Place: Richardson Comments: Hotel for Mini has been confirmed! Hyatt Hotel on Campbell Rd. @ Hwy. 75 in Richardson. Same place as last Spring Mini. I just posted it on the Events page.
Place: Mansfield, Tx. Comments: I echo what Mario said about Speedy. I also have good memories of him at Lisbon, like calling plays in the huddle and running around the end, with the other team chasing him. I have really enjoyed reminiscing with him over the last years at our mini's and seeing that smiling face. I will continue to pray for him and his family
Place: Richardson Comments: Mario, thank you for those heartfelt words about Speedy and our time at Lisbon. You said it better than I could, so thanks! When I speak with Myrna again I will let y'all know. His status is critical and on a day-to-day basis.
Place: Playa Del Carmen, Mx Comments: Sandy, Since yesterday when you told us the sad news about our classmate Speedy, he's been on my mind and in my thoughts and prayers. Like you and others who have had a friendship with him going all the way back to those happy days we had at Lisbon, none of us could have run into a nicer kid back in those days to have for a friend. Speedy was one of those kids who got your attention in more ways than one, not only was he able to out run those who dared to race him out on the playground beside the gym, but what I most admired, and to this day remember about it was that he did it so kindly...which in my thoughts and all my fond memories today about him, was that he was always that way about everything, Bless you Speedy, and Paul, and please know that we're praying for you both during these difficult days, and weeks ahead.
Place: Richardson Comments: Just so y'all know, this is tearing me up inside, but I wanted to at least prepare you for what's coming. Myself, as well as a bunch more of us, that went to Lisbon, Zumwalt & SOC have known Speedy since Lisbon, we even know why he got the nickname of "Speedy". I won't post anything else until a change occurs. So far so good for Paul. The new stem cells were put in Thursday and now he waits. Praying for a good reaction and none of that bad stuff!
Place: Melissa, TX USA Comments: Sandy, thank you very much for the update on Speedy. Speedy and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: So sorry to hear about Speedy. Thanks for keeping us informed, Sandy. Love to all.
Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Roger Polson, today, Sep. 22nd! Roger – Hope you had a great one today, with family or friends to help mind the candles, in case of melt-down. Best wishes for many more to come!
Place: LV, TX Comments: Well said, Paul. Providing encouragement for others, in spite of the journey you face and other challenges that lay ahead is quite inspirational. But, you're right - the power of prayer from those who support you, Speedy and all those dealing with similar issues, plus their families, is strong and cannot be denied!
Place: Edmond Comments: Praying for Speedy and family. I trust they will fully experience God’s mercy and love and even a miracle. Clearly, these days tell us to stand together like never before. 66.
Place: Mike (Speedy) Harrison Comments: As many of you know, Speedy got cancer and went thru lots of chemo & other treatment about 2 years ago. He was finally proclaimed cancer free late last spring (2018) & he came to the Mini & was so happy. They planned a cruise in Sept 2018 to celebrate. Then, earlier this year the cancer came back with a vengeance. I learned about 3 and a half weeks ago that he was not doing well. I've been talking with his wife Myrna often but, he's fading fast. Per the family's request, I haven't posted anything about this because Speedy isn't able to talk on the phone & Myrna is overwhelmed and can't field any more calls. But, this morning she said his breathing is shallow & he's on 24/7 hospice. I will let you know as things change. Please - Honor Myrna's request of not calling and do not post any of this on FB! They both said several weeks ago they didn't want it on FB and they can't handle lots of calls. They have a strong church support group & his son,Travis, is here from CA, as well as Myrna's son Glenn who is local. I'm heartbroken, but at least wanted to prepare you for the worst. All we can do now is pray for a peaceful release and for Myrna who has been by his side thru everything and is still there beside him today. God Bless the Class of '66.
