Yes, we may need to use an umbrella Sat. but it's always dry inside the bar.  Well,  .  .  . unless you count the drinks in our hands!  Looking forward to see everyone Saturday.

OK, I'm asking for a favor.  I know this has been "difficult" before and Jack H. has even described it as herding cats!  But at 3:00pm I want to get everyone, spouses & friends included, together for a photo. At the Hyatt they have a raised section with two steps up.   I believe I can get everyone lined up on the upper section, then stair step them down to get a good shot of all who attended.  I'll get the bar tender or someone in the bar to take the shot.  I will share it with anyone who wants an original jpg of it.  PLEASE do this for me!!  Don't make me have to get mean with you to get you arranged for the photo! [rolleyes] [tongue]  I still cherish the photo we took way back at our 60th b-day party.  I think I'll post it later today on the old photo pg.  Maybe seeing all the people missing from it will inspire you to help me get this photo taken Saturday!

I am a little bummed out because my close friend since the 8th grade and fellow French horn player, Mario Fuentes, won't be at this upcoming mini. As many of you know, he lives part of the year at his home in Mexico and the other half here. He will still be in Mexico. Just not the same without Mario and Barbara at the mini. At most of our parties, Mario, Barbara and Sammy and Sarah Smith, and Connie and I hang out much of the time at the minis. Mario (or Moe, as we used to call him in the band) promised to be at the next mini.
After all of the sickness and deaths recently, I plan to see and spend a little time with as many of our classmates as possible at this coming mini. I want to appreciate and show love to as many people as I can this time. We are a good group of fine people. And, I want to enjoy everyone there, whether I knew them in school or not. Lets all make wonderful memories.

Clever Paul, it only took me 20 minutes to decode & figure it out.  I'm slow to catch on. [rolleyes]

A thunderstorm went thru here a bit ago with lots of heavy rain, thunder & lightning but at least No Hail!  We need the rain, but no hail please!  Looking forward to next Saturday.  Going to be fun!

You're welcome Paul!  I just thought it was such a good description of Randy & those not of FB would miss seeing it.

Yes, the Hyatt for our Mini is located at 701 E. Campbell Rd. @ Hwy. 75 in Richardson.  C'mon gang, put a smile in your heart & a lilt in your step and let's try to make this a great turnout and enjoy visiting with great friends!

Hotel reservation made for our SOC '66 Mini! Just FYI in case anyone still needs to make a reservation - There are two Hyatts in Richardson. The Hyatt Regency is where we'll be - not the Hyatt House. (I verified that with Sandy.)
I hope that all who are able to come to the Mini will make an effort to do so. I'm guessing that at least one classmate is hoping to see YOU above all others.
Love to all - Carol

Unfortunately, this  beautiful obit wasn't printed on the program at his services on 4-2 but, it was still on his wall on FB.  Someone, maybe his wife??, posted this on 3-31.  I thought you would like to read it.(see below)  RIP Randy.

"Randy R Conine passed away peacefully Friday, March 29 surrounded by family and friends. He was a loving husband and fur daddy leaving behind his beloved wife Marian Conine and dog Gracie. He is also survived by his Uncle Jim and Aunt Peggy as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Randy was born on December 18, 1948 to Sharon and Al Conine. He spent his life in Oak Cliff graduating from South Oak Cliff high school in 1966. He earned his Master’s Degree in English from the University of Texas at Arlington. Randy dedicated his life to education as an English Professor proudly serving the Dallas County Community College District. During his 43 year career he impacted many lives and was proud of his relationships with his students. He was an incredible teacher and was awarded the Piper Professor Award from the State of Texas. Randy was a tireless advocate for his students focusing his attention on international students, he believed that education was a right for all. He and Marian established the Sharon Conine and Inez Austin Scholarship fund in honor of their mothers.
It was always his dream to build a cabin in the woods, he was a great carpenter, he reached his goal when he built his amazing cabin in Mont Alba with his former student and surrogate son Nathan Brown and his wonderful hound dog Sam. He was an avid reader with a great love for books. He enjoyed classic country music, the likes of Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, and he loved his pickup trucks. He was a loving and caring man dedicated to his wife Marian and dog Gracie. His loving spirit will be missed by everyone.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, from 6pm to 8pm at Jeter and Sons funeral home at 332 Cedar Street, Cedar Hill, Texas 75104. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1pm at the same location. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Human Rights Initiative in honor of Randy."

You're so funny Paul!!  No, I think they're all kinda afraid of me so they don't dare lift it. LOL LOL

Seriously, I'm the one who usually "forgets" to take all my stuff. I have been know to leave my camera only to have friends "Fugates" pick it up and bring it to me at the dinner. [rolleyes]  So I guess what I'm really saying is "Don't let me leave  my stuff behind!  [biggrin][rofl][rofl][rofl]
