many more!

I've been out doing errands and the grocery store.  Walked in & Don said to call Rick Mitchell regarding Randy Conine.  Randy is in Baylor awaiting a single lung transplant, obviously, his lungs have gotten progressively worse.  Rick  has spoken with both Randy's wife & Randy and was asked to let me know because he wanted y'all to know his situation and for us to keep the prayers coming.

Thank you to Don L. for posting when he got the info.  Prayers for Randy & Eileen and of course, Paul!

I just rcvd a text from Rick Mitchell, relaying a note from Randy Conine this morning:

"He is in Baylor Hospital awaiting a single lung transplant.  He said it will be within one or two days.  I haven't heard from his wife.  I'll let you know."

Shortly afterward, another text:

"I just talked to Randy and his wife.  Both seem very optimistic.  Rick"

No time to let-up on those prayers, folks - plenty to spread around.

Judy replied quickly to me.  Below is where Eileen is doing Rehab if you wish to send her cards.  Don't know how long she will be there.  At least she is now able to speak.  See info below for mailing address.

Judy said, "She is speaking more clearly. Answering questions. Not starting conversations yet. Becoming more alert every day."

Ada Ann - go back and read the previous posts here.  Go to bottom of the GB & click "Next" & it will show the previous page. I know it's kinda weird to hit Next when yo want to go Back!  You'll need to go back 2 -3 pgs to my post of 3-15, the last paragraph talks about Eileen having a stroke.

Yes, here address in the 50th reunion directory is correct BUt, she isn't at home. She was in the Denison area visiting with her G-dtr bec G-dtr was about to have a baby & she wanted to attend the baby shower & be there when baby was born.  Judy Carpenter was nice enough to contact me and let me know what happened.  She was at Texoma Medical with Eileen over the weekend and said they were moving her to a rehab center on Mon or Tue.  But the rehab would be there in the same area not at her home.  I have not heard back from Judy and don't know what rehab center she is in or anything else.

SNL, I wouldn't let Robert off that easy.....Florida's closer than Calif. and I've made a number of those events.

I was reading an update on Eileen.  I guess I'd missed the fact that she's sick.  I trust she does well, she's a neat person.

Happy Anniversary Ronney & Connie!
Sorry to hear about Gary. We were in ROTC together. I think he moved in our junior year.
Another one of those nice, quiet guys. RIP Gary.

Robert -  I just read my email & saw that you now live in FL.  Guessing it might be a little difficult to attend the Mini.  Thanks for the updated info, don't be a stranger on ours GB!
