As a “non-Facebooker” (I know I am a Neanderthal), I am so glad we have a place like this and the minis to connect. Though she has heard it many times, thanks so much Sandy for keeping the lines of communication open. Trust me, you are ALL in my prayers constantly as we face the challenges of “maturity.” 🙂. Because of my procedure I will have to wait til the Spring mini to see all of you. Believe me, the time cannot pass fast enough.

I am so sorry to hear this. As we get older the loss of a spouse will be happening more often  but that does not make it any easier. Knowing that friends are supporting you is a great help.

Hi Everyone!

We will be praying for Paul S. during his procedures and re-building time.

Sandy, thank you for letting us all know about Robert Dean's wife, Lynne.

Looking forward to the Mini in October.

Have a great weekend!

We just got back from our cruise. Shirley Mullins posted pics on Facebook. You'll notice one of Mario and Barbara Fuentes. They left their home in Playa Del Carmen to join the group at Mr.. Sanchos Resort in Cozumel. We had a great time with them.
Prayers for Paul and Robert. God's richest blessings to both of you at this time.
See all at the mini next month.

Well that's really sad to read about Robert's wife.  He's going through some experiences right now that are hard to relate to.  I wish him and his family well.

Robert Dean contacted me this morning.  He wanted to let us know his wife, Lynne, had passed away.  He asked if I might mention it to some of you who knew him.  I thought having Robert say it was better than what I could write. Below is an excerpt from his email.  My deepest sympathy to an old friend on his heart-breaking loss.

"I am writing to mention that my dear wife Lynne passed in late August.  She had two separate forms of advanced cancer and died from complications of treatment.  She just could not handle chemo.
Lynne had turned 69 earlier in the month.  We have two kids and five grandchildren.
She had been a journalist and editor, then moved into fundraising, and spent 30 years loving every minute of helping people.  She managed four major Habitat for Humanity campaigns including one in Dallas, and ended her career as Director of Institutional Development at one of the Alamo Colleges in San Antonio.  She co-wrote two fundraising books.
We were approaching our 43rd anniversary.
You probably don't post non-classmate items like this, but it you are talking to some of the folks who know me, you might mention it.
Her full obit is at Legacy.com, type in Lynne Dean."

You got it Paul - everyday!

One of my favorite songs these days is by Dierks Bentley, it's called "Living".  Here's an excerpt from it.  Those of you who are C&W fans will understand.

Some days you just breathe in

Just try to break even

Sometimes your heart's poundin' out of your chest

Sometimes it's just beatin'

Some days you just forget

What all you've been given

Some days you just get by

And some days you're just alive

Some days you're livin'

We have a classmate who needs all the prayers we can muster.  Paul Scholte will have a port put into his chest Monday & then Tue, and for 1 to 4 days, they will extract his bad stem cells. They're hoping to get a lot.  Then on 9-16 he checks into the hospital for a 3 to 4 week stay.  He will receive heavy doses of chemo and then they will reintroduce the "clean" stem cells they removed earlier.  After that they have to rebuild his immune system as it will be totally clean.

Please put Paul and his family in your prayers.  [love]
